RE: What IBEC to buy?
Speedy,, I'm not positive on exctly what all was changed but originally battery type info was required to insure proper one and now it is designed to work with any battery, Ni, A123, and any Li .... I not a designer I'm just a user so not qualified to answer that well.. If you send Bill an email I am sure he would be happy to explain full features of product.. billw@nc.rr.com

RE: What IBEC to buy?
For those who want the WIKE IBEC and do NOT wish to deal with TroyBuilt just send an email directly to Bill Wike billw@nc.rr.com ... I personally have not tryed the Tech-Aero "Ultra-IBEC". However I have tryed the 42% stuff and would never even consider them... I have the WIKE IBEC on a china 50cc, a china 100cc and a DA150.. I have been using since inception and have never experienced any problems... Plus support is fast, price is reasonable, and product is better with each up grade.. .

RE: What IBEC to buy?
I'm with Lifer on this... The Wike have zero issues with any batt config... Added feature is can use TX kill.. Also let you know if ignition is active (on) ... Zaero chance of feedback and has proper voltage output for all ignitions.. Avalable from Troy Built...

RE: Suggestion about a decent gyro for a twinstar
You could use something as a FMA Co-Pilot.. However, if someone needs to use a gyro on a twin TRAINER they should probably put in more time on a single engine plane and practice using the rudder more.. Once comfortable enough doing this then use a Twinstar, get in some time with it learning how it reacts to various inputs and then do a short fill on one tank, put it up high, and practice engine out and rudder control... It really is pretty simple... Always point rudder in direction of running engine and when you reduce power (as for landing) then reduce rudder input...

RE: single battery possible?
Actually CAN be done and SAFELY... Put in a WIKE IBEC .... (can be purchased from Troybuilt or MagnumRC) Not only does it TOTALLY stop *any* type of 'noise it also give an added feature of TX engine kill w/o using carb... Run direct from RX to ign, set end points at 100/100, set to a switch... DONE... Works on 2.4 or 72...

RE: Prop/Engine Synchronizers... Yes or No?
The WIKE Twin Sync does everything it is suppose to do plus more... There is an optional TACH available that gives pretty decent RPM readings.. There is also an on-board glow driver that can be set for sepcific RPM... Should an engine quit the other one goes to idle so you KNOW you have a engine out.. Just pull throttle stick all the way back and now you have full control over the tunning one... Just set throttle end points to 100 up and down.. Adjust each engine to run perfect individually and let the WIKE Twin Sync do the rest... :D

RE: Ignition battery eliminator
http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/WRCIBEFV2.html Is fully adjustable to 5.9 volts.. Any ignition that requires more than that has other issues.. Can be run thru an external switch and still be operated thru a TX switch.. Does not create unwarrented heat... yes I have them and use them... :D

RE: brushless esc question
ORIGINAL: karlik Will it cause any problems to make a Y-harness and run 2 motors with one esc (Provided it’s able to handle the current)? I don’t see any reason why brushless would be different, but thought I’d ask just to make sure.
One word... TIMMING ie: brushless = three phase motor... By running one ESC it will not be able to determine which motor is providing the correct signal... Both motors may,, or may not,, run in same direction.. One battery can power both motors thru a Y,, but each motor should have its own ESC..

RE: New type of aileron?
Looks similar to how the P-61 Black Widow worked.. ""The P-61 did not have ailerons. Aside from the full-span retractable "Zap flaps," all control of the aircraft about the roll axis was maintained through the use of curved, tapered spoilerons, of approximately 10 ft (3 m) in length and 6 in (15 cm) in width (in overhead plan view) each. They were located outboard of the outer edge of each nacelle in overhead plan view, approximately ¼ the length of the outer wing panel (the wing panel beyond the engine nacelle's outboard surface, out to the wingtip) and offset towards the wing leading edge approximately one third the wing's chord from the trailing edge, running towards the wing-tip approximately half the length of the outer wing. Operation was as follows: the spoileron in the inside wing rotated out of the wing's upper surface into the airstream, disrupting the effect of Bernoulli's principle and reducing lift over that wing, causing it to drop. I would think that after three engines,, two planes,,, multiple carbs,, much engine messin',, that I would look elsewhere... Might start with setting proper end points for both high and low side.. Plus use the throttle cut if your radio is so equiped..
