RE: Speedworld/Desert Storm ROLL CALL....
I would like to take a second and say THANKS TO EVERYBODY...and I mean every-BODY,,, I have been a hobby freak since I was a kid, have been flying planes for 7 or 8 years, and have been around hobby "guys" my whole life. Both of my grandfathers owned hobby shops, all 5 of my uncles and dad flew U-control. I have competed in everything from slot cars to 5 scale cars, off road trucks buggies & IMAC, and in all my life have never met a better group of people. The "JET SNOB" stuff that circulates freely is just crap. I have only been going to these events and flyin these kero monsters for less than 2 years and ALL of you have made me feel like I am part of the family, in a very short time, and I appreciate it very much. It is a very supportive bunch of guys and the level of help and concern for OTHER People's issues is really unique to our events, and very heart warming to me. I very much look forward to seeing you all at Cali Jets.... I will be there with bells on! Magoo
ORIGINAL: jet time One last special thanks to Magoo for the great BBQ and hospitality. You really know how to get it done the right way!!! Thanks my friend Lowell Best in the West
Thanks Lowell... that means a lot to me. I enjoy tyring to help, as all I have to offer at this point, is after hours fun & food, I makes me feel good to see you guys happy, and I seem to be able to do that with the Grubb Rub and Propane. If we would of had some DA Carne also it would have been much better however... Maybe after Shui, Dougie, Ali, and Pablo get done with me, with Douglas taking the roll as my personal Baby sitter/Drill Stick Sergeant, I'll get to the point that I can contribute in the flying area, and put some flights on that someone might want to watch, as apposed to the opposite.... gotta burn kero!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for your tireless effort to make this event be what it was in such a short time. As I said before, you and JC should be very proud to resurrect such a great event and do it with class. I very much look forward to the three of us working together next year (as it should have been) to build on what you and Joe have accomplished with the Best in The West 2010. RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
Damit Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a week! Thank you Joey and Lowell, you did a great job!!! I am sorry I was unable to hold up my end of support, but you guys did not lack for anything. The event was run with class, and I for one, was proud to take part in it, even if it was but a brief moment. I had a blast, met a bunch of great people, and made some great new friendships. Ali, THANKS for gettin me "back on the horse", and all the support, I learned a lot, (apparently not enough...Lol) but gettin back in the air again was great and I thank you for that. The after hours activities were off the hook, a lot of laughs... Pablo you're a "one off" and Ill see you and Shui in Florida in a week... I'm lookin forward to that. Again... you two should be proud to have given so many people so much joy.... Magoo

RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! This is the word I want YA"LL to concentrate on ...... FUN.... FUN FUN FUN. Say it with me now.... FUN. Besides the absolute rush of flying turbine powered RC Planes, the thrill of doin it with your buddies all around you... n' smellin the jet exhaust. There's nothin more fun than gatherin at a GREAT Field for a few days to hang with your buds to eat good food, tell bad jokes, and just in general enjoy each others company, which we don't get to do often enough. Joe called and asked if I was interested in helping himself and Lowell co-CD the event, and my first thought was, Damit Jim Hell YA!!!! But besides doing all I can to help them both put on the event and all it's requirements, my main contribution will be to make sure that every single one of you that attend will have the best time of your life. Whatever that takes... we have the resources, energy, and time, to put on an event the befits the name "Best in the West" and that's what we're going to do! The Best in The West is coming back and coming back strong!!! If Joey, Lowell and I can't put together "the" Jet event of the year, than nobody can. It will be a well run, organized, TOP notch event. And while I don't want to speak for Joe and Lowell, I will do my part to make it the most fun event of the year, cause after all, that IS why we do this isn't it????? to enjoy ourselves while we'rer flying our "beasts"? So sign up early, and get yourself ready for 3 days of good people, good food, and a REALLY REALLY good time... and... oh ya, and there will be some TURBINE JETS THERE TOO.... Here we go!!!!! Come on in and get your GRUB RUBB..... there will be plenty!!!! Magoo

RE: Skymaster!?!?!?!
He is a dork (kidding), but it's not his fault Skymaster has it's priorities screwed up. I have ordered and recieved 3 Skymaster planes this last year. The Hawk 100 took 4 months, second one was about 5 months. It took me 8 months to finally get my Viper cockpit and canopy finished from parts I ordered over and over again. The newest one, the Hawk, Jeff was told they come with cockpit and light in nose installed... NOT. They came not installed.... but none of this is Jeffs fault. Because Skymaster has chosen to service their direct customers before RCI/Jeff and his customers...Jeff's orders get put in the rear, along with Jeff. They give him little to NO SUPPORT. He can only tell you what he knows and is told. Don't get me wrong... I too have been very angry at Jeff, but only to find out that he did order it and was just put off by Skymaster. not to say the guy can't screw up, but I can tell you first hand it's not for lack of effort.... CHANGE the NAME of THIS THREAD.......... U R still happy (u know what I mean)

[sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=tongue_smile.gif]
It's just my way of contributing to the event... I really enjoy the cookin and the hangin, so I try and make it fun for everybody that shows... it's what I do. Damit Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an event. I want to thank Kenny and Dave and everyone else out at the "Willow" for a truly wonderful few days of flying and fun which I was lucky enough to be part of. Watchin the wicked display of mad skills hour after hour was amazing. The general feeling of friendship between the pilots in the pits was something to behold... Unlike other events I've attended, this one seemed to have a feel of harmony about it. That it was just all about the fun of flying Jets, and for me, it doesn't get any better than that... Thanks for all the fun guys,[:D] Magoo
