The best tire for your buck are raikou Drift tires. They offer different type of compound for every application and surface.

RE: TA05 VDF need advice
My suggestion is you go spectrum tx/rx 3.0 & Novak brushless 8.5 that's what I use on my vdf never had a problem.

A friend once told to use the right tool for the job, tb03, ta05 and the sprint 2 flux are great rollers, I have a VDF and will not touch my other drifters.

if you drifting for fun a tamiya black can motor is more than enough, if going against someone in a comp, try if can sensored motor, NOVAK 8.5 good, just my 2 cents.

finding the ultimate drift chassis is a challenge, things to looks for are surface and usage, "rec / bashing or straight up comps" technical layout or just dots. the more advance the chassis the better your drift, I recently purchased a VDF to see what all the hipe was about, it worth the money in my opinion. Even as I started HPI RS4 to Tamiya's TL-01, TT-01, TB-02, TA-04Pro, shaft is good belt is better. In my opinion you get a better response from your chasis.

For more steering angle use a JR racing servo arm set, about $7 bucks at LHS use the longest one it's about 1.5-2 inches long.

I would drive a Nissan 350z or a 2010 camaro, but where would I transport my rc equipment and kids. I settled for a chevy tahoe, will not do a mini van.
