RE: First order through Hobby king
on your second order only one thing came to mind [image]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IiTlFrX0DH4/T4G1LNZmepI/AAAAAAAAA7A/moqZZhgtQNk/s1600/patience_grasshopper.jpg[/image] do realize they put through more orders a week then most hobby shops probably do a year and if something went on backorder they will hold up the whole order If impatient then I wouldn't recommend HK. They are good if you don't need something yesterday.

RE: rc4wd vs axial
ORIGINAL: mugwart So I should go with the dingo kit and use the extra money to buy better servos since I already have a 3 channel radio
you do know you will also need a esc, and motor right? in my honcho I use the traxxas XL-5 esc, and a traxxas servo (wanted it waterproof) with either a tamiya 27t can or a hpi saturn 35t can't remember which motor it is as the sticker on it came off a long time ago ;)

RE: rc4wd vs axial
ORIGINAL: Foxy Start with the Axial Honcho, as you first thought. Its a good kit, and most importantly, it will give you a taste of scaling in the most general way. If you don't like that taste very much, the Axial will sell on very easily and you've lost almost nothing. If you DO like the taste, again the Axial will sell on very easily and you can start speccing something much more custom from GMade or RC4wd or any other custom scaler firm. See what you think of the Gmade R1, too... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_912_2648/products_id/244829/n/Gmade-R1-1-10-Rock-Buggy-Kit
honcho is no longer a kit its RTR only it would be the dingo that is the kit the rc4wd one looks nice, but some of the stuff IMO is not really needed like that fake engine piece I see on the pic cause lets face it under the lid how real can it look with a huge honkin battery, ESC, receiver, and 2 servos(one for the tranny). but will admit it does look nice with nothing mounted :D

But if you need parts megatech megapro parts are an exact fit(as megatech manufactured the pro-pulse), and the majority of HPI recon parts (if you are completely desperate for a part) will fit outside the chassis, and motor mount http://www.rchobbyexplosion.com/Megatech_MegaPro_Pro_Pulse_Parts_s/136.htm where I got parts from found them to be reasonable also welcome to ground based RC's ;)

RE: New 1/8 e monster from Associated
wow now I know why that pic looks familiar we had a post on this truck over month ago (just searched) as for why it looks photo shopped IMO the fingers are kinda just cut off, the shadowing is way too perfect for being taken outside, and around her there seems to be an aura that reminds me of when I used to photo shop pictures of the blend tool. But that is just how it looks to me (and 1 or 2 others in last months thread ;))

go buy a SCT body, and some fenders off some other model (would have to modify them to screw in) and make it a SCT ;) would also have to screw body mounts in somewhere like probably use unused shock mounting holes on the shock tower SCT's and 1/8th buggies have the same wheelbase

Main reason is it took me many more electric RC's to find a few I was happy with, and funny enough almost every electric RC I'm happy with started out its life as a nitro.

RE: bandit 2410 to 24054/2407L upgrade parts?
ORIGINAL: Higgins909 well Im looking to make my new, but used bandit 2410 more like the newer bandits, right away I notice the wheels are different, I can get what I think is a 2.5mm hex (took from my jato for testing) to work on the rears but the front the shafts are too short, and any1 know what gears I need to make metal? instead of buying a whole new tranny from ebay for about $37 maby I can save by buying just the gears. I was looking at traxxas powerup thing and its a total ripoff for the radio? they want my tq and $60 for it when I can ebay about $50? and keep my old radio? whats up with that? Thanks, Higgins909
its a total ripoff period not just for the radio ;) or could get a flysky GT2 2.4ghz for $19-21 or if you want the 10 model memory one GT3b for $35 off quite a few site (I own a few of their radios and no issues) as for the gears just get the traxxas manual for the vxl bandit, and look at the part difference in the tranny

it won't cog a lot of people from what I read on the racing forum usually recommend 1850's so a 1800 isn't much lower think like this the 1800 on 4S's RPM's will be 200 RPM's more than a Traxxas verlinion motor is on 2S
Well I can drive so that's not a problem :) but yeah that sucks. RE: Comcast Gateway suggestions
guess I'll throw out an update found a used DOCSIS 3.0 modem for like $35 shipped on ebay, and got that. Got my new internets installed today. Getting over 2 MBps download (yes that is MegaBytes not bits). Was shocked I downloaded a 7 gig patch for wow in like an hour (and after 5 mins of playing I gave up seeing its so bland now) Was supposed to be last thursday but the installer walked out cause he was too stupid to understand simple instructions, and was trying to imply I was attempting to steal TV... This was after he told me he didn't work for AT&T when I told him to drill 2-3 inches above the phone wire to get the cable wire into the house(seriously don't ask me the installer was one of the dumbest people I've met in ages)... He was also an actual comcast installer... Todays installer was cool(he was a contractor), and told me I had the easiest install he had in weeks seeing I had the wire pre-ran to where I waned the modem all he had to do was bring the wire in. AT&T wasn't too happy on the other hand when I canceled ;)

RE: Custom Low-Rider Build
ORIGINAL: phmaximus what part dont u agree with? U think wood would look scale? U think it sgoing to last a long time? Would be harder with paddlepop sticks? u think there is a carpenter that could make a scale looking chassis like something found in other scale cars like a SCX10?
in all fairness he isn't trying to make a scale looking chassis, and honestly you don't see the chassis on low riders so that shouldn't be an issue. All he would need is the right wheelbase so the tires sit properly. lets face it most RC's like the SCX10 honestly how scale do they look under the body? Last I looked the jeep 4x4 had a gas engine not an electric motor, and an ESC ;)

RE: This is ridiculous...
ORIGINAL: cumminspower5.9 Well I know how to solder, no doubt about that, it's just getting the solder to stick to the wires, and then get that to stick to the gold plated Deans connectors. PITA!
is your soldering iron hot enough? I know I had issues with some batteries getting the solder to hold cause the wires were so damn thick my soldering iron wasn't getting hot enough, and causing cold solder joints which would break. I had to get a soldering iron just for doing connectors that I think is a 275 watt iron ;) hey it can solder anything in 30 secs flat, and will blow out if on for a min lol

RE: Custom Low-Rider Build
ORIGINAL: thehuntingterminator I don't see why that I can't make a wooden rectangular frame strong enough to do 10-15mph on flat ground. I plan to use certain types of joints that make the wood fit together, epoxy, and some small screws or nails if need be.
worst comes to worst you could use some cheap L angle bracket aluminum strips that cost like $5 for 3 feet, and a $5 hack saw to cut it to strengthen the wood chassis.

RE: Custom Low-Rider Build
ORIGINAL: thehuntingterminator Like I said at the very beginning, this project will be more for looks than actual abilities. Also like I said, it will probably never get over 15mph, so I don't see why wood would have a problem. And yes, I would rather do an aluminum chassis, but wood is what I have access to and it's just simpler. Plus we like to try to keep all of our projects as simple as possible so that its possible for our viewers to re-create it or do something similar.
so basically like I assumed ;) Yea wood might have an issue for certain things though like the screws pulling out from the torque of the motor, and what not due to it having to be very thin. Might be able to get past that issue by using glue to hold the screws in though if it becomes an issue. But for one or 2 runs just for fun it probably will be fine as is. But hell I've seen RC's made out of cans of pringles. Also could use Popsicle sticks :D
I'd only assume he doesn't have the metal working tools. can't believe I missed that when I originally read the post. agree it won't hold up long, but if its just for a concept car that he doesn't care to run outside just test it might prove to be a good option actually as its easy to shape, and modify.
