RE: Koverall/Coverite/Dope
Thanks Walt! Digging a little deeper into this mystery, I fould the old box of covering..and guess what...it WAS Solartex that was used so far. About a 1/3 of red left, but 4 rolls of Solartex Blue never opened! Looks like it's gonna be Solartex! Thanks for the input! Steve

Koverall/Coverite/Dope
Ok...So I'm thinking of doing the Pica Waco 1/5 in all Koverall. My Dad started the Waco by covering the tail with something I do not know what is! So, gonna carefully rip that off and re-start the covering process. I'd like to do the entire thing in Koverall. From what I've read here on the board, it's the way to go. I can paint it ANY color I want! And it seems to last longer. Any advice? Never used it. Pic attached of what Dad did. Thanks! Steve

RE: Wood Gllue
Yea! Those planes were "Right on the money". Some of my Dad's old planes that were built in the 60's with ambroid are still strong as hell! The wood will break before the joint at the ambroid. Incredible. Thanks! Steve

Wood Gllue
Is there ANYTHING that replaces Ambroid? A trip to my local 45 year old hobby shop netted only a "We can no longer get it....I'd try Elmer's Professional Wood glue!" My Dad started this WACO with Ambroid, and my patience to getting the best of me. I want to re-start this thing! I've tried internet searches all I get is "out of stock" or "back ordered". I even tried the Canoe People at www.ottertooth.com So, fellas, what should I do? Continue the search for ambroid or use something else? When I was building and flying 20+ years ago, ambroid was "the cat's meow". Who uses what?.....I'd like some advice. As always.....Thanks! Steve

RE: WACO YMF
Gentlemen, I'd like to become a member of the Waco Brotherhood. I absolutely LOVE these planes, and feel that each one of them stands for all that's classic and vintage about our hobby was well as aviation its self. There's just something that "speaks" or "clicks" in my heart when I see a Waco flying! I'm in the process of building a Pica Waco YMF 1/5 scale, that my Dad left when he passed. He never finished it. And I feel as though he has passed me the "Waco torch" to carry on.... Let me know what I have to do....... Steve Myers

Pica Waco YMF 1/5
Hello All, Glad to be a part of the board. My Dad and I flew for many years, since i was 15. I'm now 46. I lost him 2 years ago, and going thru the garage, found his half built Pica Waco YMF. I'd like to finish it in his memory and fly again. I've heard Pica went out of business. And I need the instructions. I have the plans, just need the instructions. If anyone has built this beauty, and still has the instructions, let me know! I have attached a pic of Dad's Waco. Thanks! Appreciate letting me be a part of the fourm. Steve
