Mongoose is a sensored motor but it should *work* as sensorless, just as my Tekin T8 works with my mamba monster. I dunno how much the mongoose motor cost, but you could try the ammo 5900.

I almost bought a Blitz this afternoon, but with the season coming to a close and winter coming up fast, I decided to hold on to my $200 and wait. HobbyCity is out of stock on the lipos I want to order anyway[8|]

RE: mods for detta buggy?
For racing stock, VR3 and advance the timing. It'll kill the motor faster, but you'll gain some power out of it. I like the difference it made in my ST when I added sway bars and they upgrade isn't that expensive.

For carpet racing where money is a stake those might be a good investment, but at the dusty places I run at it would just be money down the drain. Besides that, the only metal shielded bearings I run are in the motors. $1 bearings for me.

And I was typing on my phone. I suppose I have enough gear diffs to last me if the Ammo 3900 is going to start chewing them up in the front end. I'm still curious to whether or not people have experience with the ATM ball diff. Should be fun none the less, finally will be able to race against someone with a mini of the same performance.

The used detta I have coming in the mail has a dtx ball diff in the rear and I'm considering putting on in the front. I'm not sure if I'll need it with only an ammo 3900 in it on 2s lipo. I have 3 extra stock diffs if I start blowing them up. Should last if I think I need to order another ball diff. Has anyone has any luck with the Atomic mods ball diff? Anyone know if they accept DTX diff rebuilds?

RE: Lipo charger
For the money you'd be better off buying one of the Turnigy chargers off of hobbycity or getting one off ebay. The Accucel-6 has all the functions that the Onyx 230 is missing. If you wanna get a higher power charger in case you have larger batteries in the future, I'd look into an iCharger 106B. I love mine. Has about the same fuctions as the Accucel-6 except the iCharger has 5x the charging power and 4x discharge power. If your looking to move into only lithium batteries then don't overlook the FMA cellpro series. Awesome chargers with good customer service. I have a cellpro 10s and it's more accurate balancing than the iCharger, but it doesn't have a discharge function.

I used to have one. It will do 3s. There are plenty of other good chargers out there that can do as much as the Onyx 230 and more for the price. Hobbycity has good deals on a few.

RE: Vorza flux
ORIGINAL: jjl5590 Why would the Vorza not be made for bashing? It looks pretty damn tough to me.
Low ground clearance. No doubt about its durability, but have you ever wheeled a 1/8 buggy?
ORIGINAL: jjl5590 my E-Revo will do 51mph max... I don't even have an E-Revo
I'm not sure how to answer this. The illusion of speed or lack there of may be a problem in that your ERBE is in fact invisible.
ORIGINAL: jjl5590 Vorza looks nice but what does it bring to the table that any other buggy doesn't?
It's RTR; no assembly required. Only other company that I know of offering that is Losi. For you it may be easier to get parts for given your location.
ORIGINAL: jjl5590 is there any reason not to get it?
Again, have you ever had a 1/8 buggy? They don't drive like they like to bash. Suspension arms are short and the ground clearance is low. They bounce over rough terrain.

An aluminum bumper wouldn't look any better after you nailed something with it. Try making a big foam bumper like those on touring cars, it might help you car bounce better.

RE: Vorza flux
It doesn't have anything more to offer than any of the other brand name buggies have to offer. If you have a track to run on, it'll be a lot more fun than if you didn't. It boggles me why people by RC cars and never take them out to put their skill up against someone else at a race track. I used to bash for years in the back yard before I tried racing. First time i went racing I was hooked. I dumped my 2wd nitro rustler and got a real mod truck.

RE: Who here is tried of Electric rc
Lipo all the way. I keep my batteries at storage charge most of the time so it only takes 30 mins to top them off. Just enough time to pick up my pit gear and lock the door behind me. And busting ESCs and motors? You're at no more thread of doing that than you are of having a receiver pack come loose and having to go chase a run-away. To each his own. This has been covered

1700 will (should) give you more than 12 or 15 min of racing, but it depends on you driving and your gearing. I'm not sold on the quality of these off brand EBAY motors.

RE: Sidewinder with lipo
I'd like to expand on what was earlier stated. Your ESC will only try to push as much current that the motor is trying to draw. Battery capability doesn't much to do with that as long as you have head room because your battery is only a supplier of power, it wont push it. Motor draws current. ESC and battery provide. If you motor is too big or you are gear ratio is too high it will pull more current than you ESC can handle and/or battery can supply. Then your ESC thermals or your battery becomes damaged.

RE: Did I get ripped off?!!??
I'd file an accidental bid claim to ebay and basiclly say: "Whoops, I didn't mean to click that," or "I've been hacked," or "my son was using my account without my permission," or even play dumb and use "the description does not accurately describe the product and was misleading me to think they were a name brand item when they are really not." If you pay, then you're getting ripped off. Don't pay the person that gives you misleading information, I'd call that fair.

RE: Vorza flux
Just like almost everything that has the CC2200 motor in it is maddly over powered. You're going to run into problems trying to build a speed buggy and bash in the grass and dirt. #1: Running in grass draws much much much more current than running in the street. #2: Ground clearance is an issue. More drag on a buggy than there is in a MT. You'll have slower grass speed with the Vorza. #3: Vorza has a center diff, only way to get the front and rear wheels turning at the same rate at high speed is to lock the center diff, making it suck for any type of racing. #4: Trying to run a buggy geared for speed runs in grass conditions is going to over heat the motor and maybe your batteries. And what this about a Revo not being fast enough? Some people have them doing 90+ in a strait line (o.O) Vorza (Hot Bodies D8 remake) wasn't made for street/backyard bashing, no matter what you read on HPI's website. Can it be used for that? sure, but you're better off going with something that has ground clearance. But what do I know, I only race 1/8 brushless.
