Looking good so far. It is wise not to put an alu spinner (though a bit more appealing), as it will balance nose heavy I guess. Do you plan to install a tuned pipe ?

RE: Novarossi 50 help
I heard that Hatori pipes are not better than MACS pipes..., peolple say it to me, Macs are most eficient than the others, what do you think?
Indeed, the typical unbaffled dual cone are the most efficient designs in terms of power, while the less efficient in terms of noise. The muffled MACS pipes should be as good as the hatori but not better, and it seems to me you have a muffled macs pipe (old model ?). I don't know how many chambers it has, but sure it is muffled. If you want all out performance, buy this : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXZ561&P=7 [image]http://www2.gpmd.com/image/m/macg1150.jpg[/image]

RE: Skybolt hangar and clubhouse
ORIGINAL: mfelsman hey guys, my firsy time on one of these threads. Just finished my skybolt ARF last week and only have one flight under my wings. Spent a lot of time on the ground getting the Saito 100 tuned in and didn't refuel before takeoff. It started to stutter a little which was a clue to get it on the ground on my terms. Had to set it down a little hard and splayed one of the gears. Wanted to get it back to the hangar to fix that and haven't had a chance to get it airborne since. This plane drew a bunch of compliments from he spectators at the field. Will try to get it back up tomorrow, weather permitting. marty
This one looks nice ! Which brand is it ?

Hello all ! Stunning SkyBolts you've got there, but mostly GP... I have a Sig Skybolt kit in the attic. What would be the biggest acceptable engine (2C) ? OS.91 ?

RE: Novarossi 50 help
ORIGINAL: gsalort1978 - Coul you say me how to Tuning the exhaust system. I used and tuned engines with tuned pipes like Macs(www.macspro.com) which are made of two cones (opposite each other). Movarrossi tuned pipe is different,I can' t see the ''baffle cone'', an also have 3 marks (streaps) in the end.
It works the same. It has several chambers in order to reduce noise, just like the well known Hatori or YUSA pipes. Those 3 marks are the walls between the chambers. The way to adjust the header length is exactly the one used to tune macs pipes.
What is the recomended prop for this engine and RPM range? I want a fast model, so I want to use a small diameter and high pitch propeller.
It all depends on the airframe. I would start with a 9x8. Is that engine broken in ?
What is the most suitable fuel, nitro %? 5%, 10%, 15%? CASTOR OR SYNTETIC OIL.
Being a european engine, I bet it will not like high nitro (but who knows), and I wouldn't go over 5%. Castor preferred during break in, and high quality synth oil can be used after that (Aerosave, Motul micro, etc...).
ORIGINAL: gsalort1978 Dear Could you tell me the experience with this engine? Why do you say ''that NovaRossi engine freaks me out''?. All the information is usefull for me. If you do not post here, send me a private message, please. Who is BOB?, where can I contact him? Best wishes. Gabriel.
Normally, these highly expensive NovaRossi engines have lots of power. bob27s is the Jett expert here, he certainly knows if a Jett.60 would outperform that NR .50 beast.
ORIGINAL: ProBroJoe
ORIGINAL: Strykaas Is that the newest G45 or the older one ? Sure sounds good.
Yup, that's a Chinese one that I dragged outta the bay fer cheap - probably because the original owner couldn't tune it! I didn't have a muffler for it at the time the video was made, so I just threw on the pipe - didn't even play with the header length
ORIGINAL: Eagleburger I built one of those a few years ago and all the wood was very heavy. The kit was cheap as chips so I just built it stock and it flew alright. Had a super tigre 34 in it. Like you say definately not a floater, but get the wing incidences right and it wont be too snappy. Plenty of cheap mini servos now that could save you 3-4oz. RE: Overweight Precedent BI-Fly 25 : what to do ?
Indeed CP. I have several spare options.Webra .32 and Magnum 36 xls, but the Mag is 30 grams heavier. A tuned pipe wouldn't be pretty... But I could mount the engine upside down and run the pipe through the (big) fuse. That 2nd hand bipe is a nice style exercise :). Here it is. I've bought it for 100 eur (140 usd) including a brand new OS .25 SF (for those who know what these engines are).
