The Losi team went to hundreds of tracks to test their new buggy before it released.
Of course they can. All Traxxas needs to do is get a nice looking box and print on it "85 mph + truggy. Beat all other competitors." And there you go. A traxxas truggy or buggy that can hang with the rest[:)]

I hope your not baseing your descision on how fast that truck would go. Out of the box they will all be about the same speed. Till you change the gearing i think its fast enough for what it is. By the way the rc8t is an awesome vehicle.

RE: Short Course Electric Trucks mostly being offered in RTR Form Only!
ORIGINAL: Chris_RC
ORIGINAL: luvdisstuff
ORIGINAL: gman1 Most of these companies that are only offering R/C vehicles in RTR should be ashamed of themselves. There are many vehicles that i would've considered buying if they actually came in kit form. This RTR business is getting quite old and rediculous!!! I'm at a loss for words for this seemingly continuous trend of only offering a Chinese labored, pre built R/C Car. Come on America grow up. If your over the age of 14 or so and can't assemble your own model. than you probably don't know much about how the cars internal and external parts work and quite frankly don't deserve to be driving it. Sorry to anyone that may be offended or disagree with what i have just stated, but I had to get this particular issue off my chest.
What a totally ignorant statement. You must be the ancient bitter guy I see . What the problem with progress.Just because someone cant build an rc from scratch they should be banned from the hobby. Have fun running your rigs alone. You should be ashamed of yourself I guess your the only one who should be able to play. LIsten uo pal. I have no idea how to build one of these but thanks to rtr i am getting a chance to learn how to build one. There are nort a bunch of places where i can go lkearn. The rtr is helpful to people like me who want to get involved in the hobby. Frankly you dont deserve to have a voice in these forums. Its people like you that scare away the nOObies. But you cant intimidate me with your ignorant opiionIm mglad you got your issue off your chest but you just removed all doubt regarding your ignorance.
This is a public RC forum. He can post whatever he wants if he doesnt get banned. If you want to go on a private ($$) rc forum, go to SGrid. Back in the 80s and 90s there were about 6-10 tracks in Southern California in a 30 mile radius. Notice that it is the 80s and 90s and RTR's were not even invented yet. With 6-10 track, there were over 1,000 racers in SoCal. So dont say the hobby wouldnt survive if there wasnt RTR's. The hobby just needs moore exposure. Put a 1/8 buggy or truggy race on ESPN and hundreds of thousands of cars will be sold. I mean there is fishing, pool, bowling, and poker on ESPN, and RC Racing is 100x more exciting than any of those other sports or hobbies. There are people who have had many RTR's and never tore it apart, those are the people I get fusterated with.
That would be awesome if espn showed say like the worlds at the farm or any other top race that includes all the pros. I would really like to see those races you couldn't go to.

Rtr's are fine. Its that the pro comes with some of the newer upgrades included on the 1.5. I own one and love it. The quality is second to none and handles awesome. Rtr will save you money considering i spent 1000 dollars on the pro.[:D]

RE: Redcat Nitro Rc
ORIGINAL: Chris_RC
ORIGINAL: jeztur2003 please they are every bit worth $140 dollars what is your claim for saying not to buy redcat they are durable fast and what other buggy are you going to get for that price check out my site for list of features.
Say you buy a Traxxas or Losi. You run into a wall at 40mph and break. You go to the LHS and they have the part in stock so you buy it. Fix it and you are ready to go next day. Say you buy a Redcat, you run into a curb at 20mph and break tons of parts, you go into your LHS and they laugh at you because you bought such a POS car. Yea, Recat is helping the RC Industry out alot! [8|] So now the newbie throws his Redcat into the closest and never thinks about it again. OR he could wait 2 weeks for the parts to arrive, then break it again, wait another 2 weeks when if he would of got a Losi or Traxxas the LHS would of had his parts. Dont say all cars have the same durability. A 1/10 Recat jumping 50feet far, 20 feet high would shatter while a good 1/8 buggy wouldnt even be phased, no matter the landing. Come to think of it, the only time I have broke a part not related to maintence was when I was going WOT on this jump that doesnt elevate you high, but you go FAR, and I hit the water hose going about 35mph in the air with the rear wing, and the rear wing mount snapped. Other than that, not really any broken parts from racing buggy and truggy. If a Redcat would of done that, the whole rear end would of ripped out!
I wish that was the case. My lhs is so crappy they dont even stock losi or ae. All they buy is redcat and himoto. And hardly carry parts for them. Thats why i won AE and buy on line.

Good brushed motor and esc combo sc10
Im going to get an sc10 to race at my track. Except they to keep it spec towards the slash. So i will probably need a brushed motor. whats a decent brushed motor and esc combo. I was looking at the side winder combo and buying an extra bruhsed motor. That way i can run my lipo. What do you guys think.

I Personally dont run the castle combo, but do run a mmm with another 1/8th motor, and must say im pretty pleased. But you dont have to go with a combo. Best combo is probably an rx8 or mmm with a nue motor, but that can get pretty expensive. I havent seen no one run the novak combos, but there suppose to be decent also.
