I use a dental pick to pull my coils out. I have had good luck with McCoy MC-9 plugs. These are also sold under the Hangar 9 name but they are still call MC-9s.

RE: Paint masking doesn't work out.
Something else I forgot to mention earlier that helps prevent your problem with masking its the proper way to remove the tape. Never, never, never, pull up on the tape! Just start getting it coming off at one end of the tape and peel it back against itself very very carefully. The goal here is to minimize the actual lifting action that can cause your paint masking problem.

RE: New Parkzone ME 109G6
Anyone else have a problem with the fom tires being very out-of-round? The plastic wheels seem to spin tru but the tire itself is way out of shape. Makes for extremely bumpy taxiing and a very bumpy takeoff roll.

RE: Paint masking doesn't work out.
What I find is pretty effective if the paint is starting to dry is to take a #11 XActo blade and lightly score the paint right at the edge of the masking. This works especially well with paints that tend to have a little stretch in it when it dries.

RE: ECU Lipos
Lipos do not like to stay under or over their nominal voltage of roughly 3.86v per cell. The longer they stay +/- that voltage, the shorter their life. So, if you keep your lipos fully charged at all times, they will eventually die as described. To use them properly, you need a charger and discharger and fully charge them the morning before flying, and then after flying discharge them to 3.86v until the next time you fly.
Yes, I hear what you are saying, and I have been told the same before from others. I am sure you are absolutely correct. I just think it is strange that the only batteries I have had this problem with have all been Air Thunders. I have 5 Align 3S 2100ma batteries that are still going strong after 4 years of use. I have 4 Thunder Power 3S 2100s that are still great after 2 years of use and a Thunder Power 6S 5000MAH doing great after nearly two years of use. I don't treat any of my batteries any different than any other but I still find it curious that the Air Thunders are the only ones I have had last for maybe 15 cycles and then die on me. In the case of the Air Thunder 3s 2100ma battery it was more like 6 or 7 cycles before it was useless.

RE: St. Louis, Missouri Area Jet Clubs
St. Louis R/C Flying Association in Eureka is your best bet. As far as I know, when jet guys fly locally, most of them are flying there due to the nice runway and great facility. It is also the host for the annual Gateway Jets rally in early to mid June.

RE: ECU Lipos
Be very careful with those Air Thunder Lipos! I have had 3 out of 4 (so far) 6s 5000ma batteries go bad for no obvious reason. I had the same result with an Air Thunder 3s 2100ma. They all seem to charge to full capacity (and yes, they have always been balance charged) but last less than one minute in mild use in electric helicopters.

RE: WHAT TO DO IF YOU LOSE ORIENTATION IN FLIGHT
Other than sailplane pilots, I have never understood why a pilot will just stand there and watch the plane go nearly out of sight! Just turn the thing when it isn't very far out and there won't ever be this type of problem.

Three of my 4 Air Thunder 6S 5000ma batteries have also done this. The fourth one seems fine. I also have a ThunderPower 6s 5000ma that has never done this.

RE: What does the
When I am spotting for someone I always ask whether they have topped off their air and at the flightline whether they have started their timer. A spotter's job is also to hold a plane taxiing out for takeoff if his pilot is out of time and needs to land. The spotter has the reponsibility to let the other pilots on the flight line know when your pilot is doing his gear pass and setting up for a landing. The spotter also lets the pilot know the condition of the runway such as whether a plane that has just landed has cleared the runway so that his pilot can land. Some pilots like for their spotters to assist them in lining up on the runway for landing rather than risk landing too far to the side in the grass.

RE: What electric fuel pump do you use to fill your tanks that doesn't leak?
I have owned only one pump since I started with turbines 8 or 9 years ago. It has been ultra reliable and has never leaked a drop. You can't get a better pump than this one. I believe it is the same as the Greylor units others have posted about above. It is the same pump supplied on the Jersey Modeler fueling jugs: http://dreamworksrc.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=36_39&products_id=967

The club field is 32 miles away. We have an annual jet rally there. We often fly from a full size airport that is 46 miles away. Other wise I travel to jet events to fly. Jets over Kentucky, and Cincinnati Jets so far this year with Route 66 Jets coming up soon.

RE: Music at R/C Warbird Events: YEA or NAY? Please VOTE!
Some of the folks here cannot accept the fact that the great majority of the PILOTS do not want music playing at the events. The results of this poll are not inaccurate! If you still think so, you are in denial. Since when have events been held to entertain spectators with music? Most pilots who do not like the music will not complain about it to the organizers. I, for one, simply cross that event off of next year's calendar and go to another event instead. Our events should be first and foremost about what the participating pilots want from an event. Spectators don't come to an event for the music, they come to watch the planes fly! Every event I go to is well attended by spectators. Spectator attendance is far more about how well the event is publicised to the public than whether there is music playing. When the event organizers care more about entertaining spectators than what the pilots want, watch the participation in the event dwindle.
