RE: New Mini Electric is here the Falcon 3D!!
sgomes, I just did a full discharge (to 1.1 volt) and recharge at .5amp on my charger and it peaked at 11.1 volts... Sounds kind of low to me though. It's a new radio with a new battery mamybe it will get better with age. My battery bar never fills up, it's at about 3/4 as well. I hear folks are puting lipos in these radios, may have to try that myself. Later, Gunner

Later, Gary [:D] P.S. - How much longer for the small receiver??? Need something tiny for my HB Cyclone...

RE: Who makes a Good radio
Karlton, Again, very impressive technology, I buy into it 100%. But the sturdiness and bling factor have to be bumped up a notch. Folks are paying $500 for a carpet car chassis (no wheels, no body, no anything; but nicely machined aluminum, carbon fiber, class act...). As many have done, I have tossed around the debate between the React, the 3PKS and the M11. I love Nomadios tech, don't like the FASST and will probably go with the M11 some day when they come out with the 100mhz FHSS... But still that will probably be analog to digital. So, the cheapest way out with the best FHSS tech is, in my opinion, the MX-3FHSS. After discounts of $45, I paid about $120 for TX/RX. Now the big question, when will they actually be released. So, for the money, I have the benefits I was looking for (maybe not all the bells and whistles) but I can sit back and wait why the radio tech war plays out. Regards, Gary

RE: Who makes a Good radio
rcxboy Examples and statements are everywhere. Again, I mean no disrespect to Nomadio or their radios. I applaude their high tech (I always want leading edge). But, the build quality has to be beefed up. The radio chassis has to be worthy of it's capabilities. I am just hoping that Nomadio can take the constructive critisim and put it to use for their good as well as ours. Listen to the consumer! We are giving feedback about a product and have recommendations to improve it. I would love to have all that Nomadio's radios can do. I just can't, along with many others, because we don't like the "cheap" plastic. You all deep down know what I mean. What do you think all the fancy aluminum parts, carbon fiber, the latest materials being used in the cars if for. We love it. Buy the generic plastic version of a same car, ou couldn't give it away. So Karlton, no offense intended man. Beef that unit up, give it a little more rigidity, maybe a little more classic lines and they'd be selling like hotcakes. Man, good old made in the USA. I wanna do it but I want a Ford F350, not a Ford Ranger with GPS. My 2 cents, Gary

RE: Who makes a Good radio
I agree with CRTracer. I was looking for the best Hopping Spread Spectrum... I ended up chosing the Airtronics MX-3FHSS because of its traditional look and feel. I LOVE the Nomadio technology, but... I don't care for the clunky looking "transceiver" and more so the React's case. I haven't held one yet but from what I have read the case isn't up to snuff, build quality wise. I want a radio that when I am holding it, has some mass to it. I don't want the handle twisting and the seems shifting like a RTR AM radio. I mean no disresepct to Nomadio... Just calling it like a consumer sees it. I can't take the look of the Sensor... The React is more of a high-tech traditional but doesn't "look" solid. Even with the same shape case, if it used a different or thicker plastic with maybe a rubber grip coating or something it would feel better to the consumer. I love the tech of the Nomadio, hooking up to the PC is awesome. I just can't deal with questional build quality (materials) and RTR looking buttons and trigger. I know Nomadio doesn't want to invest or wait for a new case design but if they used something with more sturdiness to it I would be sold. Even the power switch "looks" cheaper than one that was more traditional looking. I think you guys know what I mean. Wrap that Nomadio radio in the MX3 or 3PM body (not that their plastic case is any stronger) and they would sell even better. IMHO

RE: .21's ok in Truggies?
Interesting... I learned something new. I am setting it up for the track and some crazy speed field stuff. The 427 has served my son's LST2 well. So I will work on my skills with this motor and look forward to throwing a .21 race motor in there when my driving abilities call for it (it's gonna be a while). Thanks!

Airtronics MX-3FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum!) http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPNM6&P=7 At $164.99 minus $20 on-line "Ad Number", $144.99 for a great Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum radio. I just hope they come out soon!

RE: .21's ok in Truggies?
I just picked up a stock Mach 427 for my 8ight-T. .27, the thing screems in my son's LST2. It's gonna be insane in the 8-T! So the ROAR rules have a .28 limit? Cool, that's what I was going to ask... .21 just didn't seem right if the LST2, Muggy, etc. were all coming with the .27's. For now I have to work on my skills, and the "stock" motor should be plenty for now. At $110 new on Ebay and $19 for a complete exhaust, you can't go wrong.

RE: Any sight of Airtronics MX-3FHSS?
Wow, no interest in this radio? It's a cheap way of getting into 100mhz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum... I'm "investing" in the Airtronics and waiting for the dust to settle on the whole Spectrum technology thing. I was going to do the 3PKS FASST trip, but the analog to digital thing bugs me when I can have 100mhz all digital. May have to go for the M-11 and their new modules. For now I just blew my wad on a 8ight-T truggy... No RTR... This radio should do the trick for a while. I just hope it is actually released soon. As I understand it, these are the "scores": Spektrum - 50mhz/Digital?? Futaba 3PM or 3PKS FASST - 75mhz/Analog to Digital?? Airtronics MX3- FHSS - 100mhz Digital?? Nomadio - 100mhz Digital?? Hey, why am I talking to myself???

Tower Hobbies has the Airtronics MX-3FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum!) marked for a "Mid-March" arrival. It's pretty quiet on the Net about this radio. Any other confirmed (or un-confirmed) info that it will be showing up soon? Thanks!

I see settings under Throttle (Ch2) such as Trim, Dual Rate, Throttle Expo, Brake Expo, Sub Trim, Brake End Point, Throttle End Point. Under servo speed for throttle I see Throttle Speed, Brake Speed, Throttle Trigger and Brake Trigger. Please excuse my ignorance but I can't find the 7 point throttle curve settings.

Will Nomadio be coming out with a micro transceiver? I was wondering how the present transceiver fits in 1/10 touring cars like the HB Cyclone or XRay T2? Is it tight? Thanks

RE: Telemetry question
How difficult is it to install the rest of the sensors, like the tach or speed. Sounds like you may have to hack and slash your way into a secure install... On a 1/10 touring carpet racer, where would you mount tach and speed sensors and magnets??? It would be great if there was a sturdy mount or something so that you would have to jerryrig it. Thanks!

Throttle Curves???
Hello Folks, I am a helicopter guy. Love my helis and am used to my throttle and pitch curves. Gotta have them for a heli, no two ways about it. Well as most everywhere else, it's winter time. My son has gotten into indoor RC racing, capert racing, mini-lst, mini-t and 1/0 touring cars, etc. I have been sucked in, I now have the fever. I used to race indoor dirt track back in the 90's with my Turbo Optima Mid SE. Lots of fun. So, my dilema; I need a good radio! My son has an Airtronics M11, very nice. I'm starting from scratch... I have a Hot Bodies Cyclone coming. The full kit, not the S, that I got a great deal on ($200!) by reading these forums. Now I need to get a top notch radio (why by basic when top-notch will more that do!). Anyway, been looking at the M11, the Futaba 3PKS or the ne Nomadio React. I am leaning towards the 3PKS with FASST module. I see that it has settings for a throttle curve, sweet! Now, I can see the use for these throttle curves in car racing, but the M11 and Nomadio apparently don't have a throttle curve option. 1. Is a throttle curve for RC cars really used? 2. Is the Nomadio too new and is the construction/weight/build quality solid? 3. M11 is 2 channel or 4 channel... Why not just 4 channel? I'm gonna spend some serious radio cash, I would like to buy a transmitter that is build like a tank. I don't want it to feel flimsy, feel the plastic grip seem twist. You all know what in mean. OK, so the 3PKS appears to be the only one with a throttle curve, is this a big plus? Thanks for your thoughts! -Gary [:D]
