RE: Battery to opperate servos
If im correct that will be too much voltage for a reciver, they normally use up to 7.2volts but most are 6-6.6v. Here is a link for batteries i use from Gizmo. http://www.gizmomotors.com/index.php/online-shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=646&category_id=13 The one below is what i was using before the Life batts were introduced to me. Works just as good but Life holds voltage higher for a longer period. Can run two days straight on one Life charge...i wouldn't dare try run two days without a charge using the Venom batt, even though i use fail safe. http://www.gizmomotors.com/index.php/online-shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&product_id=210&category_id=13

I would say try a 90* also or even a 2" offset depending on how close pipe is to radio box.

RE: First Boat
I run my full mod 29's for 12mins minimum during our races with 500ml(16oz.) fuel easy. Use 1000ml(32oz) fuel bags for our 30min enduro heats. Do you want ready to run or are you building yourself? Would you prefer cat or mono (depending on water conditions you wish to run in)? Size range hull your looking for? All depends on the budget too....can get expensive!!!

RE: Zenoah 260 PUM
The Gizmo $41 kit is just a stock 260 cyl. The WHH $90 M5 kit is pretty much a mild mod (compared to their a full race cylinders).....and they run good.[;)] One of my customers purchased one that i put on his zen260 to replace his stock top end and it definitely came alive. He purchased his 48" challenger from aeromarine ready to run with stock 260 that ran 42/43mph with stock prather 275....tried again with same setup, just M5 top end bolted on and 49.8mph later. He was very happy and by time i tweaked a little more he was having fun at our local pond.[:D]

RE: hull help
A twin is definitely not good for a starter boat. All 3 boats that i listed earlier are all capable of 60+mph with single motors....including the MTI cat! If 2K is his budget than he better leave out the idea of building a 60"+ boat with twins to do 60+mph. A good mod motor starts off in the $500 range. Going fast is definitle for someone on a budget....it cost $ to go fast dude!!!

I gotta give you guys tons of respect for the honest answers you replied to the gentlemans question! I tell people the same thing even with the real offshore powerboats "the most power doesnt necessarily mean your gonna win the race!"

RE: Stepped Hulls, yes or no
I never said that they dont like rough water, some jus dont favor conering in rough water and some do. In my earlier post you will see that i said how my SV loves calm or rough water....just doesn't favor cornering as much as the gtx or fountain. Read it again buddy!!! Than again how rough of water do you run your 46" boat in???[:D]

RE: Stepped Hulls, yes or no
Hey Mario...no were not fighting![:D][:D] But yeah you are correct, some like and some dislike. Yeah i did see the video but since i coudn't see the set-up it is harder to tell. The way the hull is set-up can be a cause but will have to see first hand. Have a look at the Pacer 70 from Big Tee racing....thats a good handling proven hull if you ask me. Or you can just go with the Hunter if you really like it since you've seen and like how it runs. But don't let the step bottom hulls dis-courage you...i love them![8D]

Should have mine in the next few months...will be shorter than the ones your making. And an exact scale version off the real boat.

RE: Stepped Hulls, yes or no
stateside is because theyre not allowed to race them so the only boats you see there with steps... by an 1" and my central rc fountain by 3" and the gtx and fountain turn a lot better... and they too mentioned how the steps affect the boats turning. They have turned the real boat over

The Hunter is a nice boat and should definitely be able to handle the seas. I really like and most likely will buy the MHZ 63" XXX Muscle fountain for my next project later in the summer. And not to mention if MHZ do come out with the Lucas Oil model....i will definitely get one of them. I love that boat![:D]

RE: Stepped Hulls, yes or no
[quote]ORIGINAL: goodson A stepped hull will have more stern lift in smooth water and will ride on 3 or more points on the keel for more stability. When the water gets choppy, the additional aeration in the back can cause instability in corners. This is what I've read, seen, and experienced in my years on 1:1, and scale boats. Not all stepped hulls are engineered the same, either. Making

at all. I now own 2 66" SV43 from Germany, expresscraft gtx, central rc fountain. Some non stepped boats i have onwed are numerous apache 50's and 56's (std and cut down versions.... The expresscraft gtx and central rc fountain hull i can enter corners without coming off throttle like i can with the seaducer and hurricane mono. Oh.....and i don't use turn fins any of my boats over 50

RE: neww hull
All depends on the set-up experience that the person with the boat has in order to go fast. Because there are 2 motors doesn't necessarily mean it will be fast. In our club we have a variety of boats (cat/mono) and engines (gas/nitro) from 48"-72" with single 25cc up to twin 29cc (twin 35cc max size). Sad to say that the single engine 28's/29's/30's are dominating

There is plenty info on the other site on these hulls. myself and hotrods have the victory cat hulls which are pretty much similar to the mystic hulls. just got mine to do 70mph (with more[:D]) and hotrods is knocking on 75mph,both with single redline 29.5cc with hot pipes.

I would recommend adding a few $ to that $400 and buy a brand new K30 or 29.5 that will run the same speed OR better than the QD35 will depending on set-up.

RE: SEEKING PROP RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EXPRESSCRAFT THUNDERBOLT W/ QUICKDRAW HT
You will notice the 3 blades will give you more lift than the 2 blades....but give them a try and see how they work. Might work with your set-up. I like to test with GPS and tach installed which also helps me know which direction to go for best rsults.
