I have one NIB that I would sell for 100$ plus shipping.

RE: Reduced Landing Flap in Strong Wind
I always reduce my flaps in strong winds. Wind on the nose is free airspeed and my plane will float if I don't and make it hard to land and make stay on the ground if I don't.

RE: Wing Tubes
If it is a 38.0mm O.D.tube you can purchase a carbon tube from TNT landing gear. http://www.tntlandinggear.com/composite_tubes.htm They are 1000mm long so the length might be short depending on how long the Skymaster tubes are.

RE: Good epoxy
Pete, we use it for quick stuff at work. Guys this is really good epoxy for five minute stuff. The 610 pre thickend epoxy in the caulking gun size works great as well. It is thick enough that it does not run on vertical surfaces and about half the cost of hysol.

Yes a big job for one plane, Jimmie has our buddy Bob Frantz lined up to paint his when it is ready to go to paint. I'm still deciding on weather to paint or monocote it.

RE: Modeler or ARfer?
I had a few mintues today at lunchtime to look on RCU and saw my old thread from last year popped back up to haunt me. I really am sorry that I started the poll and all of this BS when frustrated by a rude customer who wanted to take advantage of my skills on more than one occasion. Can the Moderators PLEASE close this thread so it will go away?

RE: If you crash...
ORIGINAL: Dieselman1220 Good luck with that, I don't know of anyone who's had success with anymore than an airframe replacement. The radio manufacturers don't replace anything when one of their components fail.
Not always true with radio manufactures. When my BVM Electra crashed due to a radio failure two years ago. Horizon service replaced all of the radio gear and then some. They did not replace the plane only because they didn't make it or,they told me they would have.

I'm sure all the Maryland gang are back home by now. We had a great time even with our issues. Jimmie said we had First in Flight, first in flood, first in float, and then first in flight again for Saturday and Sunday. Thanks again to all involved and especially the city of Wilson for letting us have the event and we'll be there again next year.

Robert, I'll be able to tell everyone thank you myself tomorrow after all. Janice is insisting I come back down and she had a very good day today and we just got her car back from the local Walmart. Walmart has plenty of haters but they were more than wonderful in taking care of my wife until the medical staff got there for her and told us not to worry about getting her car today from their lot. If the hospital staff had not upset her so much and she would have put the bitch vane in check they when she came to. They would have let her come home and no one would have been the wiser. However they did the right thing as my neighbors did by calling me. See you guys in the morning.

Everyone have a good day, we might be down late tonight or tomorrow for the rest of the weekend. The hotel staff at the Mocrotel could not be more helpful with helping me getting a room in case we are able to come back down. Hope we see all of you and if not have lots of safe flights for me.

RE: 2013 First In Flight Jet Rallly! May 22-26
Want to say a big thank you out to Larry Lewis and my gang for keeping me calm after I got the call no husband ever wants to get. my wife went missing for 12 hours today so I had to leave very quickly today. She was late for a visit with neighbors and they called me as her car was missing and so was she. The six hour ride home was laborious but we found her safe and sound at the local ER right after I got home. She had gone shopping very early today and passed out at the local Walmart and was then taken by ambulance to a local hospitalmshe hates. Her cell phone was locked up in her car so that explained why she didn't answer either it or the house phone. Jan has had four heart attacks in the last two years so she feels terrible that I came home and wants me to sleep here tonight and drive back down in the morning. I'll pass on that but the two of us might be back Saturday for some flying and fellowship. If we don't get back you all have a great weekend!

RE: 2013 First In Flight Jet Rallly! May 22-26
Good and bad day today. Good that we got here early and got in a lot of flights before the late afternoon rain, bad that we lost Bob's new Jetmach 60 on the test flight today. He did everything first class with dual batteries and switches, but we suspect a shorted servo on the nose wheel taking the plane down. Total loss, feel really bad for him and I was the test pilot for it so holding a Tx for 20 seconds knowing a planes going in is not fun. We found a burned pin on the nose wheel channel that we think caused the power failure. Plane went into fail safe, went slightly nose down wings level, it or I shut the motor down before it hit the ground and best was no fire. The guys were great about helping find it as the grass is longer than it looks. They took the two of us out in the gator six wheeler and we found it in a million pieces, motor looks ok except for the mount and front case/ starter. Radio equipment and rcu look trashed but we'll see. Weather was good most of the day. Will take my IPad tomorrow and post pictures tomorrow night from the hotel. Come on down guys the weathers fine!

RE: Pics of the latest, heavy duty pipe from Fly Eagle Jets...
ORIGINAL: Jetdktr Found this in PGRC (in Maryland) newsletter: http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=914377
This MR DJ guy it a trip to behold. Jimmie and I know just about every person in Md that flies Jets and no one and I mean I one has ever seen him fly a turbine powered plane that we know of. I did meet him at the Farview fliers field three years ago and he brought several FRJ models with not one of them in flyable condition. He did not fly anthing at the event and don't know if he ever has. Lots of beating of the chest and look at me videos but no flying. caveat emptor.

RE: 2013 First In Flight Jet Rallly! May 22-26
I got the you have to fix the icemaker before you go BS again. I bought the top of the line GE French door refegerator only to find out that the ice maker and most of the unit is not made by GE and brakes every year or so. 92$ later so I would have the parts Friday the yelling stopped last night. I said do you know how much ice you could by for 92$ so I could finish my F-86? It got really loud then quiet so I was happy to go to work today. See you next week Bob.

RE: Hamburg Jet Jam roll call
Hey Larry, don't forget about what the formers will add. We'll talk about what you,can do to stiffen the structure but not adding weight. I might be able to give you something to stiffen it up and not add a ton of weight. The thing to understand is most composite structures are driven by stiffness requirements and not strength, adding another layer of glass will not really stiffen it as much a thin core material and then the third layer of light glass to trap it. Carbon placed strategically will do better as well. See you soon.

Thanks Jimmy for the nice words about my flying. I wished we could come up every weekend but once a month will have to do for now. Mario, you will love the place. I joined last weekend so we have a place where if you have a problem you can get it in without worrying about the overfly area.

RE: Flying at the Farview fliers field this weekend?
We had a great time over the weekend with the guys from Farview as usual. They had a partial year membership so I joined the club while I was there on Friday. Mark, Erik, Jim, Lou and so many other to name welcomed us like old friends. We are planning to attend the Fall event and if you can come you should as well. Best of all we got to see a 50% electric cub fly on Sunday morning that I shot some video of on my IPAD to show my home club guys that the limit on electric stuff is just funding. LOL. Every club should take a lesson from these guys they DO NOT have club meetings, they have a few basic safety rules, and anything that needs to get done they pitch in and do it. While we were there the lady who cuts the grass stopped by on Friday and the guys from the club explained to her that we were from out of town flying jets and asked if she could come back on Sunday or Monday to cut. She said no problem and her husband was there cutting and vacuuming the field just before we started flying for the day Sunday morning. Can't wait for the fall event and for our next trip up.

Flying at the Farview fliers field this weekend?
Hey all you Farview guys, I've been trying to get in touch with Lee to see what we have to do to come up a visitors to fly this Friday and Saturday. We have been playing phone tag the past few days and my email server dropped his email with his number so I'm looking for some help getting in touch with him. I sent him another email tonight regarding this subject. We ( Jimmie, Harold, and myself ) scheduled a vacation together and were supposed to go to E-jets but the plans changed when Harold lost his F-16 this past week. We still were wanting to fly jets this coming weekend and our local club does not allow us to fly turbines except twice a year. Jimmie wants to get some buddy box stick time building towards getting his waiver and I need to test fly my EDF BVM F-86 if I can get it ready by Friday. Can someone tell me other than Lee what we need to do as visitors. We have the hotel reserved so if we can't fly we need to cancel it by Thursday. Thanks guys for the help.

RE: Farview Summer Afterburner Rollcall!
You got it Chris. We should have plenty of shade space with the new two Coleman 12 x 12 canopies Jimmie picked up. I'm bringing mine as well so we should have 36 feet of frontage for the six of us. I will not have it ready but I just got a new Electra kit from my Dr. buddy Mark. He ordered it for a building project while he was recouperating from surgery a month ago and it didn't get here in time for him before he had to retun to work last week. My family was going to replace the one I lost last year at the fall event for my B-day so they heard he was disappointted it got here later than he planned so they bought it off him last weekend. Got to get my F-86 painted and Jimmies electra arf assembled for the fall event.
