My answer being, a lot of times I don't have enough control to hit the ramp. Just watch this vid, http://media.putfile.com/RC18T-Cement-Wall-Crash-at-30mph-INDESTRUCTABLE Thankfully, I have a front bumper on my 18T that saved me any damage.

RE: Micro Madness the Movie, MUST WATCH!
Well in part to answer your and ponch's dismay, look at the credits for filming. I forget the exact count but there was a lot of people who participated in filming. I am the only person in our our bashing group with some videographing experience. Problem is I was usually doing something else so the camera got handed around a lot. This was not a sponsored or professional production, but a gift from one small group of bashers to the rest of the online RC community. We made due with every single resource we had. joel I appreciate that you can understand aspects like that and still be able to keep things positive. Props to you :)

hmm I seem to have lost track of this thread! Thanks a lot guys for all the compliments you all rock. whitey, just as RC abuse is a by-product of RC racing, so is it a by product of bashing. Bashing is our way of having fun, just as racing is for others.

RE: Need advice on blindly buying a used XR80!
That's what I was thinking too, if I don't like it it should be sellable, right? Anyways, it's Larry's Performance RC in Sterling Heights, MI. Here's their site; http://www.larrysperformancercs.com/ We could probabley work out something with me picking it up and shipping it to you too, if you're interested.

Need advice on blindly buying a used XR80!
Okay, so here's the deal. My hobby shop has a used XR80 (including the AM radio package and manual) for sale at $150. It has $80 worth of extra spare parts that break often and a Venom fail safe. It's priced at $150 for everything but here's what's holding me back, First, there's no returns and the hobby shop won't completley guarantee me that it runs. It looks fine, though. Second, the previous owner lowered the engine somehow blocking access to the engine with a cordless drill to start it. It looks like on the bottom it has a wheel for a bump box. Is this bad that he lowered the engine which is forcing me to use a bump box? Is it even possible to use one on it? That's another $70 for me btw to get it running using a bump box. Third, I could only race it once a week and it probabley won't fit into much of our classes. It will mainly be a parking lot basher. Will the 70mph+ speed runs get old quick? Also, this is MI. I won't be able to run it in the winter. I'm truly at a loss of what to do. Can anybody offer some outside opinions please!!?? Thanks!

RE: Bdavison's E-flite Blade Assembly
ORIGINAL: flyboy1202 Well, I recently got the blade cp and had to replace a few parts already, but my question is, i have some slop with my main gear shaft and my shear pin. i guess that is b/c i've crashed a few times, but has anyone else encountered this and should i replace the shaft? it seems my vibrations are very low, but i just want to know in the long run. what will happen, if any thing? josh
I usually always have a little slop there and I don't see it as much of a problem. The slop goes away as soon as the shaft and pin are engaged.

Micro Madness Trailers, MUST SEE!
-If you haven't seen the first trailer yet, I suggest you do so first. -These are trailers for a full movie I'm making called Micro Madness (previously called Micro Madness 2005). -The second trailer was made because winter came all too fast here forcing me to move the full movie's release date to this summer (very sorry!). -I hope you enjoy them! The first 1:03 of the first trailer and first 25 seconds of the second trailer are true speed. Best viewed at 200%. RE: blade cx mods
Getting rid of the ratchet is a wonderful mod, but completely removing the tab is not the way to do it. The stick is all too loose with that method and simple tail controls will cause unwanted collective input. The best way IMO is to put some fuel tubing or heat shrink over the tab and screw the tab in to your specfication of resistance on the stick. I did this with my CP's controller with fuel tubing and love it.

RE: Bdavison's E-flite Blade Assembly
How new is your heli or the motor in it? What you're talking about sounds like a gyro issue but as you said you couldn't correct it. The only other things from my personal experience that cause that are low battery power and a really high collective/throttle trim.
