RE: Any RV Flyers Here?
I think that if you are a kit-builder, then the attitude you bring to that activity will definitely translate to the hobby. Aside from that, you will have a small learning-curve with all the new tools & techniques, but if you are good with your hands -and patient- ...and willing to do your research... (the forums at vansairforce.net are great!)... you should have very few problems. :)

RE: over heated engine
ORIGINAL: JohnBuckner If any actual damage did occur and I agree with Jester it simply sounds still lean, then suspect valve springs that may have lost their temper. I have no idea if this applies because I do not know if your installation is cowled but many, many folks have more problems simply because of the refusal to let enoungh air in especially even more air out. This of course requires cutting of the cowls and so many refuse to do this. Just a few thoughts John
Valve springs on a 91FX? I think not... :D

RE: Looking for my 1st build.
Here's a list of what I have for building. Sanding bars w/adhesive-backed sandpaper, various grits (Great Planes makes them, they are nice...very handy) Thin, Medium, and Thick viscosity CA CA spray kicker 30-minute epoxy T-pins Hobby/X-acto knives ...that's definitely enough to get you started. I will second the recommendation for the SIG Kadet. I learned by building SIG kits; their materials and manuals are the best! Once you have built a kit or 2, only then will you be ready for a plans only build, as you will have developed the basic skills and an eye for things. If you decide to go with the Kadet, post a build thread!

Wow. I just watched a video of a guy unpacking and demo-ing one of those engines. Maybe if I ever inherit a ton of money, or win the lottery... lol! Waaaay too sweet, Gray Beard!

I'm picking up a vintage Pilot Models Neiuport 28 in a week or so; I am hoping that it will be the right size for this engine. If not, then it looks like there's a BUSA kit in my future :)

RE: Sig Koverall Application Process
After you have applied the coats of dope to the solid area, you pretty much paint the fabric on. Start with dry fabric, and go from one end to the other with a wet brush. The surface tension of the liquid will cause the fabric to stick, and you're done :)

Radial engine recommendations?? Looking for a home for a Saito 120R3!
So I want to find a home for a Saito FA-120R3 radial. Or maybe a FA-200R3. Kit would be very much preferred- any suggestions? Especially a WWI-era bipe would be sweet, but whatever- give me some ideas, please!

Gang, I'm not sure how to switch my 14-ch Futaba receiver from Standard mode to High-Speed mode. The manual is not very clear. Can anyone tell me how this is done? Thanks in advance!
