RE: Monsoon Wheels on Avalanche?
Well i ended up ordering a set of these. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPEC5 They are 4 inch x 3.5 inch with 17mm hex so they are pretty much the exact same size as the stock avalanche wheels but look much beefier around the nut (where both of my wheels broke)

RE: Volcano SV Pro Steering Servo
I think servos are pretty universal, if you go to a LHS and ask for a high torque steering servo they will have what you need.

RE: Volcano SV Pro Steering Servo
did you reseat the connectors in the receiver? Maybe they came loose. If not, its probably a bad servo. They do go bad, i just replaced the steering servo in my avalanche last week. Spend the extra money and get a good high torque servo for the steering side it does make a difference.

;-) If anyone has a monsoon and could get some measurements on a wheel post them up! Also if anyone has replaced their avalanche wheels post up some pics of what you used! Thanks!

I know how that feels. Ive had days like that when you get all geared up to run, go out and get less than a tank and break something.

RE: Redcat Racing Tsunami Thread
aluminum grabs harder, so youll have a higher stall speed with the teflon shoes. I think the teflon lasts longer and lets the engine rev higher before the truck takes off.

RE: Monsoon Wheels on Avalanche?
yea went to hobbytown and that had nothing for me there so im stuck with ordering online. I have a feeling the wheels are the same dimensions on the monsoon and avalanche. I removed a tire from the broken rim and measured the avalanche wheel. Looks to be 4" OD x 3" wide x 1/2" offset

Monsoon Wheels on Avalanche?
I need to replace the wheels on my avalanche. ive busted two of them, and want to put a dish style wheel on that will hold up better to abuse. I notice the monsoon has dish wheels and was wondering if they are the same size wheels as the avalanche wheels (height and width). Obviously they are all 17mm hex. If so i wanna get a set and mount the avalanche tires on them. If anyone knows please feel free to chime in! Thanks! Tom

RE: fuel tank and lines
so the fuel outlet from the tank hits the spur gear? i cant picture how its doing that. you cant shorten it up or anything? something doesnt seem right but i have a tsunami it may be different since its a 2 speed

RE: About To Throw In The Towel
Firebird, do you have any of their 1/10th stuff? If you get a chance to compare them side by side youll see how incredibly better their 1/8th cars are as opposed to their 1/10th. Night and day difference, no comparison, and the 1/8th is absolutley worth the extra money.

RE: HELP!
like others said, hold your thumb over the exhaust outlet and pull it till you see the fuel line fill up. two or three pulls and it should be there and will fire right up.

Do a search I posted some HPI part number drive shafts that work perfectly. They are also a little bit better made around the ends and dont snap the tips off as easy. Ill see if i can find them

RE: Steel Gear Diff..
Looks like it ate a rock or something. Teeth look pretty good except for that one spot on top. Did you check the new gear to make sure its perfectly round? If it has a wobble it would lose the teeth real fast. Or it just ate a rock and youve got some bad luck.

RE: PRODUCT ALERT - STOP USING IMMEDIATELY
ORIGINAL: Swamp3r Got my replacement radio today I like it better than the old fm one Thanks Darin.
Is it the same AM system that comes in the 1/10th trucks. I took the radio from my Tsunami and put it in my avalanche so i could run it (into the ground since i managed to shear both rear wheels off of the hubs - wheels are pretty but not strong :-( ... )

RE: PRODUCT ALERT - STOP USING IMMEDIATELY
Hi Darin, If we have two units that need to be replaced can we ship them back in one box? We have two Avalanches that both have the fm digital system. If I send them back together can i request that I get two different frequencies returned? It sucks to lose that system, it really looks cool :) The digital part is neat but kinda a pain compaired to the regular old trim settings.

Thats cool. i know a lot of tsunami people put the single speed in. I really like the 2 speed, would like to keep it. So Darin, we need some steel gears for the tsunami 2 speed please! ! !

Steel Spur Gears for 1/10th
Hey guys, real quick, does anyone know if there are steel spur gears that will work in the tsunami 2 speed? Ive been running my avalanche all the time but wanna get my tsunami back to 100% and it needs spur gears. Plastic gears = crap Thanks!

check this out http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5455787/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm go to the second page youll see a break down of the parts i used. its the best thing you can do to the tsunami. Still 2 speed, easy to install, easy to find parts, and makes it a ton faster

RE: tire troubles
I had two of my stock tsunami tires shred like that. flipped it over, truck started reving uncontrolably (still dont know why) and when that puppy hit second gear and really got some wheel speed, BOOM! Both front tires exploded like you describe and threw chunks of rubber well over 10 feet in the air. Was cool and sucked at the same time!
