RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
Well if I were to wanna run anohter charger off it would it drop below 12v? To be safe I just should add another resistor? Easy enough now that I know how to do it.

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
ORIGINAL: mrasmm looks like you put them in series, that should make your voltage go down, run them in parallel and it should make it go up =) The higher you are above 12v the better you are because chargers run more efficient at higher voltages, which basically means less heat in the charger. As long as you are above 12v though for most chargers you will be good to go =) As far as amp draw check out the ammeter in your dmm, those are usually rated to 10A, and mine measures about 18 to 20 before the fuse blows =P (shh I didn't tell you that)
Sorry for the newbness but how do I wire them? Tried the meter on the 10amp setting and it kicks off my PS, whats that mean? Im sure its more then capable for me, its a 650watt ps and I bought lesser PS alread coverted off a guy on another forum and I run 3 chargers off it with no probs.

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
All back together, just waiting to see if I need another resistor but the one I have now is bolted under the top of the case, you can see the 2 screws where its mounted at. It is pretty much cold to the touch, plus the fan is right there blowing on it and in the rear of the PS is another fan sucking air out. I had some thermal grease from my pc upgrade so used some of that as well [8D] Thanks for the help so far [sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
Did nt get a chance to get a bulb but made it to the electronics store. Now they didnt have the 1ohm resistors but the old timer knew what I was doing and said this little bugger would do the trick? Its pretty kool looking with the heatsink around it and it matches my gold PS! Now the thing im wondering from you pros is its a 8ohm 25watt, think it will be ok? RE: How to convert an ATX power supply to rc use
What about the light bulb method? Any comments on using those? The one guy said his was ok with it, I assume its a 1157 bulb? Im heading to my electronics shop now and will grab the 4 1 ohm resistors anyway just incase the bulb idea is no good. Thanks.

RE: Which Spread Spectrum Brand is Recommended for Savage?
I just made the switch to 2.4ghz and bought the spektrum dx3.0 with 2 rx for $205! I use it in my savage, clod and stampede, in my savage its been flawless, where my airtronics mx3 would loose range this keeps on going, matter of fact to the point I can barely see it! For a basher I say their great and highly doubt you will notice the milliseconds faster teh other radios say they are.

RE: SavageX...Tuning My Mach 427 ???????????????
Ok I have been using the Sure Fire #3 Platinum/Iridium plug from racers edge, they are a hot plug. I will try a 9 instead. I was also told that these motors should be ran on 25%, any truth to that? Thanks again.

RE: SavageX...Tuning My Mach 427 ???????????????
Hi I have one of these in my savage as well, I have run around of quart of 20% through it so far. I was told these hold a tune very well but im not noticing this! Seems I gotta mess with it everytime. My question is whats a good pipe for it? Im using a vantage cf pipe right now and was wondering if its good or bad with it. Also I have heard of swapping the carb for something else, whats the reason for this? Better speed or for tuning? Also im in CA so whats the best plug for it? Im using a hot plug right now. Thanks for any help.
