We also have a stricklly indoor cat thats fat as can be and we can tell she misses him as well, he was her play buddy. Shes been acting really strange the last couple of days.

Lost my shop buddy last night
Well I dont have a question, nore do I have an answer but I thought I would share the passing of my shop buddy that ment alot to me. About this time last year a kitten of about 7-8 weeks old showed up, I didnt need a cat, didnt want a cat but here he was. He stuck around and every night he would be out in the shop with me. Long story short I ended up keeping him, took him down and had him fixed and such, I could allways count on him being there right in the way wanting attention like normal, I cant tell you the amount of modles he HELPED me with. Anyway so this morning at 5:30 am I get a call from my nabour saying hes been run over and out in the street dead. Now normally id be like ok but for some reason this is hitting me like a ton of bricks, im sure gonna miss the little guy. Even worse is I still have to tell my wife and 13 year old daughter. Ive got a couple of pics of him out in the shop laying on his bed. his name was Roofus, I called him Dufas. These arnt the best pics but all I have for now.

RE: Telemaster engine??
Ive got some fuel I mixed up thats a 5% blend that I made for the super tiger 3000, im not real sure exactly how I made it while just sitting here but I can go out to the shop and look at what I wrote on the bottle, I knew I would forget the mix make up so I just wrote it on the jug. Id like to at least try the the engine but dont want a head ache to deal with either. The saito .65 and the mds .68 are the only two engines I have on hand that will power this plane with out going and buying a new one.

RE: Older Engines
I really disagree with the crock pot method as it will turn the caseing black if you over do them, and I have. I find its best to heat them up as said earler rather it be with a heat gun or my choice of putting them in the oven at 350F for 10 min. start them in it cold and let them slowly come up to temp as the over heats up. You might need to remove any orings or plastics that might be on them. At that point is when I normally break them down and order new bearings and rebuild it. Either way its a neet way to learn how to tear a engine apart and rebiuld it. Ive got 2 saito .65 that Im rebuilding now. Thats one of my passions at swap meets is to find older engines and rebuild them. Good luck and enjoy.

RE: Telemaster engine??
Thanks john, I how ever have a new in the box MDS .68 two stroke thats needing a new home but I know nothing about MDS engins so I have been hestent to use it. I guess I could mount it on the test stand and run it and see if I might like it. I won it in a raffle at a club funtion and have had it about 2 years now, might very well be the time to blow the dust off the box and open it up. Ive thought the saito .65 would be a bit small but allso thought it would keep things intresting.

I like it.

RE: fuel proof spray paints?
I made a stop by the locale shop and picked up some silver lustercoat, Ive got every thing masked off now and have three coats on the alirons now and two coats on the tail surfaces with one more coat to go. I really think this is going to turn out nice. I will post pics of the completed job when done, Im thinking next week she should be ready to fly.

Telemaster engine??
Ive got a rather large telemaster that im currently working on, I aquired it as a started kitt thats allready been coverd and ready for hardware. The wingspan is 8ft and the fuse is roughly 61" what size do you guys think this would be? allso do you think a saito 65 will power it? Im thinking it will but might be gutless at best. Anyways thats whats on the shelf and needing a plane to go on. I currently have it all masked up now getting some fresh paint on the tail section, I hope to post pics of it once shes fixed and ready to fly, I just love to find old wrecks and fix them to flying status again.

RE: over heated engine
I just looked at tower hobbie for the parts to fix it, all I can say is its just gonna be a paper weight for a while. I cant get over how exspensive these parts are. piston 39.99 ring 21.49 sleave 71.99 total 133.47 before shipping yes it has turned out to be a costly mistake for sure!

RE: over heated engine
First of all I just want to say thank you for all the input and help and secondly I want to say is that my engine, well its dead! I just went out to pull the head off of it and when I went to remove the head the sleave had welded its self to the head as it pulled out when I lifted the head off of the block, inside the sleave is deap pitted scars and the piston and ring are scared up really bad to. At this point Im asuming its just a parts engine. Costly mistake on my part, but wont happen twice!

RE: over heated engine
LOL, john you had me worreid there for a moment, Paul ive changed many sets of bearings and thats not a problem to do I just havent figured out why its running so hot? I do have some klotz oil , havent tried none of that yet its still mounted in the run up stand so I will give it another go first chance I get, as of now Ive got a 14-6 prop on it thinking it would not wind it up to a high rpm when its running.

over heated engine
Hello all well I think I trashed my os .91FX, I run to small of a prop on it and over done it. I had mounted a 13-4 on it hoping to get more tork out of it and I did for the short flight that it lasted, my fault all the way. So my question is what can I do to salvage it? new sleve? new piston? or could have the block warped aswell? Ive never done this so its a tough pill to swallow. I putt a larger prop on it and run it in the test tsand but it wont run but just a minute then if I try to advance the trottle it just knocks and dies plus it gets hotter than hell in that short run time. All most looks like a parts engine at this point.

RE: Help with info on this Super Tigre engine
I dont have any usefull info for you to use but im really curious how turning the case will work as a pusher. I understand the theory of the mufler faceing the right direction but i just cant get past how the prop would turn becouse of the muffler being in its way. Am I missing something here? Or am i just not understanding?

RE: Can I get parts?
LOL yea kinda at this point! Im a big time trader, swaping buying selling you name it im game. I do want to learn to fly really bad, but im not about to go out and hurt myself or anybody else just to learn, nor tear my stuff up either. This is really my off season as its just so damm hot around these parts, its been averaging about 105F-110F every day lately so thats when I do alot of willing and dealing on stuff ive aquired. Yes ive aquired a few helis, but got smoking sweet deals on all of them one way or another. I want to find some one local thats willing to work with me and willing to teach me the do's and dont's of the hobby but finding some one who wants to get out in this heat is slim to none im sure so ill keep watching the youtube videos and online forums and learn what I can while I wait for it to cool off a bit, might even make another trade or two while I wait.

Battery help please
Hello all, so I just purchased a century predator carbon 90 nitro, it is set up with a double 7.4 Li-ion battery pack so makeing it 14.8 V. My question is? Is that normal? I was told the digital servos use a ton of juice and that was the best pack at the time it was flying wich was a few years ago. Could I or should I switch over to a 14.8 lipo now? How can I charge the Li-ion battery? and test it? I dont currently have a pic of the battery but I do have a pic of the heat disapator, or heat sink i guess its called? That it plugs into. Im looking to hopely set this up so one day I can fly it with the right teachings.

Hello all, so i purchased a large heli the other day and it has a double pack 7.4 2200 mAh battery pack in it. Im not looking to fly with it but I do want to know how to properly charge it and test it, can anyone help me out here? There are two packs bundled together so im guessing total volts would be 14.8?

RE: Can I get parts?
Ok so here it is, ive had it looked at by an exspert and according to him its in A+ shape, was told that its easly worth double what I paid for it and I hope you guys would agree. Its a nice heli, its actully scary as hell to me and Im not sure if I should learn to fly it or sell to some one who could handle it. It has a YS 91 ST engine, 3-futaba S9252 servos, 1hitec 525BB high speed throttle servo and a 601 gyro with a futaba S9251 servo. Batter setup is a lipo setup with a heat disapater ( not sure what its actully called) Its all carbon fiber except a few fuse peices and I have all of those in carbon fiber as extras. I was told no need in replaceing them untill a major crash or for cracks. Guys im reall excited about this but scared as hell too. Im afraid I would just tear it up!
