RE: speed..../Hurricane vrs avalanche
Get the hurricane if you want the speed, the avalance is more of a digger! Stock hurricane will do about 40 to 45
ORIGINAL: schlags62
ORIGINAL: Clermont Hobby firebird, the hurricane is nothing like the monsoon. Totally different. The monsoon has the extended clutchbell with a bushing and all. The hurricane is a standard setup.
How do I keep the clutch bell tight? If I tighten it too much then it wont turn, am i missing something?
Thats what the shims are for, my guess is you dont have enough on the inside. or your bearings are toast or both.

One way bearing, my does the same thing, the cold causes it not to function correctly. It works fine when the motor is warm! I believe ehroof has a bandaid fix somewhere in one of these threads!

RE: Running HOT
Yes, it ran lean, the crack was on top and as soon as the fuel went down a bit the pressure from the exaust was leaking out the hole causing low fuel pressure and lean running, I never ran it hot I usually just adjusted the carb to bandaid the problem until I got sick of tuning it all the time.

RE: Running HOT
I had a crack in my fuel tank before. I found it by taking the tank off and puting it in water and blowing through one of the hoses while plugging the other. Nice little hair line crack that I would have never found!

RE: Need opinion on Avalanche
First off the a couple of months old thing is a little vague, parts could be very worn I would suggest giving a estimate on run time or tanks of fuel. I would think you could probably get that out of it!

RE: Redcat Racing Responds
Hey fire, its funny when jumping little jumps and big jumps you get to a point when the r/c is going to break if you land wrong no matter what size the jump. The fatherest I have jumped my buggy is 55 feet it was on that video I made. I never broke a part that day just a bent shock shaft when I landed on the nose and lost a screw! I hope to push this Redcat buggy to the ultimate limits soon very soon. The weather is getting good and the snow is melting, thank goodness! I hope Redcat can get this shock mount spacer available very soon as well.

What is with Redcat Racing and their unresponsive customer service! I have tried contacting them many times over the last few weeks and not even one little response. Pretty annoying!

You will need an adapter or a new switch, the avalanche has the 2 pin receptical for a AA battery holder not a hump pack which has a male three pin.

RE: Butane Boost Injection
Nice find RedHarris One problem with direct nitrous injection is when the nitrous is introduce there is no additional fuel introduced, this will run the motor lean! Unless you have the carb settings on the rich side all the time. This setup needs some way to add more fuel with the nitrous. I suppose one could fabricate a mirco venturi and tie it into the nitrous line and fuel tank. Hmmmm I will look into this.

RE: Butane Boost Injection
Again propane alone will run it rich but you add oxygen and you will add power, explosive power!!!!!!!! This can be very dangerous oxidizing propane it will be very explosive! As with oxidizing any fuel! Not recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you truely know what your doing!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Butane Boost Injection
So good job attempting this retard1322 as I suspected it sounds like you just ran it rich, the flames and back firing are characteristics of running to much fuel, if you would have run the butane with some added oxygen or nitrous oxide it probably would have made some power, with of course the risk of totaling the motor. Its like the TV show mythbusters, butane alone, I would say this myth is busted!
