RE: Glow vs. Electric. Let the discussion begin.
I think it depends a lot on location, if you are a park flyer only, with limited space, then by all means electric. I like scale, and you can't beat the sound of a 4-stroke engine. If I could afford it I would have radial 4-stroke engines only. I don't think there are any full size electric airplanes!. Just my two cents Skinny Bob

RE: GeeBee R2 1/4 scale restoration
The GP GeeBee R2 has a 68 inch span and fiberglass pants, if yours has ABS pants I don't think you have a GP model unless they made a change. I have the GP R2 and will help if I can. Bob

Weight of Wood, Ply, Lite Ply, Balsa etc.
Gentleman, I need to find a source for the weight of different woods used in model airplane construction. Balsa, Plywood, Lite Plywood, Spruce etc. I want to add this information into a 3D modeling program so it can calculate the weight of an assembled model. Thank you in advance for any help. Bob

RE: Tips And Tricks for CAD Programs.
ORIGINAL: crow hi need some help! Does anybody know is it possible to align the side with bottom. As you see on the pic, the front part is attached but rear part is not, because the rear has a little curve and i couldn´t figure out how to bend it. The whole thing is made with solids in autocad thanks Crow
Crow, you can do it with SolidWorks 07 & 08 don't know if you can in early versions.

RE: Tracing a logo
ORIGINAL: CoosBayLumber Tracing a logo Can someone trace the edges to an old logo and text using their software? An oval and a few straight lines is all that is involved here. If my software was working OK, the whole operation ought to consume less than ten minutes. The software that I had once used for such operations now has problems, which I think are related to a bad spot on the hard drive. Anyway, download an original BMP at the URL: http://www.mybloo.com/coosbay/eBay/veco.bmp I need to receive back only lines, not the image, in some sort of DXF or DWG file. Send results directly to: coosbaylumberco@yahoo.com Wm.
WELLLLLL?????

RE: WACO YMF
Clipwing, my plan is to cut parts for me to hopefully build the F-2 for myself. I am not interested in having kits cut to sell. A few people on this forum showed some interest in my plans for the F-2, so I thought I would try and make the plan and some instructions on assembly available to anyone that might want them. It has turned into a challenge for me and I am having a ball doing it. Take Care

RE: Kinkos CAD printing.
That sounds good except, it seems most Kinko's locations can't print large format. I can print my own plans, parts etc. on my cutter/plotter, but they are in .cdr format which most people don't trust. So it is nice to be able to convert to PDF and send to whom ever, a format that can be used by all.[;)]

RE: Kinkos CAD printing.
ORIGINAL: patternwannabee Skinny Bob, Try [link=http://www.cutepdf.com/]CutePDF[/link] instead. The CutePDF Writer is freeware. This produces a PDF directly from your CAD program (or any program for that matter), and now you can use any print shop, not just Kinko's. It works the same way as the Kinko's File Prep Tool. Just run the installation, then next time you print a document

RE: .cdr plane file for laser cutting
stinger, interesting that you would ask, most people don't believe that .cdr is any good. I have been working on a plan for quite some time. What are you looking for?. Are you a Corel Draw user?. When my plan is ready I will have the parts laser cut. ( There are some cutters that will use .cdr files ) Bob
