RE: Chattanooga SPA Contest - Aug 25th-26th - Special Fun Pylon Event
update!!!! Our raffle prize will be the new Great Plains Dirty Birdy ARF! We'll have some other stuff too, but this ARF has been received very well on the circuit this season. Thanks to Paul C Wright with Chattanooga Radio Club for the help on securing this nice item!

RE: Chattanooga SPA Contest - Aug 25th-26th - Special Fun Pylon Event
We should have a great time at Chattanooga. Everything is coming together perfectly with the flying, food, shopping for the ladies - well, everything! I sure appreciate all the help from everybody. Last year the contest basically ran it's self. Our scorekeeper and runners had the biggest work load of all and they all scored 10's with their efforts. The Chattanooga Radio Control Club is always top notch people to work with too. See ya there!

Dennis sold me one a couple of years back, but then bought it back because he needed something to get together quickly for a contest. LOL true story. It was an ARC.

RE: SPA Contest coming to Andersonville, GA - Hodges - NOW WIH PICS
One of the things I learned at Knoxville, and look forward to seeing again at Hodges (a GREAT AMERICAN HOBBY SHOP!) is the performance of the newer O.S. 81a that Bruce Underwood has on his Daddy Rabbit. It seems that without any tinkering to speak of the engine will work fine on lighter built SPA models. It was sort of jaw-dropping to see the performance. Of course Warren Oliver's E-Powered "Oliver Twist" was proof enough that electric has a solid place for power plants in SPA. I guess I'm looking forward to some more "under the hood" fun! Ha!

I talked to him at the event and he had good things to say about the SE. If anything he was excited for their participation. I get your point about the two day event now.
ORIGINAL: sehlers Since the South east is a Hot bed of SPA activity ( 12 contests ) and they don't appear too interested in traveling West , Steve Ehlers
Steve - It's hard to believe your conclusion that us south east flyers don't want to come west. Until this latest contest the Ft. Worth contest was only a day event. Hard for me to drive twenty eight hours to fly for eight hours. I go to a lot of contest and I've yet to see you at any of the south east contest. You seem to have a double standard for who should be where and when! LOL I can tell you without reservation that the SPA is very interested in our friends in Texas, Oklahoma and elsewhere.

RE: The Tiger Tails????
Chuck (Atlanta60) - I was judging that particular round of Senior Expert. Ron laid down a round that was among the top five near perfect flights I've had the pleasure to watch. I literally could not remain sitting during the last two or three maneuvers of judging. We have some awesome talent in the SPA and I count myself lucky to fly with them. Just as a side note - I acquired one of the first three Tiger Tail 4s short kits Ron fixed up for us. Super nice work and plans, and like always Ron did an excellent job.
ORIGINAL: JAS Mike, Since the SPA/CPA sequences take less time overall, I'd be willing to bet an easy 4 rounds on Friday alone. Then with a full day Saturday, 2 more SPA/CPA rounds shouldn't be a problem.
Jason - The more I thought about it the closer I come to agreeing with your conclusion. Sounds like fun to me!

RE: Classic Pattern contest Tangerine Jamboree
Hey Orlando - How many rounds would be flown in SPA? I know the "stock" answer of "it depends on the number of entrants", but I'd be reluctant to drive five hundred miles to fly two or three rounds. (Of course it may be the best idea to fly both SPA and AMA to get some stick time? Does one entry fee take care of the weekend?) Thanks! And, I hope you are doing well.

RE: JR 9503
Got mine back today. Odd thing is that I only had one model (little J3) programmed in at location 10 and it was still there when I got it back. According to all I've read here it should have came back with no data in it. That means they didn't do anything to mine. Right? I guess I'll call them for the THIRD time tomorrow and see if my transmitter has really been fixed! This is frustrating!

Carrier Pigeon? tick toc, tick toc, tick toc ...

Well, I just wanted to vent a little and I'm sure they are going fast as possible to fix this issue. Maybe they rushed a little to get the features that are on the 10C (which is my main system) and made an oversight. Luckily, no real harm done and that is a good thing!

RE: How much wing incidence are you running?
An airplane will not fly without positive incidence or an airfoil that is not symmetrical. The positive may come in the form of up elevator trim, or a wing design that creates lower pressure on the top surfaces, but that effectively creates the same results of positive incidence. Right? Then there is lift created by a fuselage....or a powerful engine that is making a propeller fly that has an airplane attached to it. All this is very confusing and beyond my scope of knowledge!
