RE: Comtemplating starting heli
I actually recommend starting with a CP heli....but one that is 450 size or larger. The smaller micro heli's are VERY difficult to learn on! Yes they are cheaper, but I've known more people quit the hobby out of pure frustration. Good luck, Skarn

RE: Still having battery puffing problem with Trex 450 se v2
Yep, if you are puffing batteries, you are flying them way too long! The 80% rule that restinfine mentions is the rule of thumb to go by. Time your flights so you are only putting back in 80% when you charge. Skarn

RE: Why dx7 over dx6i? help
Actually everyone I know with nitro uses a governor. Also, with a nitro having a remote glow igniter like a switchglo is a very nice convenience! I have a DX7 and wish I had more channels because I have to use a 'Y' cable for me to use the governor, gyro and switchglo. Skarn

Are you ever going to get another heli? Are you ever going to get a nitro? Is it even a possibility? If so, I would consider the DX7 for sure.... Skarn

The radix are by far my favorite blades. I fly them exclusively now. I get the cosmetically flawed ones for much cheaper and it's hard to see the flaws....you get them directly from the CY website. Skarn

RE: Giving up on flying
Well honestly the CX2 is not meant to be flown outside 100 feet up! Any coaxial and micro heli is greatly affected by the wind. The Coaxials are very easy to fly, but I would keep it indoors or outside only on a non-windy day....and I wouldn't go more than about 20 feet up! Skarn

Yep the ferrite ring will help with ESC/Motor interference...that's it's purpose. Stock ESC's come with them...I'm surprised you don't already have one. Good luck, Skarn

If you want a bit cheaper, a 9650 will also work fine. The Tower 9g isn't really meant for a heli rudder. If you want super cheap and better than the tower, an HS-50 will work... Skarn

RE: Other than LiPo
+1 to Druss! People act like they are nitroglycerine! We have lithium batteries in our cell phones, laptops, and many other places... But anyway, I also agree with the hobbycity recommendation. They are more than half the price of the bigger namebrand lipo's and just as good. The zippy/rhino/flightmax/turnigy are all proving to be top notch and very cheap batteries. Skarn

RE: bigger heli
A dx7 and a trex 450 would be great! If money is not a huge issue, a trex 500 would be even better....they don't cost too much more than a 450, are a superior heli, very stable and easier to see and just an awesome heli! But crash costs will be more...the blades are about $60 and batteries are more, but you can get the batteries from hobbycity for less than $70. Skarn

The receiver will blink if you turned it off/unplugged the battery while the transmitter is on then plugged it back in without turning off the transmitter. Skarn

RE: T6EXHP and gy-401
With the 401 there is no need to set it up for a rate mode driftless hover unless you plan on flying in rate mode. The Finless method works great. If you have creep, there is somethign else you need to fix. Skarn

RE: Beginner With Blade 400
When you go to idle up, in general, the headspeed increases and you actually have more stability. But you also have more responsivness.....so if you are not used to it, you can dial in some expo...say 20-30%. Also, if setup correctly, you really shouldn't need any trim. Try to get it mechanically setup....arms at 90 at mid stick zero pitch all level. Skarn
