RE: guestion about after run oil
If you are using a high quality fuel that has a good lubricant in it, after run oil is really not needed. IF you are buying the cheapest fuel in the shop then you probably need to use it.

RE: Redcat!!! Your kidding me, right???
We all noticed the pricing on the new aluminum parts. As Darin has come in and posted it was an error on their end. I have been dealing wiht Redcat for almost 3 years and will bet you will be refunded your money. If you paid with a CC, it can only and will be refunded to your CC account. Did you call Redcat and talk to anyone about the over payment?

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
I was a dealer before the RC deal. I have the ATV's in the shop. The R/C deal was some cool things to have as well. On a scale of 1-10 the truck is a 2. Most of them anyway. The only thing I can guess is quality control. The Chinese are very hard to deal with on this level. Especially if you are not the "exclusive" buyer. The Hurricane is a 9, no such thing as a 10. I am not here to offer excuses for RC, only offer my support for those that have purchase these. As far as telling your customers where you are going, I was merely pointing out the reason for Darins slow response. The pricing was an EASY fix compared to parts breakage. A few clicks and WAA-LAA pricing fixed. Not so easy with bad parts. Hopefully there will be metal gears in the works soon for the Volcano.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
Darin is in China right now, he is also the Prez of the company. Is this some sort of excuse for him? NO. RC should have SOMEONE answering this board and "official rep" of the company, someone on the payroll. I will agree, entity handled himself poorly. As a retailer you cannot threaten your customers with no support if you do not like them. I have people come in the shop all the time that I do not particularly like to see, but they spend their hard earned money so I deal with it. My favorites are the constant "how fast does it go?" I sometime replay with 100MPH just to see if they are listening. You should see their mouths drop open when they are asking that about a SCOOTER!!!! LOL!!! I do get your beef, REALLY I DO. But I have seen RC go from a tiny company to a huge one in only a little over 2 years. They are still feeling the growing pains. Still I am not making excuses just offering reasons. Just so all of you know, I am here to help. It is easier for me to answer e-mails or phone calls seeing as I cannot monitor the boards full time.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
I agree with you. I too have given support, look back. I even offered to send some kid a radio setup when Redcat was slow in responding to him. I do NOT WORK FOR REDCAT, I work for Scooter's Mini MotorSports, which I own. We are a Redcat dealer along with BRP and anything Oval related. I have spent a HUGE FORTUNE on R/C in the past, who knows our paths may have crossed if you ever did any Oval Racing back in the 90's. YOU DO NOT deserve to be bashed and entity does come on a bit strong. Me, I have never dealt with him. The only support I have needed is parts, the rest I can and will do on my own. I have and will post our shop number again 205-661-9546, Saturday is the best day to catch us, but be patient we are usually very busy on Saturdays. I also full well understand most of the buyers frustrations with the "lack of support" directly from Redcat. This is EXACTLY where the "dealers" are supposed to pick up the slack. I know Chubbysdad and myself have tried, but to be honest I can count the calls and emails I have gotten on one hand. Most of the emails were for prices, I emaild back and got no sales off of them. My prices were inline with what Redcat was chargeing at the time and then they dropped the prices to what the other sites were charging. No biggie. As far as RC being a "force" in the R/C world, that will take a ton of work and time on their part. Traxxas started out much the same way as Redcat has. I was working in the R/C market when Traxxas had their first big push at the holiday season. After Christmas morning it was MArch at least until we got parts. Fast foward to today, they have their game together and are a FORCE in the R/C world. As far as why some of these trucks are breaking like they are. I HAVE NO FRIGGIN IDEA!!! I have one and have broken NOTHING on it. The radio is garbage and seriously needs to be upgraded in future kits. This I have mentioned to RC, will this fall on deaf ears? Only time will tell. Darin did respond to me and adjusted the prices on the new parts for the Volcano. The Volcano is WEAK. I also have the Hurricane and have impressed people at out local track with it. It is a very adjustable buggy and VERY FAST.

Hi guys!!! Been a while since I have posted, just a couple of things. I have a shipment of front end parts for the Volcano coming. Steering blocks and "door type mounts". I have also contacted Redcat to check into the pricing info on some of the newly listed parts. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from them.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
Well, in Darins defense and Redcats. Maybe, just maybe, he is sorting through all the "stuff" and trying to come up with the best possible solution, that or given your tone of your posts there is nothing Darin, or any Redcat dealer (like myself) could say that would be satifactory to you. This is just my opinion by your posts. I am in no way representing anyone at Redcat Racing. I am only giving my opinions, take them for what they are worth. You say, and I quote "it's not that i propose that they do anything.... By stating this, even you do not know what the solution is or what you would like it to be. You have not helped your situation by "calling them out" all that has done is make a somewhat bad situation worse. I do know that Redcat Racing grew at a rate NOBODY expected. Darin is doing things to rectify thses situations but these things take time. You cannot simply put bodies in there and start having them know what they are doing. Training takes time. Trust me, if he filled the phones with people that had no idea what they were doing that would be a cause of griping too. Now, IF you had dealt with a Redcat Racing dealer, I bet you would have gotten a little better service. I am only saying this because Redcat is better suited to deal with dealers than end users. No excuses, just the way it is. I have always found it better to deal with a local dealer than over the internet/mail-order. I like to have a person to "go and gripe to". The local dealers are more apt to satisfy your needs one-on-one than the importer. Just my .02 and not worth that...

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
levid -- Do you really think all that ranting and cussing is going to get you anywhere? I have been running R/C for a VERY LONG time and have NEVER just seen a part break. There is always a reason, usually a collision, if not right at the point of failure then sometime before. Kind of like hurting you back, it is not always the last thing to have been done that causes damage. As far as your truck, I hate to hear you are having so much trouble. Al I know is the one we demo here at my shop is very durable for the money. And NO I do d not baby it, ask my dogs. LOL FWIW -- you may get a little further is you slowed down and quit the cussing and flaming.

The first thing you are going to want to do, if you race, is get rid of the supplied radio gear. You will also want a fail-safe. As far as the differences. The engine is one and the XP comes with the chrome pipe.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
ORIGINAL: raceman17 Has anybody taken one of these buggies to the track yet? I am wanting to get one to race with but, I dont want to get laughed at when I'm out there. Do these have a front, center and rear differential that you can adjust with oil? Also do they have dual brakes so you can adjust brake bias from front to rear? Also, do the treaded rods on the upper a arm break easy. It seems that everybody at the track is breaking these rods on other types of buggies. Also do any titanium rods fit the a arms? Thanks
That is the only place I have taken mine. Playing in the yard just is no fun for me. Anyway. On the diffs, yes to all three questions. Dual brakes and adjustable with the linkages. I have not broken the rods but only one upper A-Arm. It these treaded rods break, you have hit something VERY HARD and will have more problems than that.

naviuk -- I too see your point and thank you for being open minded in seeing mine. Shipping to London?? I HAVE GONE INTERNATIONAL!!! I guess that is only funny if you remember the UPS commercials. As far as price, the conversion factors is a real killer at times. We were in the pocketbike biz for a while and the Euro/Pound to US dollar was a killer. It really has driven up prices for those items here. On the parts: 02014 x 1 (MSRP $10.99) our price $8.79 02015 x 2 (MSRP $10.99x2) our price $17.58 08029 x 1 (MSRP $5.99) Our price $ 4.79

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
Here is what I found. I looked at the export-pro site a while back and priced a kit with shipping here to the US. Bazooka 1/8 car Export-pro Biz price $359.99USD plus $60.00 shipping = $419.99 total. Price for this kit, in my shop is MSRP $369.99 - discount. I will not put that here but I assure you it is less than the $419.99 from Export-pro. It is not as low as the e-bay guys that are just pushing these things to make a quick buck. I have a shop that must make a profit to stay open. It is not feasible for us to sell a kit to make just a 3 or 4 percent profit, hard to keep the lights on at that low rate. You will also find that most LHS will offer technical assistance, and support. we pride ourselves on the level of customer support we provide at our shop. This in turn brings us many repeat customers as well as new customer from the word of mouth from our current customers. Sorry I digress. Parts From Export-pro Part number 81011 $17.50USD (plus shipping, I do not know what shipping would run on this) From Redcat Part number 81011 $24.99 plus shipping. Yes that is higher. From SMM Part number 81011 MSRP $24.99 - 20% = $19.99 + shipping. What do ya bet is cost less for me to ship it to you here in the US than it costs to ship it from overseas? But if you buy from me and spend $50 or more in parts your shipping is FREE!! My point is go to the Trinity site and purchase a car, batteries, motors, dyno or anything from them. It WILL BE AT FULL RETAIL. Go to a LHS or an on-line dealer, not just some box-pusher, and you will almost always get a discount. Also if Redcat really wanted to sell them to the general public CHEAP, don't you think they could? They are importing the stuff for goodness sakes. It would be VERY EASY for them to cut the throats of the dealers and underprice them. Here is another example of MSRP. Look at any Team Associated car. Look at the side. The MSRP on a car is outrageous. Has anyone ever paid that for a TA car? No. It is all to set up discounts down the line from the manufacturer, to the distributors, to retailers and to the customers

Has anyone found some rear toe in blocks for these? I think that the ones that come on it are 2*. I would like to experiment with some different settings. I am looking int owether or not Redcat has these. I want to say a million years ago RPM made and adjustable one for either the Yokomo or Kyosho Optima-Mid. These are the two 4WD buggies I had.

Entity -- how do you figure Redcat is stroking anyone? As a REDCAT dealer I for one cannot understand your comments against Redcat. It seems to me that you have a very low opinion of these cars/trucks but you seem to post here on the subject quite often and have even offered to sell parts to the guys who have broken parts. I just don't get it. You have offered some good advice but always seem to manage a dig to Redcat. I personally think that they are unjustified.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Racing 1/8th BUGGY thread (not truck thread)
Hey guys!!! Long time no posting here. Glad to see everyone is haveing a blast. Me, I am still working the bugs out of the jumping issues. But I did get it to TURN!! I changed the tires to the Sportwerks pins and those are some real nice skins. The rims fit right up. The plans are to change out the shock oil, going to 40wt all around and to change the shock angles. I met a guy that drive for the Mugen Factory team and got a "feel" of his car. IT WAS STIFF!! WAAAAYYYYY stiffer than I am trying to run. AHH-HAA!!! So back to the drawing board. I figured out that on the approach to the jumps my chassis is bottoming out causing the car not to fly to nice. I will keep you guys updated on the progress and when I get it all worked out I will snap some pics and post them up. Till then -- keep 'em Shiney side up!!!

Does the LS screw move with the throttle or is it the stationary one? The reason I am asking what you guys are referring to as the LS screw is the following. We could not get my Hurricane XP to come around, tuning wise, by moving the stationary one. I set it back and adjusted the movable one and it was no problem to tune.
