RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
Welp finally got to run a full pack through my truck. it was awesome!!! the new parts they put on there were great! they upgraded the drive shafts and links and they look awesome as well. think i may need some lipos now. think i will start with 2s and creep up to 3s and see how it goes. what do you guys think is 2s good enough or would 3s be the way to go. really money isnt a factor just whatever you know.

RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
Welp if anyone remebers i wrecked my e-revo in the middle of my first pack. hit a colvert pretty bad and ended up tearing up pretty much the whole front end including breaking the chassis. i put an inquiry in the forums to see if anyone had time to fix it for me and had a couple takers but never got a really good answer with costs. so i ended up just sending it to traxxas. they replaced all the parts that i broke and they changed out all the shafts with upgraded ones. they said now it is better than new whatever that means. i should get it this week sometime i am pretty excited. this time i wont let someone stand infront of me or i will stop kick them in the ass then start again.

I really am shocked the is no company online that does this. Honestly right know I have a guy from these forums who is going to charge 30/hours which sounds fair. Only trouble is he can only work weekends. He is going to give me the info after the weekend for shipping etc. I'll let you all know how it comes out.

looking for a mechanic
So i have a couple of trucks that i am trying to get repaired. due to my schedule i have very little time to drive or to fix. if i had my way i would rather drive than fix but i like to fix them too.. i talked with traxxas and i am going to send them my brand new e-revo brushless for repair. it had and unfortunate accident with a colver in the middle of my first pack through it. i did order all the parts but when i got it apart i realized i cracked the frame and broke the front diff. not the housing the diff. oh yeah i hit the colvert hard. anyhow traxxas said they would repair my truck at 45/hour and i am going to have them do some upgrades to it while it is there. anyways all was good on that front. then i called hpi because i also have a new savage xs i would like repaired. it hasnt run right since i bought it in febuary but to my disconcern they said they dont repair there products like that. they said i can send in the esc or the tranny but not the whole truck to get it repaired. the tech did say they would prolly do it but it would cost me 45/hour at a 16hr minimum. wtf 16hours. traxxas said they could have my truck apart new chassis and then back together in 2 hours. sheesh. anyhow long story even longer i am looking for a mechanic to fix up my savage xs. is there anyone online that does this? my 2 lhs that are in the area sell cars and what not but they dont fix anything. actually they sell you a car then have to order the parts if you have a problem. seems silly to me. anyways anyone know where i can get a mechanic online to ship my stuff to?

RE: where to buy hop up parts for mcpx
i recieved my parts from wow hobies today. i bought some longer tailbooms some micro heli carbon fiber main blades and a mia micro-flight canopy combo kit. i love this combo kit it is awesome. i wasnt too excited when i realized it had to be 100% assembled but it wasnt that bad. i dont know what it is but the combonation of getting the battery farther forward, a longer tail boom as well as new main blades has made this thing almost stupid easy to fly. i have been flying it a few months now and i can do some 3d and what not but it has always been alot of work to fly. i can almost get it to hover and walk away now. i say almost because i actually have to keep moving the throttle. dont know why but seems it either goes up or down up or down. i love this thing... if anyone wants a picture of the upgrades i will post one. one more thing is i bound the dx6i with the little bird and seems i like to use that controller with it better as well. what a good day.

RE: where to buy hop up parts for mcpx
ORIGINAL: ATVAlliance yeah...WoW hobbies has a very large selection and is where I bought my last mcpx parts. Just be warned that if you ship to a different address than the billing address, you will have to fill out a form to release them to do that (was told this is a "one time" thing). I found out the hard way about the form as I waited a week and still no shipment or tracking info. I called them and they said/told me about the form that I never recieved. I guess they would have waited forever or until I called. Got it filled out/faxed back the same day of the call and had my order another week later. Im not "dissing" WoW...as I plan on buying from them again. Its just I thought it was pretty crappy that I had to call to see what was up with the shipping. They already had my email address AND phone number when I created my account. Seems like someone would have notified me, ya know? I did let them know that I thought that part of their ordering system was flawed/broken and they should address it. Maybe they will, maybe not. I give them a solid 8 of 10 with my experience. Would be 10 of 10 if not for the different address form for ship to address deal.
you know i understand you were annoying me in the other post but i must say this was very informative i did exactly what you said and it sped up my shipping process. thank you. on another note you two are evil for showing me this website. wallet is feeling lighter already.

RE: Taming the Blade Mcpx
ORIGINAL: 10000 yrs too late Thanks Morgan, I'll see what I can do. Now the motor gear is below the main gear and the motor just spins free, not sure what happened. So far this heli & radio have been the worst 500 bucks I've ever spent. I won't give up yet.
you need to push the main gear back into place. i just hold the main shaft above the grips then push on the main gear. this is actually a pretty cool feature that the main gear pops off like that. it really saves you from really damaging the bird. anyhow i feel your pain with flying the mcpx however after a few weeks its so awesome and after a couple months when you can start doing some 3D like me is when it is very rewarding. i am now able 60% of the time to successfully fly around my house inverted for litterally seconds. haha. anyhow to be serious i have had some pretty could inverted flights completly stock. you will get it.

RE: New Blade 450 3D up in smoke!!!
ORIGINAL: madmorgan wow you got free crash parts huh must be nice lol just remember it worked once keep in mind to leave about 3 to 5 mm clearance between the lipo and motor as i do not think that will happen (horizon sending you a whole replacement bird) ever again.
i didnt crash really just burnt up. i have salvaged all the good parts. to make another working heli i would need a frame, 1 linkage, and 1 servo then i could have 2 450 3d helis. i actually told Eflite that i thought i could get by with just these parts and they said no they will send me a new heli. they ended up sending me a BNF and lipo so i didnt end up with 2 dx6i's which was fair i thought. anyhow both items are due to be here on the 13th and i guess i will have to leard how to bind a tx which i have never done. what do you guys think would it be worth building another 450 3d or just have the spare parts? also if i were a guessing man with how Eflight was about sending this new one out i think even if somthing happend to the new one they would still work with me. right now i am still unsure if it was a battery fail or just the battery touching the motor. they only thing that makes me think the battery wasnt touching the motor is how fast it started on fire. i would have thought it would take a minute of flying not 5 seconds.

RE: New Blade 450 3D up in smoke!!!
even if what your saying is what i SHOULD do i would come back with this information should be in the manual which in turn wouldnt be user error but infact an error on E-flights end. i highly doubt after 4 flights i damaged the battery in such a way that made it fail as you say. also i didnt fly the helicopter for 15 minutes strait but in reality there were ajustments i was making with trim and such. i never ran the battery completly out i have mine set up for 6minutes actuall flight time so that i dont over discharge which is in the manual which i read. anyhow i did feel thrown under the bus a little but thats ok if that is your way of telling people what you think. i will look at getting some velcro for my packs.
ORIGINAL: madmorgan by the looks of the motor you had lipo to close to it, i caught 1 on my blade 400 luckily it only ruined 1 cell but it didnt go up. did you have a velcro strap around batt the will move around a bit if you dont use. sorry about your luck dude.
Yeah the velcro strap was in place. i am not positive if the lipo touched the battery or not i was just wondering if this could happend. not sure how to make sure the battery doesnt touch the motor without taping instead of the velcro cause even though i have it velcroed it can still slip i suppose. E-flight didnt even blink an eye about replacing this. i am telling you they sure made me a long term supporter of E-flight.

RE: New Blade 450 3D up in smoke!!!
It was my 5th full battery pack. i bought it monday and i flew 2 packs then 1 pack tuesday and 1 pack wednesday. then on thursday i made it 6 foot off the ground when the battery bursted and the smoke started coming. i would say each flight was 15 minutes or so. yeah i didnt get all the pictures i should have. there were some pretty big poofs of smoke that i would have liked to capture. i just got confirmation last night the the new 450 3d is on the way. not sure what they are sending me they said there were 3 options they were toying with. 1 BNF without battery and then send battery seperate 2 BNF with battery enclosed 3 RTF with everything i recieved on my first one any way they go i will be happy. if i do get another ready to fly i will prolly try and sell the 2 Dx6is and get one dx7.. i have stripped the heli at this point kept anything of value. one thing i wonder is has this happend to anyone else? i seriously wonder if the battery was touching the motor inflight and the friction started the blaze? any ideas on this?

where the heck is the best place to buy parts. i see on Ebay some pretty awesome rebuilds. but i already have a mcpx v2 and i am missing a tail boom. seems tail booms are what i go through most and i really want to get some decent parts for this thing.

New Blade 450 3D up in smoke!!!
You can see my original post from a few days ago when i bought a new 450 3d. I have had it since monday and love this dang thing it flys good for a newb like me. until... this was going to be my 5th flight and when i started lifting off the ground the bird started smoking pretty bad. the battery was the stock battery and i could tell when each cell on the battery would ignite because a big cloud of smoke would follow. i have many more photos of the carnage afterwards where the canopy is just a melted ball and the whole front of the heli is basically melted. i called E-flight and they had me send pictures and said they are sending me a replacement asap. they are not even going to require me to send in this one which i thought was quite nice. anyways this was my day how was yours. lol

48 hours in I must say I love this thing. I still don't fly with the nose torwards me but I do fly forward and hover rather well with 6 packs behind me. Great starter heli. What kinda maintenance do I need to do on this thing? Also where is the best place to buy more packs? Only being able to fly 15 minutes at a time is a bummer. Anyone know how durable this thing is in crashes? And how well does the 3d portion work? Can you fly 3d in intermediate mode?

Yes you are correct it is a EC3. cant believe the 235 doesn't come with this adapter. thanks for the information. Flew the new bird for a pack. did pretty well until i went to land even then not to much damage just snapped off one of the tail rotors in half. when i was landing the tail rotor hit a rock. still could fly it but took a lot more stick movement. i changed the rotor though and now back to normal. i have to say this is so much easier to fly than my mcp x.
