RE: Maisto Rock Crawler
I'll get some pics posted up of mine soon. The 9.6v RC battery upgrade made this worth the time to do more & it realy is a capable crawler!! Ive since put a jeep body on it, painted it, added some more flex, & am thinkin of puttin in a cheap ESC so that the speed can be controlled & proportional!!

RE: Maisto Rock Crawler
ORIGINAL: dacaur anyone else have a problem with the steering adjustment on the truck being too loose? I can center the wheels then drive and suddenly they are way off to one side and I look and the adjuster is all the way to one side or the other..... Guess its a good excuse to put hobby elecs in it huh?[:D]
-Easy, put electrical tape over the adjuster & heated it up a bit to make it super sticky & hold the adjuster inplace!! This was the 1st thing i did when taking it out of the package cauz alot of RC toys trim adjusters will move when in use!!

RE: Maisto Rock Crawler
ORIGINAL: dacaur
ORIGINAL: SeniorXJ 4) Ive done the 9.6v battery mod so its got plenty of power, BUT its too much wheel speed & not enough torque for crawling!! What can i do to get a lower crawl ratio?? Thanks, SeniorXJ
Try a 7.2v pack made for a 1/18 rc car. the problem with this truck isnt the voltage, its that AA's just cant supply the amps needed for crawling
ORIGINAL: Pinkmisttt ^^^^ Where were you before I ordered everything. LOL jk I found out the hard way about the ESC's. I have to order the car ESC's tonight and a servo. Oh well, gotta pay to play. this is by far the cheapest thing i've ever worked on! lol Beats buying Guns, gun accessories or 4-wheeler parts. Which by the way i'll be sticking to. I would really love to get into RC crawling, but don't have the patience for it. Parts are to small and I'm pretty good at tearing things up. I'm like a bull in a china shop. LOL
"Bulls in a china shop" has been de-bunked by "Mythbusters" as they added bull after bull & not a single fragile plate got broken!!!! LMAO!!!! ((its true tho))

RE: Maisto Rock Crawler
1) Could u kindly tell us what specific brand/size motors & electronics u used to upgrade ur Maisto crawler Please?? 2) I ve doe the 9.6v battery mod & its a huge difference!! Only problem is its now too fast & without digital proportional controls, theres little torque & lots of wheel speed. ((Needs a gear reduction basically!!)) Thanks, SeniorXJ
ORIGINAL: Pinkmisttt
