RE: O.S. GF40 4st gas
Mark, you say this engine runs smooth, without much vibration I take, what about the throttle responce? Does it have a linear throttle ? Or the typical walbro on/off switch?

RE: av8tor1977
I recently purchased a 32cc Stihl Four Mix Four Stroke that av8tor converted for aircraft use. Robert dos excellent work on these conversion engines. This one required a carburetor modification, as set-up stock, they lean out on the top end. So not only is the engine converted, it’s also set-up to go right off the bat! I’ll tell you, this is going to be a perfect engine for a ¼ scale Balsa USA Newport or PUP. I’ve bench run it and it swings a Xoar 18/6 with authority! I need to pick up a new tack so no numers, but this one is ripp'in my 18/6, might even go 19!!! Robert was also very helpful in providing technical info on the engine itself, and the carb modifications required. He has my recommendation to anyone looking for a good engine. And BTW, his prices are very reasonable, Mike.

RE: What happens if arf and kit building prices meet?
I always wonder what will happen when arf prices eventually climb up to the same level as building yourself ? Well, I'd like to think that when this happens, some bright, intelligent, young man of natural origin will realize that the price advantage the aisan manufactures had because of slave wages will have evaporated, and that it is actually profitable to manufacture ARF's in the good old USA. His ARF line will be superior because of his experience as a accomplished modeler himself. In short time his line of ARF's will burn down the competition from aisa, and his prices will actually fall due to increased demand and good business tactics. Who Is Going to Step Up to the Plate?

RE: OS GT22
Look's like it's a little taller than a DLE, just like the GT-33, wonder if it has a longer stroke, and what prop it will turn. Considering if you have to use a pitt's style muffler, add'ed to the cost of a DLE-20, it's pretty close in price couppled to Tower discounts......we'll see.

RE: Whats up with kits?
I have noticed that as of late, there is a lot of complaining about the cost of our hobby increasing, now think about this for a second, please. Is it only the cost of our hobby, kit's, fuel, arf's, ect., or has EVERYTHING in general been increasing in cost, gas, food, utility's, construction material, pet supplies, & on and on. Haven't heard a peep from the News Media about inflation? So what is causing this? Well I'll spell it out for you: Our National Debt that is increasing by Trillions of dollars every year is directly related to the "worth" of the dollar bill in your pocket. No doom & gloom, Just Fact! So let's just keep on going in this direction and I bet you'll find out you wont have enough disposable income to enjoy this hobby in a few more years.....We can change this in November.....But only if we decide to get off our butt's and go out and VOTE! Nov. 15 is your day to speak!

RE: Which Balsa USA 1/4 plane?
Guy's, From what I've read, BUSA's WW-I 1/4 scale fleet will usually need around a pound or more of nose weight to C/G, the reason I'm bringing this up is that I recently aquired a 32cc converted Shihl 4 stroke engine, it's about as strong as a Zen-26, maybe a little more, turning a 18/6 around 7500 rpm, but weighs 4 lbs. I'm thinking that it's a perfect fit for a PUP or Newport, Any comments on the weight & power would be helpfull.

RE: fuji 24
50/1 seams pretty lean for break in, are you shure? To be safe I'd use Penzoil air coled two stroke Non-Synthetic @ 32/1 for at least a gallon, then switch to the 40/1 synthetic. No experience here with Fuji engines, but if they spec 50/1, you will probably be OK with that on a easy flying PUP. Stihl Ultra is also a highly rated synthetic oil

Sounds like you over heated it. Wet the shaft with premix were it passes through the carb body, followed by a few drops of oil and gently work it free.

SDP, Kudo's to your decision to save your Cub, the damage does seem light afterall. One possable good thing that may transpire is that you will use a honest to goodness ENGINE in the SportCub, DA-50 is recommended, I believe. So you will be going GAS with this one, right........RIGHT?

Gas/Glow seems interesting, what would you say to this blend: 1 Qt. 20/20 glow, 1.15 Qt E-85, and 0.85 Qt gasoline? Did I get the ratio correct? E-85 is available at one location in my area.

RE: AMR High Wing Stick 30
Luck was with you today! In your pick of the engine, you can see that all four bolts are sheared off and still in the stand-off's, If your prop delaminated, the resulting vibration must have been tremendous to do that. Any chance you cliped the prop on your takeoff run? Glad to see your Stick came home in one piece after that. Opp's On second look, is that sheared off bolts in the stand-off's or Mud!

R/C car specific products, there used to be a ca that was fortified with rubber thats purpose was to glue car tired to rims, it is black in color, might look into that. If it works on car rims which are plastic, it should be safe for Cub rims. Me, I just ca'ed them on, how long do you want to keep the stock rims anyway.
