Building a QHOR, PQHOR, and a SPA3D
Tattoo, Dave McD and myself outlined the definenition of a QHOR crash: There has to be at lease three pieces come off the plane. One or more pieces must be outside of a ten foot circle. If it does not meet these requirements it was just a hard landing! Steve

Tattoo had a fun fly at LORCS yesterday, looked like a spad fest. There was a lot of very nice planes, but you seen more plastic in the air. QHOR was the only thing I took. Dave Mc introduced several good flyers to pizza boxes, X-boxes, and QHORs a very good time was had by all.

Eldon is about 150 miles from Kansas City, we are just north of Lake Of the Ozarks. We have two very nice flying sites within ten miles of each. Grass runways and a few trees but more than enough room, even for the big boys!

Bully Ignition Pick-Up
Chuck if RCIGN1 is no good contact Gene Barton blkbrt610@earthlink.net I know he has some but I don't think you will like the Bully on gas it does not have near the power they do on glow. You can run Bully's on 5% oil and no nitro or 5% nitro so fuel is reasonable.

I build mine the cheap way, we fly off a grass field I did fixed gear. I also do not have cowling on this one. I had a small one with MDS .28s on it and the overheated with the cowls. The way the fire wall is on the OV-10 you need to duct the hot air out some way, mine did not have enough exit area. I fixed it the easy way on the bigger one I left the cowls off. Yea I know it does not look right but it sure is fun to fly!!!

I will not tell you know sometimes things just happen! I have alway felt it usaully was for the better. I think you will like having flaps. I took off work Friday it going to be nice here and hope to get a few more flights on the OV-10. I will try to get a picture to post.

I scratch built a 70 inch version. Mine is about 13lbs I'm not sure always been to scareed to weigh it!! I first flew it off of grass with a pair of MDS.40's It was scarey a little low on power no room for mistakes. I went to a pair of Thunder Tiger .61's and made a fun airplane to fly. I mistake I made was not putting flaps on it, landing speeds are very high. We have about 900 foot of very nice grass runway and it takes most of it to land! Live and learn high wing loaded airplanes need flaps!

I used the Norvel .25 and it is just a fuzz under three pounds. I did a 32 inch wing span, cause thats what I had and it seemed silly to trim two inches off. Call me when you what to go. You haven't got to fly my .40 powered Taco yet. It has a roll rate you can not count!

Dave, I was at Wal Mart tonight and found some 300 mah 2.4 volt packs I bought two of them and hot glued them together, wired them into a 4.8 volt pack and have them on the charger. I have about $11.00 bucks in the pack. Not cheap but not bad either. I've been working on PBF #2 The Pepsi plane. I used Rustolem clear to cover the logo, I know it's fuel proof. Steve
