RE: Newbie getting started
Do all the above mentioned and also take a hair dryer to it and pre-warm the motor. It will be easier to pull and will start quicker.

RE: Single vs. 2 Speed? Anyone plz help??
In my experience a single speed is best for a nitro beginer hobbiest. They are easier to maintain and tune. They problem with a lot of two speeds is 1, ) the motor has to be tuned spot on for it to reach a good RPM for it to make the trans shift into second. 2.) Even if you get it to shift into second you might not have enough power to use 2nd gear viably. So unless you feel really confident in your nitro tuning my opinion is to go with a single speed trans until you are very comfy with it then move up.

RE: How many Aftershock 8E's needed for a good bash?
ORIGINAL: wildbills rc I'm very confused how people drive these. Usually people get monster trucks to bash, buggies to race, street csrs for cement....where do these trucks fit in and where do you drive them?
These are meant for a bit of everything. You can bash them, race them, and pretty much drive them without issue on any terrain.

RE: caldera 10e
There is a video on youtube of a guy doing a NIMH speed test and a Lipo Speed test on his Caldera 10E Stock it was like 19MPH, Lipo was 42MPH or so. I looked for the video but I could not find it. But it is out there for sure. Like Nitro said with a ESC change to an 80AMP ESC that truck would go 60+ I think pretty easy on a 3S.

Yep, I already have a program card I purchased from Redcatracingshop.com a while back. I am going to change some setting in it when it is a little nicer out and the truck can acutally be used.

Easy Connector For Dual Lipo's?
Anyone know of a 4mm Bullet connector you could hook into your ESC that would be set up to run dual lipo's? I looked around for a while and did not fine one. I did not want to have to solder and make my own.

Unhook your steering servo horn and make sure the servo is set to neutral then hook it back up with your wheels straight. Here is a quick how to video I found on youtube for you. I did not watch it so it might suck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEuByn1eifA

So I ordered my wife a Volcano EPX Pro
On Monday I ordered my wife a Volcano EPX Pro from Redcat Racing Shop. I got that a Thunder AC6 Charger and a 5000MAH 2S Lipo. All I have to say is sweet mother of god, that thing is stupid fast. I pulls wheelies an the grass, the pavement, the dirt, it does not care where it is at. You give it throttle it pulls wheelies. I am going to have to do some shock adjustments to keep this badboy on the ground. I decided to get the Volcano EPX Pro because my wife has been showing interest in the hobby. So far she loves it but I am putting the 2200MAH NIMH battery in it for her lol.

RE: redcats not starting
Just put a glow plug in the end of your glow ignitor and see if it lights up. If it does your glow plug is good and so is your ignitor.

What size of screw or part number do I need?
I lost a screw that goes from the front lower control arm into the steering knuckle on my Shredder. I purchased every screw I could basically find for the shredder and none of them are it. I was going to take the one out of the other front and even with blue lock-tite on it, it stripped out. So I can see the actual size of the screw. Any help is appreciated.

RE: Bent screws on Calders 10e steering arms keep occuring????
I just go to the hardware store and buy hardened screws for mine. If I can't find them I usually just order like a pack of 10 or however they come from a Redcat Dealer.

RE: What lipo are you running with caldera 10e and or Hurricane or Avalanch?
I Upgraded to this ESC in my Shredder XT. It comes with the same ESC/Motor combo that the XTE series does. I currently run two 5000MAH 3S Lipo's on it and it is CRAZY FAST! (I never thought I would say this. But it might be to fast....) I will post of video of it in action once the snow comes off the ground at the end of the week. My next one will be the Monsoon XTE with same upgrade. I use to be a huge huge nitro guy and still own several nitro's but electrics are winning my heart lately.

RE: New Volcano S30
This is what I upgraded to. http://www.redcatracingshop.com/product_p/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.htm It is not a great upgrade but I have had that RX/TX for about a year with no problems. I also have my other cars bound to this radio. The radio was easy to set up and works great for about a year so far.

RE: Can Caldera 10e and Hurricane xte take 3-4 cell lipos?
ORIGINAL: fahaka I would go with ShredderGuy, I have a hurricane, that I modded using the electric components of an 8e. 3200Mah 20C batteries mated with the esc that is rated for 80A. I normally drive the car but stop before the batteries die off of a fresh charge, so I'm not sure how long the run time would be for sure. With the springs stiff in the rear I can wheelie all day

RE: New Volcano S30
I have not heard of a real problem with the radio's like this. Did you try to re-bind the TX/RX? That may take care of it. If it doesn't I would guess you have a bad RX. I would not even replace it with the a Redcat RX/TX combo again. You can upgrade to a lot nicer gear pretty inexpensively.

RE: Can Caldera 10e and Hurricane xte take 3-4 cell lipos?
Stock runtime will only be 12 - 15 minutes depending on driving style. With dual 5800's you should see a 25 min + run time.

RE: Can Caldera 10e and Hurricane xte take 3-4 cell lipos?
I bought this ESC for my shredder and I run dual 3S 5000MAH lipo's on my stock motor. I just watch the temps and it has treated me well so far. Not to mention I picked up atleast 10 MPH more easy.

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread
Correct me if I am wrong. You will need the following for the conversion. http://www.redcatracingshop.com/product_p/06034.htm http://www.redcatracingshop.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=02023S http://www.redcatracingshop.com/product_p/02045.htm The two speed conversion will be a very very nice upgrade for you.
ORIGINAL: runner1514 Great! I was really hoping it was normal and I didn't have to take it apart. Thanks for the reply. I was also considering switching to a two speed transmission. Part number 02045 is the clutch that goes inside the transmission itself? If so, I'm guessing that the clutch comes with the new transmission when you buy it, no? Thanks!
ORIGINAL: Dads like rc too
ORIGINAL: runner1514 I just realized that my clutch bell moves back and forth a bit, about 2mm maybe 3mm max (I think). I'm not sure if this is new or not and I ran the car this way yesterday and everything was fine. I have already ran about 3/4 of gallon through the engine and everything is still the original pieces. I guess I was just wondering if that was normal or if the screw that holds the clutch is slowly coming off. http://s681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/?action=view¤t=DSCN2539.jpg" target="_blank"> http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2539.jpg" _fcksavedurl=" >http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2539.jpg" _fcksavedurl=" >http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2539.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" > http://s681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/?action=view¤t=DSCN2538.jpg" target="_blank"> http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2538.jpg" _fcksavedurl=" >http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2538.jpg" _fcksavedurl=" >http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv178/agustinxc/th_DSCN2538.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" >
it looks like the clutch is sliding off the shoes. No this is not normal. It's hard to believe you haven't shredded a spur gear yet. You'll have to remove the engine and tighten the clutch bell screw in the crankshaft. Use blue locktight on it. RE: scale crawler suggestions?!
I have the Redcat Super Crawler 1/8 Scale. I got it from www.redcatracingshop.com Link: http://www.redcatracingshop.com/Redcat_1_8_Scale_Rockslide_Super_Crawler_p/rockslide%20super%20crawler.htm It is only an FM TX/RX but for $219.00 you can't go wrong. It's 1/8 scale and so far for me works great. Also, that company give you 20% off Redcat parts if you buy the truck through them. They also have the 1/10 Scale with 2.4GHz TX/RX for $155.99 but I went with the bigger one cause I figured I would upgrade TX/RX later anyway.
