RE: New Revo 3.3 goes slow after plug change
When this style slipper gets loose, it usually gets hot and will even smoke if left loose too long. Guess how that was found?[sm=49_49.gif]

RE: 3.3 vs. 2.5r
The 3.3 has more bottom end torque as it is a larger displacement engine. Your answer would of course depend on your driving habits, and how you intend to use the truck.

A loose slipper clutch will make the engine "scream" but not allow 2nd gear.

RE: Aluminum vs RPM Witch 1 is better ???
For dependability, RPM control arms and shock towers. They allow a person to use the truck as designed without having to do alot of maintenance or repair. I would stick with the aluminum lower braces and bulkheads for toughness and durability. Just my 2 cents

RE: traxxas 3.3 conrod split in half
My buddy had a 2.5 on a Rustler that did the same thing as the above photo, but his punched a hole through the crankcase. His driving "style" is horrific, W.O.T. for extended periods of time, and running as lean as possible for max power. That seems to be the formula for Traxxas rod destruction.[:D]

RE: show off your modded T Maxx i need some ideas!!!
The 3.3 is easy to tune if you use a decent fuel. The 4-stroke gasser was an excersize of "wonder what if?" Yes, pound for pound the 2-strokes are usually faster. The newer electrics are even faster yet. They just don't sound or smell right[:D]

RE: show off your modded T Maxx i need some ideas!!!
Maxximize, why not upgrade to a 3.3? Some say they are hard to tune, but this one is a powerhouse that is very reliable. If you really want a different engine, convert a Ryobi 26 cc 4-stroke to fit a T-Maxx. This truck is still sitting on the shelf.

RE: Overpowered RC10GT . . . Traxxas TRX 3.3
Check to see if the rear of the vehicle is raising up to the point where one of the drive axles slips out of the drive cup.[:@] Lowering the rear will usually solve the problem.

RE: COMPRESSION QUESTION
When the engine is broke in, the wear to near perfect fit happens on the power stroke. When turning the engine backwards, you are compressing with the loaded side of near perfect fit. Normal rotation compression stroke doesn't cause near the load and wear as the power stroke. Some engines are designed with the piston pin off center to mimick the above illistration. Rod angles and leverages come into effect with offset cylinders and wrist pins. May be why some engines run better and longer than others.

RE: Torque steer RC10GT
Does the black top street in the first video have a crown to it? Does it drive the same on a flat concrete surface such as a large parking lot? I can't tell by the second video, but where are the rear upper control arms? Parallel? Does the rear end have bump steer? Maybe the rear diff was too loose from the beginning? Re adjust as per the Associated manual and try it.

RE: Torque steer RC10GT
As mentioned above, it could be a loose bearing in the rear where the axle stub is actually steering the car from the rear. How about a locating mount on the rear control arm broken/loose? How about the left rear tire? different size? still glued to the rim? It probably is in the rear half of the truck because mine goes straight without the front wheels on the gound.[:D]

RE: Torque steer RC10GT
Sounds like the left rear axle isn't driving the left rear tire? Is the left rear hub stripped out where the drive pin goes? I am not sure what could go wrong in the trans or differential to cause those symptoms.

RE: EZ Start: What happens when engine is flooded
One of the features of the easy start is when the system senses too much load on the starter motor it shuts down preventing the engine from being damaged due to hydro locking or excessive load on the starter motor.

RE: what is this???
Check the toe in on the rear wheels. Make sure they are toed in slightly and not toed out. Excessive toe out will cause most vehicles to "romance with the ditch" er.... to coin an old phrase.

Search the net for Stock Drive Products or Mc Master Carr as they carry a full line of every kind of belt imaginable. Probably could measure the original belt and come up with something that would work.

RE: HELP! slipper clutch
The slipper clutch is intended as a strain relief between the drive train and the engine. Jumping and coming down wide open throttle can twist axles and damage gear teeth. I run the slipper tightened down tight and drive accordingly. When an axle breaks[rare] or I loose the spur gear, Its my fault. I prefer the hard launch of a non slipping clutch more than the worry of breaking something.[:D]

RE: Broken hex tip in the way!!
Take a flat faced pin punch and firmly hit the broken piece face on [like you are trying to drive it further in] The shock may unseat and untwist the broken part so it will fall out. A hardened tipped center punch may shatter the broken part so it falls out. Sometimes a pencil tip flame may help. There are endless options before the point of no return where it is f.u.b.a.r.[:D]

RE: tmaxx breaking axles
You must have some excellent biting tires for a Maxx to break axles. Adjust the slipper clutch? CVDs will stop the axle problem, but put the tranny as the weak link. Pictures of the axles?

RE: T-Maxx with Clod Buster wheels and tires
Sorry, this body isn't for sale. The Monster Mutt stared out with a 49/50 Mercury Parma body. Cut accordingly and mask/airbrush the rest. Some leather material for the ears, old GM antenna for the tail, a childs plastic cup for the tongue. I would love to find a body suitable for converting into the Maximum Destruction truck of Tom Meents!
