Yup, roger that eddieC an hsukaria, it's kinda mine over matter. Know your engine and what's required and it's a breeze. Just bought a 55ax last week for a Alpha 40 trainer (kinda over powered) :) for my grand son, and wish It was practical to invert that project......hehe

RE: O.S. 55AX Engine Floods - PM Tucano
newflier1, yes from my experience it is normal for these engines with this inverted setup to siphone a little bit, drip, vapor lock and all that good stuff if left unchecked. I have the Pulse 60 and the 125 with this same identical setup with both tanks center line with the spary bar on the carb (though I had to lower the tank on the 60 to achieve this). I always make sure the throttle is closed and the needle valve is also closed (not tight you don't want to damage the needle valve). Fuel the model, open the needle valve to starting position, open throttle say an 1/8th, use care quickly start engine, tune for optimum performance this will also prevent to engine from loading up and dying. After starting an engine I always tune for optimum performance then back the needle back just a hair, and if I don't do this I'm looking for a dead stick. Oh yes as someone mention looping the fuel line leading to the carb over the engine mount, yes this is a must (see the purple fuel line in the attached video). Inverts are great just a little more to concider, in the 2 years of running this setup I've only had 1 dead stick, and that was due to not tuning for performance. Hope that helps...My2cents

RE: 10cg Expo programming question
Hey thanks BAX, yes this pix is my transmitter. Well I was thinking the graph should only look like the upper right portion of the graph only, but gave it alot of thought and figured that was only one direction travel for the surface, and the bottom half of the graph is the travel in other direction. Am I correct? At any rate I've flow the airplane it seems to work correctly removing alot of twitchy-ness.

RE: *Hangar 9 New Pulse 125*
Yes Jerry that tail wheel setup is the nemesis, well then that explains it. Well it looks like you'll have pile on some weight. Hmm I wonder what that Sullivan tail wheel setup weighs compared to the Sig?

RE: *Hangar 9 New Pulse 125*
ORIGINAL: Jerry Hicks I acquired a Pulse 125 at the annual local RC club auction two years ago. It came from the estate of a deceased club member. He had it powered with a OS 120AX and standard issue muffler. It's been sitting on the shelf in ''moth balls'' until a couple weeks ago when I pulled it out and dusted it off and began readying it for flight. I choose to mount up a Saito 125, and installed a larger fuel tank. I swapped the standard wheels (had flat spots from sitting) with new Sullivan Skylites, and added a new Sig medium size tail wheel assembly. I changed out the battery with a Hobbico 1800mah LiFe battery, just behind the fuel tank. I rounded it out with a used 2 3/4'' Tru Turn spinner. I expected to have to add a bit of weight to the front of the airplane when I balanced it, but... I didn't expect to need 12 ONCES of lead up near the firewall. The CG is supposed to be 3 11/16'' aft of the leading edge of the wing. I've tried it right side up and inverted, doesn't make any difference, it's going to take at least 12 onces. Has anybody else run into this particular problem...? I'm going to move the battery farther forward, and I may install a 2100 mah battery to offset some of the lead. But still, this seems like I'm adding a lot of weight. Is this consistent with other folks experiences? Jerry Hicks
Hey Jerry the OS 120AX is a PEACH! for me for this model, concidering I also have a NIB Saito 125 on the bench. I added no weight to get the CG dialed in to spec's using the Hangar 9 aluminum engine mount. Only added 1/2 ounce to balance it laterally. I also have my battery (JR 2700mah) mounted just behind the fuel tank. Hmm ya 12ounce seems like much, if that much weight is needed you might want to try a better but heavier engine mount instead of the stock one. Like the Hangar 9 aluminum one I'm using, you might only have to add like 7 ounces, or maybe even that heavy $40 metal Sullivan engine mount which might put you right on. Just trying to give you somtin to bit on.

10cg Expo programming question
Hello all, Where I am I going wrong, I'm trying to setup Expo, but I'm getting something that looks nothing like the bar graph should look like? (see pix). I do have a mix for dual channels on Ailers, but this is the Elevator setting? Or am I way off base, I've been reading and searching here for 3 day's with no avail. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

RE: *Hangar 9 New Pulse 125*
ORIGINAL: nefariousrc Figured I'd add a few pics of the DLE20 installed on my Pulse for anybody who's interested in going this route.
Looks like fun nefariousrc, though you may want take a closer exam of the engine mount. They are cheap a very porous inside, mine had large air bubbles on the inside.. and I think they are made for a smaller engine. It appears that your engine bolts don't travel all the way thru the mount, are they self tapping screw you have there?....Oooch! Just trying to prevent you from going thru what I just did, and I'm running a 120ax more output then the DLE20, but the DLE20 has more lowend torque I believe...Oooch! So this is what I'm dealing with, final approach 10' up 30' from touch down, both arms break free from what remained attached to fire wall. Must of cracked 1 or both mount arms on a nose over on my maiden. I noticed it was vibrating pretty bad at low rpm and when transtioning after the first flight but thought it was new engine jitters (noob). Also I believe over tighten bolts [sm=disappointed.gif] Take a look, and my remedy....metal.

Hey Brian glad to help! grosbeak if there is no binding and it operates freely, and it's glued in good I'd run it like it is, and reorder the vertical and stab set only $40 bucks, but many will say cut and reglue. In my fix it's only a $40 dollar mistake. If you cut and glue and if it should come off in flight 50/50 chance you can land it :) / :( . Steve

RE: *Hangar 9 New Pulse 125*
Looks great grosbeak. There is a long span between the 2nd bulkhead and the 4th BH where there is no support so I added a brace to support all three rods at BH 3 nice and neat. I figured since one rod was relying on the other for it's movement best be support there also. The Pulse 60 comes stock supported at all 4 bulkheads, a smaller model...?? Then finally I spun the elevator servo 180 to give room for throw since dealing with a larger diameter 4-40 rod, less give in tight places. Metal clevis soldered on 4-40 at servo horn (getting pretty good at this). Let me add that this mod is much easier to do on 125 then the 60, much more room! Steve

Yours look to be epoxy'd in mine were glued in with something that looked like canopy glue, but at any rate I cut the tubes in sections and slowly twisted them out without any real damage. It should be the same with epoxy. As you can see with mine I did use epoxy to glue in the new runs.
