RE: BTE Delta Vortex Construction Photos
thomas, I am convicted that a side exhaust would be fine with the engine upright, by the way are you sure you didn't made a mistake in your last post ? a 2 Ampere battery won't fit nicely the wonder, lol [:-] Airbus driver, i thrully believe this bird doesn't need a tuned pipe and as mentioned in this thread i am a bit afraight with a bottom exhaust, in fact all the servos are apparent outside the botttom, and would suffer due to residues, loose one aileron on a conventional bird you will be ok, loose a elevon due to bearings probs you can kiss your ass goodbye in the case of a delta. Thomas, a internal tuned pipe is impossible, i haven't th plans of this bird anymore but i know mine, simply impossible !!!!!!!!

RE: BTE Delta Vortex Construction Photos
Thomas, i suggested Sir Lance in a private mesage to go with a jett 90, it has same dimensions than the 91 fx and will turn the good prop at very high rpm...... Sir Lance, I don't think the idea off a double battery setup is a good Idea, my feeling about the DV is "keep it simple ", by the way it's your airplane now, and it's strange it's not in your hands, the day the guy of your compagny picked it home you informed me that it was in the hands of fedex are they sleeping in fedex ?

RE: BTE Delta Vortex Construction Photos
strykaas, making a longer nose gear is impossible it would retract in the wing spars, make a longer engine box will mean that the bird will need lead in the ass, a ton of it.... mine wth a relatively light weight engine balance with a shortened engine box perflectly with a 2000 mah nickad fully backward and needed to switch from the 3 hinces original wheel to a 2.75 one in order to clear the wing spars

RE: BTE Delta Vortex Construction Photos
strykaas, what do you think about the altitude solution? a jett engine powered one or à goud for strokes ? I think à 120 four strokes should be nice but theyre is a problem, the prop clearance.........

frenchie, just tilt a bit the engine down with two small washers at the back of your engine mount, it's my opinion only of course this suggestion mean your cg is good

RE: Sig wonder Plan
there friend strykaas, i think the .15 La (brand new ) was the best engine to power this small bird, soorry if i made a mistake ! the . 25 version is more heavy, need some mods and don't give any best result................ your friend salmonbug

RE: BTE Delta Vortex Construction Photos
I builded for the the third time a spacwalker coming from sig, again the maiden flight turned bad (i was not in comand), the fuse broken in hard landing, if Bruce has still contact with sig, I would recfomand to modify the fuse, in fact this fuse is made in two parts with a weak point, but i Think that Sig is not going to modify the kit, we are in the ARF destination; too bad

RE: BTE Delta Vortex Construction Photos
I think I am a lucky guy, my only 91fx is flying on my dv (see above in the thread the building of this bird), this bird is now loging 500 flights aproximatly with the same 91 fx in the nose. The engine start at the first chicken stick hit and never stopped in flight, I never had to change any part of the engine..... but i have to admit that before the first flight i performed a extensive carrefull breaking in of the engine. the engine is still pulling my old dv in unlimited verticals. I think the secret is in the fuel I use, home made mixture..... Actualy I am very sick and don't have a lot of time to go to the field, I worked in the passed in a major european rc compagny as designer and test pilots, I have tons of birds home, but the dv is still my favorite DV is my avatar on RCU, it's because the DV has been been design by one one of the best guy in the model world, I flown most of Bruce's design, they are simply perfect..... (Bruce shorten the nose of the the dv on the next batch, lol)

RE: SIG Kommander
hello Bruce, in fact I checked the box and it's a claude design I flown it and have to say it's not is best best one . to me kadet senior and king kobra are claude's masterpieces. I am still waiting news from you about availabity of two pulso, in fact I needt them at this time of the DW building friendly Phil concerning the venture, I have one higly modified on one of my building boards, bruce shipped me the venture 60 plans and I resized it to a 120 version, to do that I ordered sig a four star 120 wing kit and i am scratch building a fuse and tail assembly, should be an excelent flyer with a saito 150 in the nose. The only modification I made on the design of the fuse is resizing the lenght of the front section to get good balance without lead
