RE: New Pacific Aeromodel Clip Wing Monocoupe
Tom, It could be either or both. In this case, it's more than likely tail heavy. We had the same problem with the Waco's until we actually got to checking the Center of Balance by using the Mean Aerodynamic Chord measurement and found that we were all flying with the C/B too far rearward. RE: WACO YMF
ORIGINAL: Ekim Hey Rick..........I don't think you've been doing too much ''sitting on your butt''. I see in the latest copy of Model Aviation your ''finely crafted Eindecker'' won best WWI aircraft in the Bell Air R/C clubs 4th annual War Birds event. Also it's good to have another Barth 1/4 scaler I can comiserate with. This past weekend I finished framing up the last wing panel, which means I now have the ''bones'' of all the components assembled. I just couldn't resist the tempation to tape them all together just to see if they did indeed resemble some sort of an airplane. It's a good stopping point for me as we will be heading to Venice, FL for the winter. The WACO will be waiting for me in the spring, with many more hours of work to be done on it. Even though this is considered a Pica WACO thread, the information and help I've received on my Barth kit goes well betond description. I would be lost if it were to go away. It's my main place for information and help. John H., Anthony, Jim, and many others have provided a wealth of knowledge and experience. Bill, you've had many great ideas throughout this thread, but you kind of shanked one with this shutting down the thread idea. Just tee up another one , take a mulligan, and lets move on. Here's all my Barth WACO ''bones''together. I know it's pretty crude looking right now, but it looks beautiful to me.
When you get to the Wildwood Florida exit jump off and call me. I'm in Leesburg (on US 27/441), and it's only about 10 miles away from that exit. This is the exit just before the Turnpike exit. Bill, Waco Brother #1 Phone 352-978-1708

RE: How to handle a difficult pilot!
ORIGINAL: Srewinkel FCMG should have posted his card, but he does not HAVE to. So to get back to the original question of how to handle the guy.  Leave him be, if he becomes dangerous while flying, or threatens violence to people, then the group should handle the situation.  I didn't realize that threatening to beat someone up is a crime to be arrest for.
Didn't sound like a threat to me. It actually sounded more like a promise. When I belonged to some clubs, there were always a bunch of ex hall monitors who were very proud of their positions within the clubs. I have seen them really try to throw their weight around until someone called them on it. They always turned tail and ran like Hell. Bill, AMA 4720

RE: Is there more to AMA than paying your money and flying your model airplane?
ORIGINAL: combatpigg KE, some of the misunderstanding in reference to identifying true AMA bashing is due to a lack of reading comprehension, reading ability, dealing with abstract concepts, maybe even RF interference through their foil helmut liners. Calling this thread AMA bashing is both paranoid and schizophrenic. Ever notice that it's always the ''scale guys'' who get sideways when you call their ''exact scale flying replicas'' ......''TOYs''? [:D] The worst cases are those guys who are into scale trains who wear the RR engineer outfits while they play........
Pigg, I'm probably one of the most involved Scale Guy that you will ever meet. I build and fly Toy Airplanes. Been calling them that for years. RE: How to handle a difficult pilot!
ORIGINAL: cccdad Very Interesting responses. The Club is a chartered club with AMA a land use agreement with the county requires that we maintain the charter to use the feild. Proof of AMA is a part of the land use agreement. The county has posted signs giving authority to the Club ''Safety Marshalls'' to enforce flying site rules. I am the only ''Safety Marshall'' but what is not spelled out is how to enforce the site rules. I have read several posts not to bother with the mere posting of a card. But what alternative is there to ensure Proof of AMA? Posting of AMA on a 2.4 frequecy board is just a convienent place to post. obviously not for frequency control. I have thought to take up the issue with the park, and may as a last resort. And as for taking the punch I have not backed down and should he throw a punch I will pursue criminal charges. My demeanor is not to feed into that violence and I maintain a calm tone and try to reason with him, which seems to aggitate him more.@ Sooperflye You sound like some ambulance chaser lawyer. Views like that are the reason why this countries tort system is costing us all an arm and a leg. Im sure you would argue that a cop running radar is harrassing the public over a civil infraction, as opposed to stopping lead foot drivers. As for getting rid of the board there are still pilots that currently use 72Mhz, But the core issue is pilots that may not have AMA insurance are using an AMA chartered club field. A simple inquiry in the past has always worked until this guy, who has stated he refuses to conform to the site rules.
Didn't you post that you personally renewed his membership this year? How many times do you want to see his card? I understand that you want him to pin his card up, and if it is a club rule, and your club has been given the responsibility to enforce the rules by the owners of the property, then call the appropriate authorities. If you continue to provoke this person then you might have a problem making an assualt charge stick. He could even bring this thread to court. You should read it from the outside looking in. It does kind of sound like you are watching him. I'm not an attorney, but I'm not a club member anywere any longer either. I fly at a private field, and we don't have any of these issues. You either are invited to fly or you are trespassing. Bill, AMA 4720
ORIGINAL: Hossfly Yep, ol Hoss Fly received his LETTER of REJECTION this Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. You best act as if you do not know me, never heard of me, and never will associate with this black listed individual. [;)] [sm=cry_smile.gif] Ol' Hoss used some XXs in his post and that is considered VULGARITY in the great Academy of Model Aeronautics' Forums. I have been banned from AMA Forums for one month. [sm=red_smile.gif] No ''Wwarning Tickets'' over there. Therefore, may I suggest that you be very careful how you react on that forum. Maybe it would help if I start practicing being a better boy here. Whatever the case, things are getting tough all over. Be NICE! Red and Frank run a tight ship over there. RE: WACO YMF
ORIGINAL: Neil K Are there any plans in the near future to get a new batch of Waco Brotherhood shirts? Neil Kilchriste Waco Brother # 142
Yes, there are plans to get a new batch of the shirts. I have been trying without success to reach Jay (damifino) who has the connection to the place that did the first batch. We were on track to make at least one more run, but Jay's place of employment was sold, and he had to start job hunting. He has been heavily involved in building Street Rods for some of the Nascar drivers, and that is taking all his available time. I tried to call him this weekend, and got no answer on either his cell or his home phone. If I knew the name of the company that he uses, I would contact them direct, but I have not a clue as to who they are. They have the artwork and the screens already set up. Starting from scratch with a different company would probably be cost prohibitive. If the Brotherhood wishes, I can try a different company, but it will mean changing the Brotherhood logo enough to not infringe on a copyright that the original company may feel as if they own, since they designed the original. Ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. Bill, Waco Brother #1
ORIGINAL: VOX Hello Bill, I have written the letter to Michel. He has answered me, that its these drawings do not interest (I can show this letter). Simply time which very quickly leaves is a pity to me... Now I have enough ONLY the good sketch or some good photos of a fuselage that I could continue the work. I very much wish to make model very close to the original! Model scale 1:2. Albert
I will make sure that you get a set, but only after the AMR kits are released.
