A guy at my Local track here in Pittsburg, KS is sponsored by Viper, running the VTX10 in his SC10 and his B4.1 and it is an excellent setup. I don't think you could go wrong with either setup for yourself!

The hyper 10tt is loads of fun I hear. I wish it was popular enough for other top brands to have a tenth scale truggy! Then maybe it would have its own class!

RE: Mom Hates R/C!! Help!!!
Just be patient, bud. Just do what you do, and if she tells you to get the heck off of RCU, well as your mother you have to honor that. Soon her perception on RC will change in your favor. I know it can be frustrating. Sure, you aren't doing drugs and whatnot, she knows, and eventually she will realize on her own that it is not such a bad thing, no need to really make a statement about it(as I may have said it was necessary before.) Respect her wishes, and soon she will soon respect yours. In the meantime just keep your head in those books, and do the RC thing once it's all done. When I was in High School and was really getting into the whole RC hobby, I had a hard time balancing School, Football and Track & Field, as well as RC as a hobby. NOTICE I listed RC last, it was never a priority for me, but once I got everything in front of it done, I was downstairs in my basement tuning my TA03F for drifting. In other words, SHOW HER your priorities are in order, DON'T TELL HER, that your priorities are in order.

RE: Mom Hates R/C!! Help!!!
Maybe take some money and buy your mom a little something to get her off your back! Me I work hard to pay bills and put food on the table for my girlfriend and I. Next week I'll be buying her a new iPhone, then I'll order my firestorm and she won't have a darn thing to say. Trust me I usually pamper her before I go buying rc stuff so when I splurge, I SPLURGE because it's not all the time I get to do so. Both parents taught me something, if all your necessities are taken care of, go for it. That's both of them saying that, now my dad taught me that if you got a hobby it's best to be in it 100 percent. He loves fishing, owns 30 plus rods and reels. Loves guns, owns about 20 total. Loves cameras, owns about 9 Film and 2 digital. All over the course of his lifetime. He is a provider first, always has been, and into these things when his needs are met in the household.

RE: What's Your R/C Story
I started off using those gosh darn New Brights with the wire attaching the radio to the car, where you could only drive the car only like 4 ft in front of you, lol. Then I moved up to Nikko, with the Orange NSX(supposedly from 2fast2furious but looked nothing like it) which I loved that thing. After that I gave Tyco's Viper a shot, impressive as heck and thats not even with the battery pack. I begged my mom in walmart until tears came down to buy me the battery pack, which was only 14.98. She gave in as I wiped those tears lol!! While owning the Tyco my cousin, who introduced me to hobby grade rc, owned an RC10T2. He had been in the hobby long before me. He let me take the T2 for a spin and it was a freaking BLAST to drive. Until I broke the front arms. He wasn't too happy about the truck, but happy that I was hooked. Eventually he gave me a Kyosho Mini Z, and that was such a darn tease. I got tired of it and started scheming ways to get my parents to get me a T4 back when it first came out. I Thank my mom since she complained saying how expensive it would be. So I had to buy myself another 20 dollar Nikko RC, this time with an RX8 body. I bought that as a Christmas gift to myself, and used it up until the fall of the next year, when my cousin surprised me with a Kyosho Outrage converted to onroad(Just road tires and a Lamborghini Countach Body. This was before LiPo and brushless were released. On a 7 Cell NIMH battery with a Speedworks Buggy Master motor and a Novak 610-RV ESC that thing flew. After that I decided to give drifting a shot for a about 4 years, starting in my sophomore year of highschool. I owned a Tamiya TT01, a year later a TA03F, then sold the TT01. Simultaneously owned an HPI Sprint 2(non-Flux) with a Nosram Motor/ESC, along with the TA03F. I eventually would've had three cars running when I acquired a TA05 roller, but I was on falling out of love with drifting... Once I got to college I eventually sold the trio for money my freshman year. Went on a hiatus from rc in general for two years, then my junior year bought a Schumacher Mi3 setup for drifting, but never ran it the semester I had it. Traded it for a B4.1 straight up, then bought a B44 which I own both currently! Now I will be buying an E-Firestorm Flux next week sometime. Contemplating whether or not to go all out and get a Futaba 4PL to run my Firestorm and b44 on, and switching the Spektrum DX3E to my girlfriend's future B4.1! WHEWWWW!!!! I came a long way what about 'yal???[:D]

RE: Mom Hates R/C!! Help!!!
Very good point. Women have their ways of peeing away their money, just as bad as us guys do. It's just a matter of resisting the urge to splurge. Instead of "spoiling yourself" how about "treating yourself?" There's an equilibrium there that's easy on the wallet and generous on you. Try supporting your hobby little bits at a time instead of having to get it all at once. That is greed my friend. And when the cash flow rises, you can be even more generous. Don't fall into the trap of "more money, more problems."

RE: Mom Hates R/C!! Help!!!
Turn the RC on, and transmitter, then give the transmitter to her and let her take it for a spin. It will change her perception. My girlfriend thought I was a fool and that I was playing with walmart toys(how offensive.) I let her take my B4.1 for a spin and she now respects why I'm into this as a hobby. I told her once I get my Firestorm Flux, that the B4.1 is hers. You could also reason with her, tell her you could be blowing it on drugs and other B.S. but its keeping you off the streets and giving you some productivity.

Is this too much for a used savage?
So I pretty much have made a deal with an ebay seller that I couldn't refuse. http://www.ebay.com/itm/160854267886?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1426.l2649#ht_500wt_1287 It's an HPI Savage Flux HP with the XL conversion kit. Even comes rtr, and includes the fiber brake pads, as well as a servo(Associated DS1313) with a y-harness to operate the mechanical brakes(reduce the load on motor thus extending it's life) Two 3s batteries and an Airtronics 2.4 radio. Only ran about 5 times and clean. I'm Looking at 585+ 35 shipping Which is close to the price of a new in box Flux HP. It's an offer myself couldn't refuse. Is this a good decision?

Viper Copperhead?
Well its getting closer to the time I get to buy another rc. and I'm either going with a E-Firestorm Flux RTR or a T4.1 Factory team build. Either one will see the track(nothing Pro-like) and the parking lot This is my final set of choices as I've been pondering everything all summer long lol. Going the T4.1 route, I was thinking of throwing a viper copperhead setup in it. Cheap, with reviews going both directions. Anyone have any experience with them? and which kv would go well in the T4.1?(Assuming the 3900 being it's a 540 size) Want to give a kit build the ol' "college try". Either way it goes here I'm looking into my first NIB RC, as all the rest have been second hand.

I would suggest Pro-Line Calibers for the rears. I use them on the B4.1 and they provide lots of grip on Asphalt and great control on dirt for me. Running a Team Orion 2s 5000 LiPo myself with stock Associated motor/esc combo.

Wonderful, I have been pondering that Tx/Rx combo since I got my B44, and B4.1. I may very well go for that, I'm gonna get about three extra receivers, cause I also plan on getting a FT T4.1 as a project build throughout my school semester. when I buy the RC8TE I'm gonna replace the S3003 servo in it, with this guy http://www.hobbypartz.com/33p-solarservo-d772.html

If I could get my hands on a DX3 transmitter only I have an extra receiver for it, cause I know the DX3E doesn't do 10 model memory( some say it does though?) or just save myself money and bind it between my rc's when I am ready to use them is another good way.

RC8TE Is this a good deal or what???
So I have been talking to someone who said he would let his RC8TE go for a good price, I told him shoot me an asking price and I'm sure I could work with you. Here is what it comes with: -rc8te -proline bowtiw tires already on the rims(the kit come without tires) -12t, 16t pinion(kit come with the 16t, with the 12t on 6S its 52mph with the bowtie) -aluminium rear chassis brace -castle creation MMM 2200kv -longer strap for the battery case to use bigger battery. -Futaba FAAST 3PM 2.4ghz transmitter with the receiver. Everything is in good shape, except the on/off switch, just plug the battery or unplug it directly for the moment, last time used was 1.5 year ago.. with the controller/receiver 490$ without 370$ This sounds like something I can NOT pass up. Input please!! Here is a video of it in action.

In my opinion, Neither. Ok maybe the E-Maxx for parts support, but that darn thing is due for a serious upgrade in the chassis department. I'd say explore your options, and if parts support for the E-Maxx is better, go for it.

I like its design, definitely the answer for someone who wants to half-ass (excuse my french) get into 1/8th, which the tuning of a 1/10. That Pretty much describes me right now. RE: Lipo's
I find it hilarious how the AC6, the ECO, and HPI chargers are identical, HPI being the most expensive(no surprise) and the other two being nearly the same price. The ECO one comes with deans plugs, something the AC6 doesn't, which is only a few bucks more- pretty much getting what you would need if you're a deans plug user. Could very well be my next charger, the ECO that is.
