RE: Congrats Scotty!
Thanks guys!!! Can't post pics from iPhone . I took my 80" BV Sabre. Had to work for this one. Right down to last flight. Very nice bunch of guys that can build and fly some nice planes! I think I only knew 2 people when I got there. Atleast made 2 dozen friends while there. Scott

RE: US Scale Masters Results 2012
ORIGINAL: abufletcher Thanks for the clarification. Congratulations on your winning model and winning flying skills!!!
Thanks , I did study the raw scores also and to my surprise is did effect final placement. Bob Patton and I briefly discussed if normalization would have made a difference. I guess it does? He had an awesome plane and flew it very well. Might have a Bulldog in my hanger one day. :) Congrats again Bob. Till next time. Scott

RE: US Scale Masters Results 2012
I didn't receive a perfect score for my F86F. The scoring system is showing 1000 points for winning high static which would also be scored to pilot who has best flight score in a round. I too could not imagine a perfect score unless built by Mr G Mears :) . This was my first visit to Scalemasters competition and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed meeting a bunch of friendly folks!! Also wanted to thank Mike Barbee for being my caller !! Thanks to the organizers and Mitch for their hard work!! Scott

RE: BAE Hawk vs F-16 (fun poll)
Interesting poll. I happened to have bothSM F16 and my new SM big hawk at Ky Jets. The Hawk wins in my book. F16 is a blast to fly but Hawk is a blast to land!! Basically a trainer As long as you don't get greedy and ge to slow. :) Funny thing is my wife thinks it's ugly too! Lol looks like shes wanting a Viper jet now! :)

RE: Llow time turbines for sale - Beware
Got a report today. Not pretty. Estimate around 2k :( No repairing this one. Thanks for all the input guys. By no means am I upset with JC. But I'm a little nervous about the guys talking about rust in their motors. Typically my stuff doesn't sit around so this shouldn't be an issue in future. Thanks Scott

RE: BVM Air Fill Valve- How do u get air in them?
Here's my idea that many are using. Football inflating needle cut off to 3/4 inch. Then slide 1 inch piece of air line on it. Just push in and seals at end of needle. Alittle thin CA will keep tubing from coming off after many uses. I'll try to get a pic out soon. Scott

RE: Talk to me about fuel filters
ORIGINAL: olnico I use the air trap as a filter. Never had a filter downstream the pump. Never had clogged injectors in 15 years flying turbines. I guess that the only risk that the filter may trap in this position is a fuel pump failure sending big chunks of bronze into the engine. But I've never seen or heard of this kind of problem happening.
Ive flown AMT for years using UAT only. Filter the fuel on your Fuel jug before it gets in your jet and you should have no worries. As far as my Jet Cat and Jet central turbines I use their filters on the pressure side of system between pump and solenoid. Has anyone actually had a restricted filter on these setups when also using a UAT? I would imagine that the only debris possible to get in filter would have to be pump matter. Scott

RE: D & B T2B Buckeye
Yup One of my favorite jets. I had one in the old days, OS91 Dynamax . Will have to dig around for pictures since it was before the internet was invented. lol Long main gear was always issue. Especially when engine quit. :( I actually have another partially built kit. Idiot I bought it from sawed the vertical into so it would fit in box. Saw one fly on small turbine. Would be neat project someday. Scott

Great idea and vids Guys! How about basic mix programming and explaining various mix programs such as servo over travel for another function (figured this one out myself but seriously think I did it the hard way) and mix switch controls functions. I never had a JR tx with the roller knob before i got the 10X so 12x was a new game altogether for me just navigating it. Once again great tutorial. Scott
