Doesnt seem discontinued to me http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXRTS7&P=0 Or do you thing they have a huge quantity of the them? But you'd think they would lower the price to get rid of all them if they were discontinued... Hummmmm

RE: JR- Futaba 2.4..Cant decide....
If they are discontinuing the 6014FS, then why are they still going to including it with the "new" 10 C radio? Seems they would be in including the new 6014hs with the newer 10c. Just a question. The last I looked on the Tower site the HS and FS are both still available. Nothing about discontinuing the FS.

RE: JR- Futaba 2.4..Cant decide....
ORIGINAL: BaldEagel The heat failier issue never affected anyone in Europe, it was only in extreme circumstances that this occured, but Futaba being who they are addressed this issue before the new HS versions, they have never issued a statement on the dot system of recognition on the Rx, but it seems if you have a 6014FS with a gold dot between the aerials then you have a non heat sensitive Rx, notwhithstanding the 6014FS has now been replaced by an updated version called the 6014HS which has six enhanced channels to use digital servos at a 7ms rate as opposed to 14ms, to be honest I can't tell the difference between the FS and HS in the air, I have tried both on the same model and will be looking for discounted 6014FS Rx's with the gold dot for some of my fleet. Mike
Thanks for the info BaldEagle, thats good to know!

RE: JR- Futaba 2.4..Cant decide....
ORIGINAL: 8178 This would not be a good time to buy a Futaba radio. As far as I can tell from the Tower website all of the 10C and above radios are listed with the discontinued R6014FS receiver.
Is or was there a problem with the R6014FS receiver. I read that the newer R6014Hs is the high speed version. Is it a must to have the newer verison? I plan to use this radio just for my 50cc planes and a couple electrics. Remember guys, I'm new to the 2.4 thing. Thanks
ORIGINAL: Zeeb Please familiarize yourself with the search engine on this website, it's been improved and works pretty well. This subject has been beat to death and threads like this are more likely to just start brand wars than give you much useful information.....;)
I didnt start this thread to have any type of brand wars and yes, I know how to use the search engine, just wanted some current opinions.. Just wanted to know what you guys thought of the 2 since they've been out awhile now... Does anybody know if theres any differance between the current 10c and the new 10CAG? Other than the exposed antenna.

JR- Futaba 2.4..Cant decide....
I've decided to take the leap to the 2.4 technology. I'm looking at the JR 9 ch and the Futaba Fasst 10 ch. I see where the JR system has what they call a extra "satellite" receiver that must be used with their system. Some guys I see are even running 2 or 3 extra satellites on their planes for insurance. Seems like alot of extra cost. and connections. Then on the other hand Futaba just has the one receiver on their 2.4 system. Does this mean the the JR setup is better? Less chance of failure? I've been a Futaba guy for along time , but I'm not afriad to make the switch the JR if that is the best way to go. Although the programming looks like it would take sometime to get use to. On another note. Futaba has a new 10 CAG thats should be out very soon, per Towers website. It looks like its to replace the 10CA. The only difference I see is the new CAG doesnt have the exposed old 72mhz antenna sticking out as does the 10ca. I can save a few bucks and get the 10 CA if thats the only "change" in the two. So, I'm kinda out on a limb between the two. Your guys input and advice would be great.

Doesnt sound like the spinner is for a DL - DA 50. Every one that I've ordered from Tru Turn had all the holes pre drilled in them.

I agree Nitro wing. I saw the 300 midwing at Toledo a couple of weeks ago. Very nice! Hard to say which would be better at this point. I do know Mark Dennis's Dad told me I'll be parking the Extra 260 once I flew the Extra 300! I'll be looking forward to some fly reports on the 300

RE: Help me select...Aeroworks Ultimate 50cc, Yak 54 50cc, or Extra 300 50cc
I would go the the AW Extra 260. Its been around along time. Excellent flier! Heres the review they did here on RCU awhile back. http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=978 The plane will fly mild or as wild as you want. Mine came in at 16.1 lbs stock. Dont get me wrong theres nothing wrong with the AW Yak, its a great plane to. I just like the Extra better

RE: Help me select...Aeroworks Ultimate 50cc, Yak 54 50cc, or Extra 300 50cc
I have the AW Yak 50cc. Great flying airplane. I saw the AW Ultimate 50cc, and the new Extra 300 at Toledo a couple weeks ago. Their both very nice looking planes. I wish I could have both! I think the Ultimate 50cc will come out heavier than the Yak and the Extra. I also have the Extra 260, been flyin it for 3 years now. I'd buy another if anything ever happened to this one. You might want to consider that one as well. All in all, I dont think you will go wrong with any of these planes. Good luck on your choice! Let us know.

RE: If you want it right Buy EXTREME FLIGHT
ORIGINAL: crazyjoseph I just received a non extreme flight 100cc plane . The stabe tube was so loose I could move it up and down an inch. I sent the factory rep an email about the problem. He thanked me for my purchase and said he would pass it on to his quality control. Ok how does that help me. By the way everyone raved about this guys planes. I should have purchased an extreme flight.
Hummm, Who was it?.......Does it start with a W?
