Parallel is going to give you faster speeds but shorter runtimes. This diagram may help. The EVX battery wires are wired in series. http://www.teamnovak.com/tech_info/how_to/dual_motors/index.html

The esc should be fine with a balloon on it. It shoudn't get hot as long as you stay within the escs' motor limit. I am running a couple of clods with Trinity Monster Maxx mild motors and some EVX 14.4 and 16.8 volt version and the esc's are cold to the touch when runnig them.

I wouldn't use two different motors. Just becuase the turn are the same it doesn't mean that thet will perform the same!! One motor can have more torque than the other ect...ect..ect. and if that is the case, you will damage your esc and gearboxes. Here is a guide that explains motors and everything you need to know about them. http://www.rcmt.biz/bd/showthread.php?t=55

Now that Ithink of it, I don't think the dig function on the computer will work with the AX10. I think it will only work in Clod applications or where two seperate motors and gearcases are used. They do make a 4ws computer also http://www.clodmodracing.com/products/index.php?product=Dual%20Steer

RE: Now many converted from nitro to electric
I think that more people are converting over now to, because of brusless and lipo technology. The electrics can be or are faster than nitros. I havn't had to do much maintenance on my electrics besides replace brushess and some gears. I spend a lot less time working on them compared to the nitro stuff, that means more play time[:D]

You can also go this route and get one of these. This computer will allow you to have all dig funtions and 4ws funtions and the ability to turn them on and off in a instant with just a 3 channel radio. I am using one it it works!!! Takes a little time to learn how to program but well worth it. http://www.clodmodracing.com/products/index.php?product=Computer

I took the EBR setup out for some snow bashing and I started to have problems with the mounts sliding on the links, so I went ahead on ordered the 3/16 collars. It seems to only be a problem when the links are wet and become slippery. I shoudn't have anymore problems after I install the collars. I will post a update when they are installed.

I don't know of to many people using those motors. 14 turns should get that Clod moving really good. A long term review on those motors would be great. Good luck with them and beat the snot out of it.[:D]

THe mounts are ready to be installed onto the links without any modification. They come in a bag of asorted sizes. There are 4 of the 3/16 size and 4 of the 1/4 size and 4 of the 5/8 size. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103305

I am refering to the clamp style mounts on a 4 link type suspension clod.

RE: Super Clod Buster Build-up Thread
Another thing on my EBR setup that I forgot to mention is if you are going to set yours up as I did, then you need to reverse the links so that the ball is closest to the frame. This will prevent the ball from interfaring with the clamp style mount. Nice clod, hmvwgunner50. I still need to build myself an all stock clod!!

RE: Super Clod Buster Build-up Thread
I havn't had any problems with the clamp type mounts slipping. What I did was wrap some heat shrink tubing around the link so the clamps would not slip. You will need clamps that are 3/16. I got my clamps from Bret at CPE, you can call him and see if he has any left. Radio shack carries them in the proper size. If I start to have problems with them slippng, I will go to a locking type collar Such as the one below. http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMPXNO=5404195&PMT4NO=56275642

Call Darren up at Thunder Tech and explain your situation , Darren is a great guy to deal with and will take the time to answer any questions you will have. As for the system I am using, you are correct. I am using the CPE system. Here are the links to the parts you need. You will need to drill a hole in the axle brace. http://www.crawfordperformanceengineering.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_48&products_id=57&osCsid=2f596728e055f8c47a4319a57f6874c6 http://www.crawfordperformanceengineering.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_48&products_id=82&osCsid=2f596728e055f8c47a4319a57f6874c6 Another alternative for a steering set up would be the New Era setup. http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=2194 http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=2191

RE: Super Clod Buster Build-up Thread
Mounting the links to the top of the axles will not work with this chassis I have been there and tried it. The links hit the axles. Looking at the chassis, you could try to mount the links from the shock mounting holes to the top of the axle. But the links would still hit the cross braces on the chassis. I have my motors wired in parallel using one of these http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPTT6 I am using a 4200mah battery and the speeds are good for what I am using it for, probably around 30 mph.
