RE: WTB Fema Starter for G62
Hi Warbird Lover, I have see the Toni Clark website. Do you have any experience ordering from them? Hi oldtyme, The Fema starter is a onboard electric starter for the engine. Flip a switch on the TX and start the engine. I want to get it for 3 reasons. Safety no hand in the prop, the TF GS P-47 I am building always need nose weight for CG so why not make it functional. I think it is really cool and always wanted one.

RE: Bud Nosen P-51 correct CG
Hi Chrisansilver, I have not had time to measure my throws yet. But, some thing that is very important about my setup and I learn the hard way is the need for 30 - 40% expo on the elevator.

Hi Chrisansilver, My plans show the CG at 8 and 1/16 inches from the front of the leading edge of the wing. (measured from the middle "span wise" of the wing)

Hi All, Thanks for the input. Angelrcdesign, Your T-38 look to be about the same size as my F-5. What is its weight? What is it construction? Where is your CG? How did you get it to balance? Did you do it with only need equipment? Thank Steve

RE: 102" Mustang with no Flaps???
Hi desmond43, Crashproof, gives a good summary. When I built the airplane there was a trailing edge for the wing and a leading edge for the flap that were glued into place. When I went back to add the flaps, I cut the flap off so that the leading edge of the flap stayed glued to the wing. This gave me plenty of wood to support the hinges. Now for the flaps, 1st I added a shaped block of balsa wood to support the control arm. Then I made a new leading edge for the flap. I hinged them per the plan, which is to place the hinge off center about 1/4 inch from the bottom of the wing. To prevent the flaps from going up past the align point with the wing I added a 1/2 strip of wood to the top leading edge that fills the gap caused by the hinge. This also seals the gap during flight. This is not scale but works well. Of course, I had to add a servo for each flap. I have them mounted into the bottom of the wing with the top exposed driving the pushrod. I did not take any picture of this while making the change. But are a few shots of the completed flaps.

RE: 102" Mustang with no Flaps???
Hi desmond43, I have a Nosen P-51 that I first flew without flaps. I weighs about 30 pounds. I had trouble landing it. I went back and added flaps to it. I am very glad I did. It lands much better now. I would highly recommend them.

RE: Where can I buy a 1/8 or 1/9 Jet pilot figure???
Hi, Thanks for the inputs. I also ordered a Century Jet pilot and was very disopinted by its quality and it is very heavy. I can't find a Hanger 9 pilot at my LHS and they are on back ordered at the Hanger 9 web site[:o] I was hoping there was a third option.
