RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
The "nylon" ones that come with the Hitec servos will work fine.....Thats what I'm using. Heck, I even have some on my 50cc planes and they've worked fine for years.....Believe me, your not going to break them.

RE: TBM Li-ion Battery Question
Barracudahockey, Yes, I do have a Blinky and have used it in the past....But on this white balance tab on the TBM battery, the pins will not line up to plug the Blinky into it. They seem to be off just alittle. Thanks

TBM Li-ion Battery Question
I just purchased 2 TBM Li-ion 2600 mah batteries. These are alittle different than the ones I purchased in the past from them....There are 3 leads coming out of the battery. One Deans, one JR/Hitec and one small white balance plug. The instructions from TBM says in bold letters " Charging must only be done through the balance lead". Well, I dont have any way to use the white balance lead with my Trition or my Accu-cycle. Can I still charge through the deans or the JR plug? If not, whats the best way to charge these batteries? Thanks

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Finally got the Edge done....Now for some good weather! Went together great and the fit and finish was superb! I put a DLE 30 with a Jtec muffler on it, with Li-ions for power.........Came in at 11 lbs 5 ounces.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
I would definitely go with Hitec on a 50c plane...... Had them on 9 different gas planes, never a problem........Personally I'm alittle scared to run the HD servos.......Servo arent the place to cut cost when its comes to gassers. Tripower222, Did you get your motor problems taking care of?

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
So I guess it will be around 11 lbs after all......Sounds like it still will have great pull out from what I've read on here. Another question....I need to order a pitts muffler for the DLE 30...Jtec offers 2 different models for the 30cc. One is a wrap around pitts and the other is a large wrap around pitts. I believe Bemeson stated in a earlier post that Jtec makes a "special" muffler for the AW Edge? Just wondering which one to order.

You guys that have/flow the .40 size Pro 260.....What is the the correct CG? I maiden one over the weekend and it seemed scary tail heavy! Was a real handful! It was set per the manual.. I read that the CG was off on the 60 size so I'm wondering if it is on the 40 as well. Thanks

RE: GP Cap 232
Dang, I just checked the Tower website....You guys are right....it is discontinued.......I "was" waiting for them to come back in stock to order a spare. I wonder why they did this, the Cap was a keeper. One of their best but yet they still continue to make some not so desirable planes......

Electrifly battery. Do I have to charger through the balancer?
I've got a couple of ElectriFly LiPo 3S 11.1V 910mAh batteries for a Helimax 400 cp....They give you a small charger with it but it says clearly in the instructions to only charge through the balancing plug not the larger Deans plug....I do have a balancer that I can use with my Accu cycle charger.........So, I'd like to use my charger and balancer if all possible........Is this ok? All the other lipos I have used it the past ,I've charged through the deans plug and their fine.. Thanks

RE: GP Cap 232
ORIGINAL: frankeldan I started to rebuild mine last night!!!! I bought a new fuse last year and I'm getting to it now. I beefed up the landing gear and firewall with some aluminum stock. This is the weak point as the landing gear are attached to the outer firewall box. I do have a new dle55 not intending to use it for this plane , but I'm thinking about it. Last year I had a zdz40 in it and it went quite well. Seeing some guys with 50cc powerplants in this makes it look like a foamy. too hard to resist.
Yea, go with the DLE 55...its a blast.......no question about it.................You'll be glad you did

RE: GP Cap 232
I first bought this Cap in 2007 . Flew it a couple years with a DL 50. Sold the plane in 2009 to a fellow club member. I always liked the Cap, wish I never sold it. Well, I just got back a couple weeks ago.....its still a blast to fly with the DL 50!!!! This plane has been some serious abuse and it still looks new. The only thing I did during the build was pin the firewall and I made some 1/2" plywood blocks for under the landing gear to add alittle clearance for the 22/23x8 prop. Never had a problem with it, Unlimited vertical to say the least, and floats in like a baby. GP has a keeper with this plane. Hope it stays around awhile. When they come back into stock, I'm getting another for a spare.
ORIGINAL: Cap232tain Don't know about you guys, but I buy GP for the airframe only. Landing gear and hardware get thrown away. The airframes are solid and fly well. Some guys don't like one piece wings, doesn't really bother me! I have a few pictures of my GP Edge, my cap is done the same way. CF gear, ball links and aluminum control horns.
How do you like the GP Edge? What engine do you have in it?...I've always like the Edge
