RE: Dale Gribble... Exterminator. Now an award winning painter.
Awesome work Dale, I like how the shocks ,wheel nuts and beadlock rings go along with the paint scheme.

RE: Any Tips for Putting Body Post Holes in Finished/Paimted Bodies
I use trinity no brainers http://www.brockmodels.com/product_info.php?products_id=6722&osCsid=7itg667mo2sen873fpkvv1pqs2 They are being discontinued but they can still be found. Before I got those I would put a dab of wood glue on the body post and then try to center the body on the post but that was a pain. But it did work the wood glue would get on the body and I would no where to put the holes. The wood glue was also easy to clean off the body posts when done.

RE: Offcial xxx-t thread
ORIGINAL: Chris_RC I will try that gearing. And how often do you rebuild your transmission? Because I have heard that the Losi tranies arne't that good on their trucks and when I built it I might have not put enough diff grease in the tranny. I have about 15 runs on it with a crappy motor and it goes about 20-25MPH.
Losi trannys not that good?? lol your funny. It all depends on the user, I dont rebuild until something goes wrong. But if you put the tranny together rite it should last awhile. Ive had it last me almost a year b4 I had to rebuild it.

RE: Soldering iron
The only way to ruin things with a 60 watt is to hold it on the solder joint to long. I used 30 watts for a while and it took longer to solder stuff, With the 60 watt things go a lot quickerand I get much better connections.

RE: Traxxas Slash Vs Losi Desert Truck, which is better?
ORIGINAL: hpiguy
ORIGINAL: PENGUINBLASTER!!! You can't turn a Slash into a well handling RC like the XXX-T (which is what the DT is based off of) with any available parts. Same goes for most traxxas cars. The slash is only designed to look good and handle the VXL, It will not accelerate in a straight line, no matter how easy you are on the throttle, it will push while cornering to the point that you won't know if your steering servo is even working. It will not jump higher than 3 inches without bouncing and flipping over. 2wd and tiny wheels and tires? What do you expect?
Wow, here's another fanboi using no facts, just brand loyalty. Your comments have all been proven false. Every one.
Id like to know how his comments were proven false? The slash will never handle as good as a xxx based chassis. Brand loyalty?? I bought aa rusty xl-1 when I first got into R and it was JUNK I was lucky to be able to run a full pack through it. My next purchase was a losi mf2 and i can run it all day with no problems, even bashing the heck out of the mf2 didnt phase it. The handleing is great and its a great basher even though it isnt made for bashin. My 3 yr old son ran it over 3 times with his power wheels 4-wheeler and didnt break anything.. Ive noticed that most traxxas owners upgrade just about everything on it Which is not needed with a losi. You get quality from the start. Sorry if I mispelled nything its bike week and im enjoying it, ALOT...

RE: Diff question.
ORIGINAL: xXxCellARatOr i c, yeah thats what i was thinking. only thing is most of the time hardware stores dont have these specific sizes that our RCs use. Like for example the diff bearings have a specific size that u cant find ANYWHERE. i called so many bearing retailers and they were all stunned when i told them the specifications. But anyways, thanks, ill take a look and see what they have. Hopefully ill find something.
Ya its a hit or miss. You may get lucky and find them at a hardware store. Good luck and if I find anything ill let ya know.

Check a hardware store. Just make sure the ones you get are steel cause thats what the original ones are made of. Im sure a hardware store would have them cheap.

RE: how to paint rims?
ORIGINAL: need_to_drift i was just wondering how i could paint rims for my rc cars. mainly my savage and nitro tc3
As far as I know the paint will chip/flake off. your better off dyeing them with RIT dye. Of course if the rims are black then you wont be able to dye them I dont think. If you do paint them get paint meant for plastic (Krylon Fusion is 1) and clean the rims real good so the paint sticks good.

RE: need help battery/charger
ORIGINAL: javamaan My son got a RC suv as gift from overseas. It uses a JIADE lead acid battery not a regular battery pack. My issue is that the charger is 220v can't be used in US. I have spare Radio shack charger for 9.6v Nimh/NiCd battery pack. Can i use it on the lead acid one? The overseas charger has these output characteristics: DC 6v/200mA. The lead acid battery is rated 6v/700mA. The radio shack output is : DC 12V/280mA. They both have the standard connector for battery packs. Can you anybody give alternatives if this is not viable? Thanks.
Hey another NH guy. It sounds like you need to put in a 220 outlet. You could just get a different charger but then you would probably have put the connector from the 220 charger onto the new 1. Which wouldnt be as hard as putting a 220 outlet in your house. Walmart has some cheap lead acid chargers in the auto dept.
