RE: Rookie Canard/ JR 10x programming...Help please !
ORIGINAL: highhorse
ORIGINAL: highhorse I'm a Futaba guy and don't speak JR. My bud is a JR guy who speaks JR fairly well but is still scrathching his head over an issue. He wants to use the canards with normal throws for most of the flight AND use them as airbrakes for landing. So far he has figured out how to do one or the other, but not both. If someone could give me the recipe for his 10x, I will pass it along. Thanks !
They say that acceptance is the first step to recovery...Long time no see there, my friend !
ORIGINAL: Socomon OK - When you said it included shipping and taxes, I assumed it was online. I'll check out some local distributors next time. Steve
Steve, I said the company name was SECO but actually it is SACO. Here is their information... Saco Petroleum Inc (Saco Petroleum, Inc*, Morris Oil Products*) 500 N National Ave Springfield, MO 65802-3642(Springfield, MO Metro Area) Phone: (417) 869-7333 Website: Morriswax.com All of the times I have ordered it they in turn had to order it and have it shipped to them but the shipping was in the price they sold it to me for.

RE: Who's using Mobil DTE light oil?
ORIGINAL: Socomon
ORIGINAL: JetCatJimmy You can get Mobil DTE here fairly cheap - and they'll ship it to your door. http://www.mcmaster.com/#2158k14/=3h1b08
Thanks for the link. I just got a gallon sent to my door. They were reasonable about the shipping too - about $6 for the gallon, so the total was $26. Obviously I would have saved money if I had bought 5 gallons, but I wasn't ready to buy that much yet. How many ounces of this weight oil would I add to 5 gallons to get a 2.5% mixture? Two of the things a spotter is required to do is: 1.) When the jet goes down you agree with the pilot no matter what happened it was a "LOCK OUT" & not pilot error! 2.) Help the pilot pick up the pieces....

RE: ROUTE 66 JETS September 10-13
ORIGINAL: jet76 Wow!! What can I say except me and Jr had a great time this past weekend flying with everybody. Thanks Roger for a well organized and laid back event. The highlight for me was flying with 6 planes in TIGHT formation, could not have gotten any better. This one is definitely a keeper. And yes Lewis I think I might have to slow Jr down a bit I'm afraid hes going to make me look bad before to long...[:D]. Also Patty, Thank you so much for the pics of Ben Jr first landing, That's one well always remember. Anyways cant wait til next year.......... Ben
Ben, Thanks for the information and experience you shared with my concerning your Rookie II so I can apply it to the new one I'm building. It was nice to meet you. Take care....

It was nice to meet you FastBro Robert! I figured when I introduced myself as a friend of Patrick's friend and you didn't take a swing at me you had to be a good guy! hehehhe. I wish Springfield wasn't so far away from where you live so we could come there and fly with you. Your fields all sound very nice...Maybe we'll make it there some day! You flew very well all week long.... Thanks Roger, Jim and Ron (what a great meal at the field, it doesn't get better than that!)....

RE: Not A Jet But This Is Not Good!
ORIGINAL: jclittle
ORIGINAL: A10FLYR
ORIGINAL: jclittle And why is this on the jet forum?
And why not? Saftey is all pilots concern...everyone should see this stupidity and learn from it. It CAN happen when we least expect it.
First off, it was posted in the jet forum and was moved to the club house...Saftey is a big concern I agree totally. If people are so STUPID they need to see this type of STUPIDITY in order to learn from it, there is a much more serious problem. Do you really beleive some people need to see this before they realize it might not be a good idea to fly near a skydiver? ''Ohh gee, I had no idea I could hit a skydiver until I saw this video!'' The jet forum is about jets, they do not need bad press that is unrelated to jets. Some yahoo is going to see this and say RC jets should be banned, not just stupid people who did something like this but RC altogether. I really do not think the RC community needs to show the general public how dangerous an RC plane can be in the hands of a moran.
JC, You don't need to be a jerk about it! The reason I put it originally in the jet forum is because I am a jet pilot and wanted my jet pilot friends to see it. I even made the remark that it was not jet specific but don't neccessarily agree with moving it because safety wise it applies to all rc pilots. It was probably your complaining that got it moved...

RE: Turbine oil
Do some studying up on Mobile DTE oil. I did and I will no longer use the dangerous stuff that has always been used. The "normal" oil is not very human friendly. The DTE is way cheaper and from the reports I have heard here at RCU works just as well as the other stuff. Read up on it and see what you think?

RE: Who's using Mobil DTE light oil?
ORIGINAL: Vincent I emailed Wilcox recently and his position is still the same as in the above post, not recommended. V..
Better switch from Jet Cat to Wren then! It works great in the Wren as well as all other turbines as I have read here. I wouldn't let "Wilcox" determine which jet oil is safe for you to handle and which is not.... It didn't take me long to swich to Mobile DTE once I read all of the cautions to us humans from the normally used oil! Pretty scary stuff.
