RE: Hitec Aurora 9 2.4GHz Tx & Optima 9-Channel Rx
this remote rocks for its capability and functionality... and offcourse its actually priced low... for a 9CH thats not normal... I think its gonna take over the 9CH market, cause they can only improve on it from here even more that they have all ready...

RE: Hitec Aurora 9 2.4GHz Tx & Optima 9-Channel Rx
there is another thread on this I read a while ago... there was a demo version out to test and its been tested for the past year or so... now the final release is coming... its gonna have some cool telemetry features also like fuel gauge, rpm, altitude and so forth... do a search on threads... I am getting me one as soon as it hits SA borders...

RE: Revolver a speed plane?
[quote]ORIGINAL: cavandish My rev has a jet 90 Lx 11x8=147MPH with onboard gps straight and level. I flew in a 35 mph wind the other day, it is not relaxing, but this plane whoops it up, and can still be put down safely, that wind makes the downwind leg faaaast ! I have read on 'the' revolver forum on here, of a 12 cell elec revolver doing late 150's, personally I do not doubt this claim for a second. I got mine second hand also, only just broken in... from what I know of the car engines, these must be awesome too... at first the weight seemed like it would be a problem but after emailing GP for my Revolver they assured I will be good to go...

what prop are you using with the 65 and at what rpm is it turning on ground? also which muffler are you using? I have the same engine, still waiting to be used but would like to know your preference on it...

RE: Rossi engine info?
hey man... Airframe is this the plane? well a GP Revolver... I have seen on youtube a guy with an electric motor doing 159MPH... without reinforcing, I mailed him to make sure... cause I needed to know if it could handle my target speed... [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NL_ZbFv0xFE]159MPH Revolver[/link] and one other thing... I like the muffler on the Rossi site better than the header with the side pipe... have you used the muffler before? I see its tuned for the same RPM's...

I wont be doing 20K I think... I am aiming for round 14.5K - 16K on ground and hopefully just around 17K in air... want to fly at least 120... or thats the aim...

RE: Rossi engine info?
I like your style... I have a R65 Rossi... one of their consultants instructed me to go with a 11x8 to get to 16K on ground... peak power is at 17K RPM... but like said before I will use carbon prop for most efficiency... have you got some specific prop which you like? I am using APC 11x8 at moment but I haven't tested it yet due to not having muffler yet...

my peak power is at 17K RPM... but thats not my worry... at what RPMS will the power drop and will I start losing speed?

RE: Rossi engine info?
I have the R65 Rossi engine... also looking at going fast... the manufacturers tell me that 11x7 or 11x8 will get me up to 16K RPM which is where the peak power lies but I want the RPM for speed... some have said that the engine will actually start to lose speed when getting too much revs... when does the power start dropping going beyond a certain RPM? cause If I can keep the RPM to around not more than 17.5K in air that shouldn't happen...

actually a 11x7... Rossi R65 puts out 3.5HP @ 16000... but I want the RPMS for speed... with 11x8 I am hoping for 14K RPM or so and in air while diving it will pick up...

yeah that was the plan... I was planning on doing so... yeah I know that the further away the less weight... servo weighs 45g each, which might be too much weight all ready...
