RE: Anybody gonna do a EU1A build thread?
I think I can get around 9-9.5 pounds. I dont know about the gorila glue, if it expands out of the wood it seems it would be very tough to sand it.

RE: Anybody gonna do a EU1A build thread?
I have several choices to power it with, Novarossi 60f RE with MC carb, O.S. 91DF, O.S. 91RZ-H Rear Exhaust Heli with MC carb, or Jett 90 RE. That heli engine will flat go with a 11.5x9 CF prop!

RE: Anybody gonna do a EU1A build thread?
I am getting set up so its gonna be a couple of weeks before a buy the kit, the reason I wont them light is I can glass and paint as light as anybody, always had a knack for that. so it has to be fully sheeted, I did think of honeycombing the cores though.

RE: Anybody gonna do a EU1A build thread?
I can not remember exactly but length and span are close to typical 60 pattern ships. but everything is wider than your typical 60 ship. 10 pounds+ is common some get them around 9.5. but a wonderful flying airplane once on step. gonna have to get together and do a build thread......................Ed

I will give it a shot, How have you been? I bought your viper 91 from you a while back and loved that bird. that 91 put out the power and never could find one to do it since. same set up as original and the rest just fell on their face.

RE: Webra 80f LS
Doxilla I have two of the speed 80 SE one nib and the other on a TIPO 750 and its a super powerful engine, mine has bolt on exhaust instead of strap on like the earlier ones with a webra factory header and pipe, tn2 carb 11.5x9 bolly carbon prop. wish they were still around.

RE: relocating hinge slots
Sounds good thanks for the help, It will take a little time to get used to this tool, one other thing I noticed is that if tips are installed prior to hinging you cant get it to the edge as far as needed.

relocating hinge slots
I have been building for 24 years and have stumbled on a new problem. I went out and bought the electric hinge slotting tool from great planes and even thought its quick, it will cut a nice slot in the wrong place fast! I ended up with the elevator hinges off center and would like to know if there is some way to fill in the hinge slots and relocate, I think filler will work fine but just looking for a different opinion.

RE: Curare Build
I know this is old but when installed the trailing edge before sheeting the wings how did you taper it to follow the airfoil without harming the cores, or was it already pre-shaped? ...............................thanks

RE: Who made the Royal ARF kits?
Older arfs from royal like the telstar and cheerokee , chipmunk were just like OK model factory or EZ arfs, I actually think they kitted them for royal as they did for global sportsman etc, if you have one look at the plastic hardware tree and you will find ok model factory on the flashing..................Ed

RE: phoenix ARF
I called the first two times to talk to Product Support. Stayed on hold for 15minutes the first time to explain what problems I had and finally I gave them my call back info. Never heard anything back that day. Next day I call again after another 15 minutes or so I do the same with the call back info. They called me back within the next hour, I very nicely explained all the problems I was having and was willing to deal with fixing the misaligned control surfaces. But the crooked vertical and fuzzy paint lines I was not. they did ask me to photo this stuff and they and the experts at Horizon would get back with me. I never got a return call or email after a day and a half. I called to make sure they got it. After 5 minutes of searching they said yeah but it looks straight to them. So I told them that I would not be going through this if it was straight and would really like to get a replacement fuselage for the one I have now. They want me to send mine to them so they can evaluate it and then if they determine that it has fuzzy paint lines and a crooked vertical fin tip It would take 10 to 15 days for a replacement fuselage. ................

RE: phoenix ARF
I looked at another plane the other day (phoenix 7 arf) that was flawless compared to mine, I dont understand why horizon did not sell me one like the one I looked at yesterday. I have called them a few times and sent a picture and no good customer service in my opinion. If they will make it right I would buy two more, I have lots of kick ass engines that need this type of home.

RE: phoenix ARF
I have no problem with the country it was built in. Also I think Mike M. did a good job with this project and would love to see more like this in the future. I just like my stuff right no matter where its built or if its 1.00 or 350.00. I work hard for my money as do most others. Now if I could get the fuselage replaced without jumping through hoops I will be happy...............................................ED

Anybody doing a build thread on an EU1-A. Maybe we can do one together. Last one I had I bought used and loved it. Should have never let it go. It weighed a ton but once it was on step it would groove like no other.
