RE: 1/5 Scale Pica Waco Build Thread
Gary Looking forward to your build. You are right about the Waco Brotherhood. They are an amazing resource. Some excellent builders there. And all willing to lend a helping hand. I’m proud to be a member.

RE: Das Bipe Stik
Cubfloater I have the plans for this model around somewhere, but I don’t have them in front of me. From what I remember the rib profile is constant throughout the entire wing. Like the ugly stik it is derived from. If you look at the wing plan, you can see that they are of equal length, tip to tip. (as I remember it) Just copy the rib profile for both top and bottom wings, as shown on the plans, and use them where shown on the wing plan. Just speaking from memory, so take this for what it’s worth. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free. If need be, I can dig out the plans and then be able to offer better advise. Good luck.

Bill Glad to hear you are recovering. Get well soon. I know those Tennessee winters are tough on us Florida boys. Hope you are home soon enjoying the holidays! And please stop scaring the *#@%! out of us!

RE: how to cover old Waco that was painted...
cubfloater (Jim) I don’t think there would be a problem, but I see your point. But FYI, it is recommended that you use a dual servo aileron setup. There’s a lot of pressure from four ailerons for just one servo, even on the 1/6 size WACO. Good luck.

RE: how to cover old Waco that was painted...
Jim, there is a thread in the “Golden Age, Vintage & Antique RC form, that deals specifically with this model. There are guys there who are experts in every aspect of building, finishing, and flying of this kit. Post here in this thread, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4058627/tm.htm (“WACO YMF) and I’m sure you’ll get all the info you need. Especially on an updated aileron servo setup. And by the way, while you’re there, ask to join the WACO Brotherhood. Good Luck

RE: What to do
Have you thought about putting him on a simulator, where crashes and crowds are not an issue? It may improve his confidence to the point where he will be less nervous at the field and be better able to concentrate just on flying.

RE: Miss Tiny
Dave Thanks for re-posting the plans. I have added them to my build list. Thanks for keeping the old models alive. Unfortunately we have lost so much of our modeling heritage. So I love it when I see one of the old ones pop up. Thanks again.

RE: dicknadine
Hello to all! I Emailed Dick and got a reply from him this morning. He is doing well. However he did say that he is having some vision problems. But he is still doing some building. He Emailed a picture of his current project. (Below). I didn’t ask why he hasn’t posted lately, but I remember he mentioned that his computer crashed a few months ago. He may have lost his computer’s cookies and may no longer be automatically logged on to RCU. That and his vision problems may be the reason. Bob J.

Bill You’re right! When it comes to cancer, a little good news goes along ways. Catch it early, and the cure rate is nearly 100% these days. And it sounds like Anthony’s wife has what it takes to beat it!! Good for them!! Best Wishes, hopes and prayers are with them. Good luck!

RE: WACO YMF
Wow, 8000 posts! That’s a real credit to Stickbuilder and the rest of the Brotherhood. I’m a big advocate of keeping the vintage planes alive. Bill, along with a few others, have done a wonderful job of reviving this Waco kit. And then also making it once again available to builders. Good job guys! Keep up the good work!

John L. It’s good to see you back at RCU, and posting once again. Sorry for the email confusion. I thought I had read it in one of your emails. It seems that “I am the one who needs my memory checked! [:)] As far as being missed, the “Brotherhood looks after it’s own.[8D]

RE: John Livingston
Dick I managed to make contact with John. He is fine, and doing ok. The reason he hasn’t been posting here on RCU, or e-mailing friends, is that his computer died. Also his e-mail address is no longer available, as the provider company has been bought out by another company. So he’ll not be able to receive any messages that are sent there. He says that once he gets a new computer, and a new e-mail address, he will send it out to everyone. But he said that it might be a while before he is able to do all that. So it might be some time before you hear from him. I was going to e-mail you the good news, but saw your post here.
