RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Would the traxxas velineon system from a 4x4 slash work for the MT2? Looking to run it on 3s

RE: Brushless E-Revo Thread
ORIGINAL: TheKennyKiller
ORIGINAL: LaTuFu The main thing you want is a metal gear servo with at least 250 oz torque. The stock servos are 125 each. As long as you have 250+ you're good to go. Unless you are planning to run really beefy tires like Big Joes or something like that, then you might want to give yourself a little more headspace than just 250.
The Hitec 645 has 133oz of torque so two of them would be ideal and you guessed it I have some big joes... The Hitec HS-7955TG has 333oz so I think I'm going to get it. Thanks for the info.
The 7955TG is a digital servo and will give you the full torque from idle (centre) Where as the 645 is still an analog servo so you will not get the full torque until it is at full travel. The digital also has a smaller deadband which will give you alot better centre.

Nice work, man it's quick! Please post your results! I'd still like to have mine setup for offroad though. Probably stay away from puddles, etc though!

Is that the stock (nitro) spur gear and slipper clutch or did you use another setup? Very interesting project, I'd like to go electric as the nitro noise anoys the neighbours would also allow me to play while my daughter is having a sleep.

The next one I paint I was thinking of doing a window tint with one of the tamiya smoke colours! I got a little frustrated while masking this one out but after seeing the finished product it was all worth it! My wifes rustler needs a new lid so I'll be odering a clear shell for that and we'll see what we come up with for that one.

I finished off the body today with the addition of a few decals. Just need to cut a hole in the windscreen for access to the fuel tank and some extra cooling air.

RE: POST YOUR WORKS HERE!
This is my first attempt at painting RC car bodies, I kept the design simple to make it some what easier. It has turned out ok I think, there are few few bleed out marks where I haven't seated the masking tape properly but other than that I'm pretty happy with it. Just need to add some decals and it's ready to go.

They are great on pavement, grass and hard packed dirt. Not so good on loose dirt or gravel. I only bash with this truck so its not such a big deal.

My firestorm body turned up today. Got it all trimmed and mounted. It fits quite well although it is not quite as wide as the original MT2 body. Just need to work out a colour scheme then I'll have a go at painting my first body. Will post some pics soon!

RE: O.S. 18CV-RX In HPI MT2
Mine is the MT2 G3.0, so if your truck is an older model it may have been different. I don't think it matters which one you use as long as the collet fits the crankshaft and the flywheel.

RE: O.S. 18CV-RX In HPI MT2
These are the stock parts for the MT2, not sure if the collet is the right size for your motors crankshaft, but other than that it should all fit. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCH=a990&search=Go http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCH=86891&search=Go http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCH=86869&search=Go http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBTA7&P=7

Well I got my diff all back together, haven't run the truck yet though. Hopefully get a chance this evening! I've been looking locally for a new body for the MT2 but I can not find any that will fit. I have found a firestorm body but I'm not sure if this will fit. Anyone tried this?

Excellent thanks for the link. I've pulled the diff appart and it's the bevel gears that are destroyed, the crown and pinion are still good but I may as well replace them while its all apart. Is it worth doing the front diff as well?

Anyone know where I can get a new rear diff, they not listed on the tower hobbies website? Or is there a good upgrade from the stock diffs? I think I have just shreded mine, haven't pulled it down yet but I pretty sure I have broken some gears.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Dusted of my MT2 and took it for a spin today. Some kids have made some good jumps at the back of the local park so I decided to test them out. Also took the dog to give her some exercise. She loves RC Cars and will chase them all day long if you let her. LOL. Ended the run on a bad note though. Something swamped the frequency I was on and the truck ranaway across the park flat out until it hit a tree. Busted the servo saver. Lucky I have a 2.4 radio on the way! Anyway here are some pics.

How are you guys keeping your bearings in the aluminium knuckles? I upgrades the knuckles on my truck to GPM parts and the bearing keeps popping out on the left hand side. Tried red locktite on the outer race and it still pops out. Any ideas?
