RE: Off topic - rant
Jackson, you are spot on! Enjoy the five stars (where do we redeem these for RC points and free stuff??? ). Tanque, it's good to get that stuff off your chest. Some folks guilty of English defilement may even take note, but I wouldn't get my hopes up until bad teachers are eradicated rather than coddled by certain "special interests" that have power as a motive rather than good teaching. Nonetheless, as long as we can communicate and understand each other in our posts here, all in friendly love of these wonderful models, all is well. I'm a plane and fish guy, but here's where I do my ranting, if you'd like to join in: http://rcfightersforfreedom.blogspot.com/ Note: offsite ranting for mature (voting age) American and other folks (English, please!) who are liberty and politically minded and who also might want to talk about the sport of R/C with no worry of offending anybody easily offended BY THE TRUTH.. Good luck on your mission.

RE: E-flite Hawker Hurricane !!!
"He's mad I tell you, mad!" And I'm back at RCU taking a break from fly fishing for redfish and sharks and demons, oh my, to have a go at these wonder birds again. Did you see about the new, "Drone University" on the web lately? If they don't snap and realize that "drone" is remotely piloted I think we're seeing spooky dehumanization here, which is always one of the warning signs of nasty things in the making. Hey they can't forget about we loons on the little sticks, right? Mad, I've been delaying work on a new book but I've made some rather direct blog writings at my site about the seemingly willing abdication of American liberty to the power-hungry by some, the fight against it by others, my escape from it in flyfishing, and of course the little birds we love to fly in liberty while we still have it. http://rcfightersforfreedom.blogspot.com/ NOT FOR THE IMMATURE nor the easily spooked. It is to teach and to offer up solutions for sticky situations that crop up in in fishing, flying and living free. Because if we do not live in a free society, we are not allowed to fly our birds. Please add your opinions and let fly in American Liberty while we still have it. Today's Question: when you put your bird in a turn and notice she loses altitude, have you ever used opposite rudder to keep her nose up and keep her from dropping altitude? Or, do you overcome it mostly with throttle? Some birds I've noticed really have a propensity to lose altitude on turns. Respond! Our liberty in flight depends upon it! #56 out, but not out of the game.

RE: ParkZone UM T-28 Brotherhood+Mods
I'm shy on the rudder, too, KC, but keep her active as I noticed when a bird loses altitude in a turn a little opposite rudder will put her nose up and keep her from that maddening loss of altitude. I prefer just mellow stuff right now, as I've about forgotten how to fly these birds from being away from the sport for months. I might drive her into the ground with dumb thumbs if I get fancy. Man, this little T-28 is one kick- bird!

RE: E-flite UMX Beast BNF
Yo, Buster! Your symptoms make me think: BATTERY POWER. You might have a bad one if she's doing that fully-charged. I'd look into that, and if a new batt doesn't fire her up then....one: there's a bigger battery available from HH or, two: something else is wrong and I haven't a clue and would send the bird back if someone else doesn't chime in here. Also the AS3X system, if it's running the servos to balance the bird all the time it eats into the flying time. Good luck and full throttle!

RE: ParkZone UM T-28 Brotherhood+Mods
Yo, Fuzzy, Waffle's got this one I guess. What I did was program in about 70% throw on the surfaces through the DX6i to start with on one of each of the toggle switch positions (I put any altered throw on switch position "1" and keep position "0" virgin) . It'll slow everything down a bit, she won't fly off the handle when your thumbs do, and you'll maybe get a better feel to start with. Then if you want to make her react quickly, just flip the toggle switches and you're at full throws. You can also slow her response down from "spazzy twitchy" thumbs by programming in say, 50-100% negative expo on the same switch position. And you can also end up way over-programming in stuff when you really just need to get out and fly these little babiesI sure do!

I'm glad to see PZ address scale issues and come out with more accurate product. Now, will it be BETTER???? I bet it will, but I'm hoping to hear of the changes made and their effects, the differences in the two models. Be careful on the front, dear Mad! There's "mad" which is, really, okay; then there's "mean", which is what the enemies of liberty are, which ain't okay.

RE: Spektrum Ultra Micro Singing Servo Noise
Hey, with the AS3X birds close at hand for an inspection, powered up, there's so much noise going on I can't tell what's what to isolate a source. If you're like me, as long as they work and don't stick they're absolutely teriffic. When they stick they're the scourge of the earth . For light weight, they're a marvel but the "worm" gear is maybe the complete weak link here. Creating an alternative to eliminate the slot connection from motor to the control rod altogether is the crux. I'm thinking a direct gear connection. Gotta be something less problematic.....Gotta love these little "problems".

RE: Survey: Micro Motor Endurance
Impressive service life, considering cost/combat useage . It's amazing the little linear servos don't throw off their little track or stick more often. It's only happened to me a couple times and not in flight. Now, back to the next generation of Micro Weaponry (tm): the .5mm. gattling gun and the heavy-hitting 2mm infrared-seeking rocket with Micro Explosive warhead.

Hey thanks for the tip, nave88 . That could be a go-to battery for the T-28 and other micros when we add LED lights to them so we can fly them 24-7.
