RE: Jobs of RC people
I'm a 47yo stay at home dad. Greatest job I never wanted. School year is busy with volunteering at the kids' school, and summers are lazy do whatever times. Works out pretty good. Handyman too when the need arises. Kelly

mini quake steering servo
Has anyone figured a better way to mount the steering servo on a mini quake? Industrial strength two sided tape just isn't cutting it anymore.

RE: How do you fit a 7 cell battery in an RC18T?
Seven cells fit with no prob in this config. (|===) I've made two so far.

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Lighting VX Thread
Ok, got a Vx in the beginning of Jan. Three tanks later, both middle gears chewed to uselesness... anyone else have this problem? After I got it running the first time, I liked the motor and chassis, but..... I wonder if this is an engineering prob or just an isolated problem?

RE: engine stalling
Same prob with my rush evo w/ same motor. Base settings from HPI are questionable. My book says three turns out on hsn, but mine would cut off just the same as yours. Mine is now set at about 1 1/4 and the lsn is set 1/16 richer than base. finally got it running again.

lipo's vs nimh
So if lipo's pack in 4x the power of nimh, do you get more run time or ? I see the mah ratings and don't get the relationship in lipo's. Is it the same as all batteries, ie; more mah, more run time? And could you run a higher voltage without burning up the motor or ESC? I'm new to RC's and lipo's, though expensive, sure look like a good investment. Thanks

RE: STAMPEDE
I don't know what durable really is, since this is my first RC also. But in the 3-4 months that I've had my Stampede, it's been broken about as much as its been running. Wheel bushings, then small bearings eaten up, camber blocks stripped out, shock caps broken and leaky shocks, 2 servo savers and I can now tell my servo is on the short list of replacement parts. With no hobby shops within an hour of home, repairs take a little more time. On the other hand, the abuse given to this little all plastic truck has been incredible. Had a 2 ft. or so drop off I used as a jump for the first couple weeks, til I broke something. Had lots of trees in the way, til I broke something. Rolled arse over tincups til I broke something. But it sure has been fun! Battery life is my only REAL gripe. Even with 7 cell 3300mah batteries, 20 minutes max run time.
