RE: SAITO FG 20
Havent done much flying lately, work has me tied down. I can post up some install pics if u still need them, I used the Saito Alum mount an it was pretty straight forward. just let me know. Th FG20 when the needles are set properly runs ok... ocasionally it will act like i have air bubbles in the tank and miss in the midrage. I hope to get more time this season to fly her. Spectre

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version
I still have my Dago with a saito 100. Flys well, the gear bays do need some epoxy to add strength, other than that go over it with an Iron and fly it like you stole it. Fun Bird Regards Spectre

Tisoy, I completely understand your concerns with the "stock" L/G, Maybe KMP will take this issue to heart and so something about thier landing gear.

RE: SAITO FG 20
Sorry for the late reply, It took me a bit to figure out that my single cell 1550 at 4.2 volts just wasnt enough to run the FG 20 above half throttle, I thought I was having carb problems, it turns out the Saito FG 20 IGN unit draws more than my 60CC Birelli so off it went and il put on a 6V NMH. Lesson learned. 6V 2100 NMH now installed on the new Jewel ( tounge in cheek ). 20-1 Syn BEL RAY MC-1 ( I so wanted to break this engine in the traditional way with Lawn Boy, but Ill follow Saito recomended) The Saito FG 20 pulled a strong steady 9600- 9800 RPM with a MAS 15x6 after about an hour of run in time. I brought her back to 9500 and thats where she will stay untill I get 2 gallons of fuel through her. Idlle was down as low as 1700. I left her down low for atleast a minute an transitioned to mid range without a miss. The engine transitions very well, sounds really nice, esp at high throttle settings and purrs like a saito down low. I think a baby stump puller is born. I plan on running an APC 16X8, this combo should haul my P-51 around with authority! GO GAS! Spectre

RE: SAITO FG 20
OK got my hands on it, looks really nice, no aluminum engine mount as one was included with the FG 36 :( and the plug is 21.00 at horizon :( ohh well i asked for it. So off to the local Hs for a mount. I really dont want to use the aluminum mount just cause i have a nylon mount installed, but my consious tells me otherwise, I guess the pros say its a heat sink so ill go get one. Hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait... feel like im back in the USAF. :)

RE: G20Ei is the best!!
ORIGINAL: MOTORMAN37 Togatoga, My G20 w/CH ignition is still turning a Zoar 17-6 @ 9,000. I too was getting approx 9,400 with a APC 16-6. I also fly YS 1.10's, and it shocked me the first time I looked at the tach. My 1.10S still beats it on 20/20 though, since I get 10,150 with a 16-6.[:D]
The G20 will last five times longer than the Ys 100. my vote goes to the G20 :)

Beleive it or not, its the World Models 60' Petie. should come out a about 7lbs. I got it from our local hobby shop for 189.00. got a great deal on the FG 20 also. pm if your interested. The way I figure the engine will pay for itself in glow savings considering i use 30% in my 4 strokes. Gas here in Fla dropped to $1.74 whoo hooo.

RE: KMP Corsair
Tisoy, you would have thought i was commiting RC murder by putting the ZDZ in the Jugg. [:)] It was just ridiculous at all the talk about the power for that bird. Honestly though a 35-40CC is plenty for the jug. The 50cc is nice and light and full speed passes as well as uplines are very nice. I added Lenny Shindin struts as they were a drop in replacement for the H-9 legs. Im thinking of a small gasser when i pull the trigger on the Corsair. The plane is a great alternative from a full blown kit plane if ya know what i mean. Anyhow keep n pluggin brother your getting close, wish i was there to video tape the maiden for you. Im sure KMP did there homework on this one and has delivered us a great flying Warbird. Spectre

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
HOLY SHEEP SH@T BATMAN ALMOST 500 PAGES!!! Add me to the list I have a 30SGK, 2 hundys one 125, and a 180. The 180 has sat for about 6 months and wants to die in the midrange, top end is fine idles nice and low but surges in the middle. this is new to me any suggestions? Im running F plug, 18x6 @ 9300 top end, 2300 at the botom, I replumbed the fuel lines and R2 the fuel tank to get rid of the varnished fuel sitting on the bottom., fattend up the bottom but it just made the idle worse so it moved back in a 1/4 and she idles smooth for over 30 sec or more. HMMMMM any ideas?

RE: KMP Corsair
Sounds good to me, its a darn shame we would have to go with this issue as well as the rt thrust issue for a plane of this cost. When someone finishes thier flap set-up please post pics so we all can gain some clarity. Thanks

RE: KMP Corsair
Well i have to agree the acft looks nice, adding rt thrust is no major issue, the flap issue has me confused a bit, My American Eagle corsair has the web type flap inserts that slide in and out, they look great and operate fine. Without the plane sitting infront of me its hard to say what what the exact fix is. From reading here it appears that postitioning the flap hinges to the outer edges might correct the problem of possible binding of the rods that connect each flap. I Think[sm=50_50.gif] Ill follow this thread closely, I hope Mr Kondor is taking notes so the factory will correct the issues.
