I rebuilt Terry's old Viper over 10 years ago after I bought the damaged airframe from a friend of Terry's in Ohio. Terry used a PPG base - clear system and I still have the the colored paint stored for future use. I can supply you with the color code information if you still need it for your project. Your build looks great John, and for anyone looking for a contest quality scale 1/5 scale Ryan STA Special in the John Gosney scheme, I have one for sale. This was my practice plane for the Ryan that I built for Top Gun a few years back. I still have that one and have this listed currently in the Classified Scale section of RCU. '"No women allowed" is the kingdom's message to Saudi women and girls who want to play sports, In fact Saudi Arabian sheikhs also ban women from competing on its Olympic team. They claim that allowing women to partake in sports is a slippery slope which will lead them to dress provocatively, spending an unnecessary amount of time outside the house and mingling with men outside of their families. Women are also banned from driving which makes it particularly difficult for them to attend sporting events. In 2009 the Saudi government closed gyms for women and they maintain strict laws dictating how women should dress and behave, making it extremely difficult for them to partake in physical activity. A few years ago a marathon event was held in which women could only participate if they wore the abaya - a black cloak which covers the body head to toe, kinda like a black KKK outfit, helps keep the sun out..... Not too many females showed up for that one..... [:)] Maybe instead of Art petitioning BV, he should call up the Saudis to give some fatherly advice on how not to control their females!! RB

Thanks for chiming in here Harley, well said, Bob Violett in my opinion is the [i][b] overall[/b] [/i][b][/b]best turbine/jet airframe designer, manufacturer, builder and pilot in the US, and probably in the world. I've competed with him at Top Gun for 9 years so I can make this very qualified statement. Several may hold a BVM grudge, but if you truly understand model jet aircraft design/engineering, manufacturing, buiding and flying, you'll understand how incredibly good BV's resume is. 2011 Hamburg Jet Jamboree, October 6th – 9th, Hamburg PA
The Farview R/C Flyers will be having their fifth annual 2011 Hamburg Jet Jam on October 6th through 9th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Our club would again like to extend a fantastic opportunity for you to join with us in flying radio controlled jet aircraft at the Grim Airpark in beautiful Hamburg Pennsylvania. Just minutes off of Routes 78 and 222, our Airpark which is located at 375 Farview Road, Hamburg Pa 19526, has one of the country’s premier venues for flying turbine powered aircraft. Our flying field features an impressive 200' by 1400' rolled grass runway as well as several thousand feet of flyover zones. Food and beverage will be available throughout the event. This jet event operates on 2.4 Ghz only and our landing fee is $30 for all four days, including one free crew pass. A special thanks this year goes to Dave Johnson and his staff from Futaba Support and Tower Hobbies, who very kindly reached out to me after round one, giving me a set of DLE 111 mufflers so that I could continue to compete with my Pitts Special S-1S in Expert for the duration of the event. I lost power on my final approach in round one after loosing the right side muffler on my Brison 4.8 twin. The DLE 111 muffler had a perfect bolt pattern match for the Brison! I flew all four rounds finishing twelfth, and couldn't have done it without Dave's support. Thanks so much to Dave and his crew from Futaba and Tower Hobbies!! Also I would like to congradulate Frank Tiano, his wife Carol, all of the TG judges, flight line crew, hard-working staff and vendors for continuing to make this event the best in the country. Ken from RCU and the Model Airplane News staff did a great job, as always, covering the event with photography, interviews and video. The venue this year was incredible to say the least!!
