RE: Pardon my ignorance. What is S.P.A.D.? Corolast?
What Draftman said is correct. My last airframe I built cost me around 8 bucks and has survived multiple "rough" landings. Spads are the best.

RE: A newbie to coroplast.
ORIGINAL: OzMo Its called "flashing". Coroplast has an oily film on it from the manufacturing process. This film can be removed with a quick flash heating of a torch or by wiping it off with solvent such as denatured alcohol or acitone. The glue works much better if this is done. If you do use the torch practice on a piece of scrap first. Sometimes you can see the vapor of the oil go off the sheet but it is easy to melt the plastic.
I have never flashed my Coro......I just sand it with 100 grit paper and clean it with alcohol. I have never had a glue joint fail. Both methods work well though!!!

RE: Bending Coroplast?
Spring back is possible if you don't score it enough. I usually score it enough for the flutes to completely bend over. A router works great too just as Draftman1 said.

RE: Bending Coroplast?
Use a straight edge and "score " it with a phillips screw driver. Works great everytime, at least that is how I do it. You want to make sure you crush the flutes when you do it.

RE: Definition of a SPAD
SPAD is more of a concept than an actual definition. Many "Spadders" have assembled planes from spare parts into various Frankenplanes that flew very well. Go for it and you won't regret it.

RE: Rotofly - no control over cyclic
My swashplate was completely seated but the flybar was misaligned. No matter where the cyclic controls were at the fly bar was tilted and would not spin level. I adjusted the servo arm and got it to level out so we will see how it does now.

It does not appear so. The blade seems to remain horizontal. It does seem to tip forward and back a little more that side to side.

RE: heli-max rotofly help
I just bought the Rotofly and have the same problem.......It drifts to the left even with full trims to the right. With the training gear on I get the heli extremely light to the point that the skids start to lift. It will drift left and it only stops when the stick is full right. It will not drift back to the right. any ideas?

RE: spad wheels..WHAT? you are buying wheels !
Amazing Stories....the episode is called The Mission. And that is exactly what I was thinking......great idea too.
ORIGINAL: DLSmith2 I like it! Great SPADification! It reminds me of an episode of (I think) the Twilight Zone, where the belly turret gunner on a B-17 gets stuck in the ball and the plane can't lower its gear. He draws a picture of some big yellow cartoon tires on the plane and, well I don't want to give the ending away... [:D] Keep up the SPADding! Blue skies, DL
RE: Spad bipe... Trainer???
Well....the original designer of the Spad Canary ...Quicker said that it flies like a Bipe.....meaning it doesn't glide as well as a single wing and lands at a higher speed. My mini canary woudl have flown witha .25 but i stuffed a .40 in it....you can never have too much power!!! A 46 will fly it just fine if the original plan is followed. I down sized mine just for giggles to see what it would do. Hook up all four ailerons for lightning quick rolls or only use two for gentle ones. The plane does require more attention to fly that a cub......but if you can fly a sport plane you can fly this bipe.....also they are SPADS so they bounce, cartwheel, and slide on their tops with little or no damage!!! :)

RE: Corocub flight report with pics
My Coro Cub had the most gentle stall.......it would simply drop the nose and maintain level wings. I never had a snap roll problem at all......

Sorry ......the website seems to be down now for some reason. Try [link=http://quicker.rchomepage.com/plans.html]HERE[/link] scroll down to the quick stick bipe. The plans are there and I used 4 mil coro for the fuse and RNAF wings instead of the foam board.

RE: need corospit advise
My Spit was also a handfull and only lasted 2 flights before being destroyed. I also have a foam Spit that flies the same so I tend to believe it is a characteristic of the design.

RE: what .40 for aerialphoto?
This [link=http://www.spadtothebone.com/SPAD/DasPlasStick/DasPlasStick12/dasplasstick12.html]LINK[/link] shows how the build the RNAF wing for the DPS. The same principal applies to all RNAF wings dihedral or not.
