RE: Nitroplanes
Planes out of stock on thier website for 2 YEARS!!! False advertising if you ask me!! EVERYTHING they sell is pure CRAP!!!! Get a Top Flite, Great Planes or Hangar 9 ARF, Much Better quality. And chances are- THEY ARE IN STOCK!!! To list planes on your website for over 2 years that are out of stock is just a ploy to get you interested in thier prices so you buy a differant P.O.S&*T airplane from them. Don't fall for thier B.S. and go to a reputable dealer with good customer service. Something N P does NOT have!!!!!!

RE: Futaba 14mz or spektrum dx18
Go for the Futaba 18MZ instead of the 14MZ it's way way better , you won't regret it.Take a look around, most people with 14's are upgrading to the 18. If you are a member of Tower Hobbies Super saver club ( 10 bucks a year) they send you offers that will save you almost 400.00 dollars. I got my 18 MZ for 2625.00 bucks it is UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! And by all means STAY AWAY FROM THAT SPEKTRA CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Radios and receivers
They are both Futaba Radio's, change the crystal in the receiver you want to use to match it with the better transmitter. Make sure you do a range check before you fly it. collapse your antenna and walk about 75 feet away from the model and see if it responds without any servo chatter. You shoud'nt have any problems being that they are both Futaba . Good Luck

RE: Landing gear bracing
Why not take some flat stock aluminum straight across from strut to strut 1/3 up from the wheels. bend a 45 degree angle on each side drill it out and bolt it on. I have done this on wire gear as well with a peice of 1/4 inch brass tubing flattened 1 inch on both sides, bent to match the angle of the gear and soldered on to the wire. It works very well. HTH

RE: Hobbico Avistar a Performer?
One more thing, Important!! Make sure your Avistar is balanced laterally. Hold the tip of the spinner and the bottom tip of the rudder and see wich side is heavier. add the correct amount of weight to the light side ON THE CENTER OF GRAVITY!! remember (adding weight fore or aft of the CG changes it) sounds stupid but has alot to do with tracking straight through your manuvers. RE: Hobbico Avistar a Performer?
The Avistar is a great little plane, it is capable of aerobatics as well as training without any modifications. You will need some more power than that LA 40 though. I have taught students to fly on differant kinds of planes and I think the Avistar is best. I would definetly say the O.S. AX 55 as your upgrade. I have flown the Avistar with this engine and she flies real nice, plus you will need the extra power for the Decathlon as they are a little dicey with that short fuselage taxiing down the runway. Good luck, hth John

RE: Trusty old Futaba 9ZHP's LCD screen is a bit dark.
I too have a 9ZHP from the early nineties and it has worked flawlessly for all these years, just about a month ago I started noticing the screen would change contrasts frequently on it's own. I was having a hard time reading the display alot of the time. The screen on the 9Z's was the only flaw in that great transmitter. I just got an 18MZ and it's unbelieveable! I saw on you tube a bit back on upgrades to the 9Z screens with nice bluebacked screens. Might be worth taking a look into, search 9Z or 9Z screen replacement. HTH , Rotten

RE: Dx8 still has problems
Futaba has far less problems than any Spektra product. all you JR and Spektra users are in Denial. I'm not saying that Futaba products do not have any issues, but there are Many more problems with those other brands. Just keep flying that crap and you will learn your lesson the hard way. Picking up the peices of your crashed airplane from the ground. There is a reason they are much cheaper than Futaba products, they are inferior.

RE: Which way to smoke?
I am using the Skywriter pump with a DLE 55 and it works great. I am using a Futaba 9z with the rates at 100% on rate A and 45% on rate B on the gear channel. It was very easy to set up on my 9Z and several guys at the field are using it with JR systems as well. 100.00 bucks for everything you need, ( except the Streamer .lol. sorry I could'nt help it) I say go for it!!
