RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom
Dom, Are you going to First in Flight in Wilson, NC? I am intending to do the maiden there on my F-4. It is an excellent pilot friendly event.

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom
Yeahbaby,Thanks! It took my breath away when I opened the box last August. My favorite airplane in my favorite colors! Pete Goldsmith helped me with the construction (More like built the thing) and did the weathering. He freaked me out with the weathering before rubbing it out with steel wool. I'll attach a photo. Well evidently I won't. Don't have this posting thing figured out yet.I wish I could have tracked Dom's thread during my build so I could have benefited from his experiences. Although the scale is not the same they are more similar than different. I had more room but had many of the same issues, good and bad. I liked the way he approached the construction and the care he took to get it all right. Although I am "Finished" I will go back and inspect and redo some of the steps based on his information. For all of the ranting and personal attacks that can take place on these threads, Dom's posts makes sifting through all that worthwhile.

Dom, I have been trying (Unsuccessfully up until now ihope) to post a photo of my F-4 so you will recognise it in Kentucky. Here goes. Photo post attempt #3, this time from a PC.

RE: Maj. Woody's X-Treme Jets F-4C Phantom
Dom, I just read this build thread start to finish WOW!! Not only have you built a beautiful model, you have created a magnificent build thread. Your comments were clear and concise and you posted lots of relevant, well done pictures. I learned a lot, thank you for sharing your expertise and thank you for the hard work you put into this thread. Since seeing the Thunderbirds flying F-4's at Transpo '72 I have had an irrational passion for F-4's. I think it was hearing or more accurately, feeling those 12 J-79's pounding out tons of smoke, thrust and noise. I just finished the large Skymaster F-4 a week ago and hope to first flight it at Wilson NC First in Flight event in May. I also have reservations for Kentucky jets, hope to shake your hand there and say thanks again. Tried to post a picture but was unable to do so with this iPad. Steve Stricker
