RE: New Bright Jeep 4dr 2wd
he took 1 4 dr jeep body and put it on his own scx10 chassis, and i traded my honcho body that came with my scx10 kit for his other 4 dr jeep, there are no others in my pocession! sorry. and all those parts were thrown in garbage, i have a few leftover parts from the new bright 2 door jeep rock crawler 4x4 MOA, but most of the parts are trashed. only half descent stuff left is those tires

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
Hey guys, this will be my last update regarding my New bright peice of crap. I stripped the front gears, and broke a tab off of one of my 280 motors. SO that being said. Anyone interested in parts? I have a whole box full of it. Springs, shocks, tires, rims, screws, anything you need. Also have 2 broken electronic boxes, 3 working servos. BRAND NEW front axle, Brand new CV joints, oh and I can also sell my working CV joints that i custom made with parts from the an old rear axle. All can be included, or just a few select items. your call what you want. price nagotiable Paypal only. PS. i still subscribed to threads here, so i will always come back to visit those New bright owners i've chatted with b4

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
yeah however my cv joints are stripped again and i'm running 2 wheel drive now and not 3 or 4 lol. so i have to fab up some quick cv joints again with the aluminum, but i have to go buy some more tubing as i believe that last extra tube over top of the other 2 give it more strength

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
Update, truck is running again, I have the AE-1 Axial receiver, and axial transmitter, the older version not the 2.4ghz version. I am also using the HPI SX-1 I bought 2 bullet connectors to wire the old motors to the axial ESC, soldered it up, wired it up and I'm out playing again. The only problem I'm having still is that the front axle gears grind when i go in reverse. Should be an easy fix when I figure out how to wiggle the gears the right way so they don't skip in reverse!

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
Haven't had an update, because my jeep has been shelved since the stock electronics died. So here is the start to my conversion! I found a brand new Futabu Magnum Sport T2PC 2 channel Transmitter and a Fp-r122je 2 channel receiver with the crystals. from a buddy in the classifieds here on the RCCrawler.com I was just thinking of getting a cheap AE-1 ESC because it powers brushed motors, and should be ok powering my MOA New Bright motors. Either that or I will have a spare for my SCX10 when I get it later on this year.. Can't wait :D I love the scx10 my buddy bought one, and i got to play with it a little. but honestly I love my NB just as much till i really break it for good! :) but I will still try and fix my NB in my spare time because i've put a bunch of money into spare parts etc... So I was researching this receiver and transmitter, I didn't realize that the receiver had a input voltage. http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/2pcka-manual.pdf Power requirement: 4.8 - 8.4V if i find a ESC that supports 8 cell (9.6v) Could i use some sort of cheap voltage regulator to lower the voltage? or a resistor? i should probably put this in the electronics, I might just do that if i can't find anything with the search button. I already own 3x 9.6v 8 cell ni-cd batteries, and do not wish to upgrade till those batteries die. (low on cash)

Compliments to Texx 4 showing this to me, simple basic and includes everything you need and a ESC. looks easy to use too. Might work for your truck. Might be able to find a cheaper similar package on ebay as well http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXASX4**&P=7

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
I only ended up paying $20 for the axial 2 channel receiver, transmitter and esc. and a servo too. Was thinking on trying it out running my jeep, if not I would only have to replace the esc to get it to run then. *edit* i'm researching the ae-1 vs the futabu MC230CR you suggested texx. According to Axial the ae-1 has a motor requirement of 17Turns the futabu says 20+ turns that is ok here other specs too Futabu Capacity: 6 to 7 cell batteries Motor Limit: 20+ turns Current- Forward: 90A Reverse: 45A On resistance: .0035 Ohms High Frequency: Yes, 1,500Hz Connectors: Futaba J, Standard for Battery, Bullet Motor (all pre-installed) Bullet Motor Wire: 16 gauge BEC: Yes (6V) (1 amp) Length: 1.07" (27.1mm) Width: .50" (12.7mm) Height: 1.31" (33.3mm) Weight: 1.55oz (44g) Axial Input Voltage 5~10 Cell-2VDC/Cell Size 34.8 x 33.5 x 30mm Weight 53g Motor 15T or greater On-Resistance-Forward FET 0.0025Ω On-Resistance-Reverse FET 0.005Ω Rated/Peak Current-Forward 60A / 150A Rated/Peak Current-Reverse 35A / 75A Braking Current 150 A BEC Voltage/A DC 5V / 1A PWM Frequency 1 K Hertz Futabu's rated current is much higher than axials, other than that it looks ok..

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
So my electronics are laying all over my kitchen table right now. I took the stock new bright motors, and wired them to the electronics, I got the same problem. So that being said, the wires are not the problem, because the stock motors still have the wires attatched and was easy as pulling the plugs and plugging the stock ones back in. servo doesn't do anything, even unplugged it and still same result, i know its not the transmitter, cause the transmitter could sit there off, or without batteries, and the electronics still go haywire, sometimes takes 5 seconds to 1 minute, and the truck goes full throttle without the transmitter even on. regardless. I inspected the electronics and came up empty. I can't seem to figure it out! Theres no wires touching, antenna looks good, capacitors and resisters and other electronic stuff on the board looks great and brand new! well its only 2 months old, but they smell ok, they don't smell burnt. I'm stuck, and I think my NB might just be put on the shelf till I can get the right parts and convert it to hobby grade electronics... SO that being said, I know cobra69 did the HG conversion. Keeping the stock motors, is there anything I should know about wiring the NB MOA motors to HG electronics? do I need anything specific? do i wire both motors into 1 connection? for example if I've got the 2 channel axial electronics, the ax-1 ar-1 ae-1 combo, it was built for a single motor in the scx10 can it easily run dual motors?

RE: My collection
the problem with converting the new bright jeep to 4th gear and new motor, is that the torque from the new gear ratio, breaks the cv joints, so figuring out the CV joint is your first project, Aluminum or brass tubing is your best bet solving the cv joint breaking. and aligning the gears wth the other gears is very hard too!

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
I'm not giving up that easy on my NB Jeep! If I can not get the electronics working, and after i purchase a better receiver and transmitter for my scx10, i'll be using the 2 channel axial transmitter and receiver to get the jeep running again. EVEN IF i have to purchase MOA axles to replace the NB axles. I tried all 4 channels on my jeep electronics, none of the channels work, as soon as i hit the forward or reverse, the truck goes full reverse or full forward, and i have to catch up to the truck to turn it off. anyone else experience this?

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
Yeah i also researched, and found that the xt version was much better and only a few dollars more, I wanted to buy one, but I seem to like the idea of scale, and building a truck/jeep with scale parts, winch and playin with the truck on a trail. so the scx-10 was of course mentioned due to my wanting to build scale stuff vs just climbing over big rocks. and here is my ultimate scx-10 plan HOWEVER!!!!! that being said, my second Hobby Grade RC would definitally no doubt in my mind would have to be a XR10 competition crawler! ;) Oh and guys, my electronics on my NB are going haywire! they still work, for a brief few moments, but then the truck literally takes off on me! just goes forward and top speed. i have to catch up with it and turn it off. but turning the transmitter off doesn't stop the truck neither. there is literally no fail safe on these NB trucks. I have spare electronics, but they don't work neither. I have not taken it out to look more closely at it, nor have i tried new batteries in the transmitter yet. what do you guys think??? *edit* and update, the CV joints with JB weld broke, like butter... literally.. my LHS restocked their tubing, and i got the right size, and fixed the cv joints today. then i got sad when my electronics kept going haywire.. if I can't get the elctronics working in this jeep it will be put on the shelf till after i buy my scx10

RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
oh nice! I was just repeating other words of wisdom from the rccrawler.com forums and what they say about the rs10 *edit* I broke my aluminum cv joint, made another one, and broke that one too, made another one, but this time i didn't use the 3/16th aluminum tubing, i used 7/32 and what i've done is filled it with jb weld, put jb weld on the axleand slid it on the axle, cleaned it up, now i have to wait 15 hours for it to cure, so just to be safe i'll wait 24 hours at least to make sure that it will be dry. I don't want to move it until it is done drying so i wait to install it. RE: My NB Jeep Rubicon Crawler
Yeah, the only reason I love this thing is probably due to the 4th gear, new motor, and the fact that i can fabricate with tin snips and aluminum thin plating. I'm not sure whether to say that the articulation helps much with flip overs, summer salts off steap hills, and other troublesome areas that it just gets stuck and digs a hole, but new tires might solve that problem, getting a better servo for better steering, but then again this thing is pretty much as best as it can get with the new bright electronics, agreed. but just for a starter toy this thing rocks! I think putting my jeep rubicon body on a scx10 would be fun! but the wheel base is 10 inches, meaning I would have to modify the scx10 links to play with it, who knows what the future will bring, I love my jeep!

big update took chassis, modified and cut it, made shorter lower and upper links for the 4 link, built a wheelbase jig to hold tires when installing the 4 link, installed spring suspension on new cut chassis, relocated electronics and batteries, recycled some old aluminum peices i have, tested and batteries died... of course! 4 link Mockup without springs installed after i took it out of the jig. and articulation test, I don't want way to much like first chassis gave me Rear Springs installed Everything installed!
